My stay at Motel 6 Downtown San Diego was overall a positive experience, primarily due to its excellent location and great value for the area. A solid, no-frills budget option where you're paying for the location and a clean room. I would stay again for the price and convenience. The Highlights: ✅ Fantastic Location: Perfect for exploring downtown San Diego on foot. ✅ Friendly Staff: The team was genuinely supportive and kind. ✅ Unexpected Perks: I was lucky enough to be named "Customer of the Day" at random and won free parking—a lovely and appreciated surprise! ✅ Hidden Oasis: The small internal courtyard with plants is a serene escape from the city bustle. A really nice touch. ✅ Clean & Nice Room: The room itself was clean and looked nice upon arrival.

Areas for Improvement: ⚠️ Needs Updates: While clean, the entire facility feels a bit tired and could use some modernization. ⚠️ Basic Amenities: Don't expect a traditional hotel breakfast. It's just brewing coffee in the lobby (thankfully there are countless great coffee shops and restaurants nearby). ⚠️ Parking Not Guaranteed: Be aware that parking is an extra cost and not included in the room rate. The "raffle" for a free spot is nice if you win, but you should budget for parking just in case. ⚠️ Maintenance Issue: My bed frame was detached from the headboard. I didn't use it actively, so it was fine for sleeping, but it's a sign that upkeep can be inconsistent.

Great price for a one night stay and we were only planning to sleep in the room. The room was a good size for 2 people. Room only came with 2 bars of soap, 1 hand towel and 2 (small) bath towels. Usually motels have a bar of soap to use in the shower and shampoo/conditioner, but we didn’t have any in our room 😖 to top it of, the shower had an ear-ringing whistle when you turned the water on and it was unbearable to shower; especially if you have sensitive ears. There was also this weird gunk/burn mark on the floor next to our bed so we wondered if the floors were even cleaned prior to our arrival.

Staff when needing any thing were very good room was clean house keeping was good also besides that all was ok some others in units were a little loud n non compliance loud and just plane ignorant housekeeping was good staff members were also good

The air or air condition make banging noises all night very disturbing and was not working property. Some of the regular.persons who reside here looks like are just little too ( nosey) a few of these people got a pacing problem they walk nightly daily pacing around in and out all eve complained few times so all in all it's not bad thank you.

Room was clean and fairly comfortable. AC and shower were good.

The elevator took way too long waiting for it and it was only a 4 floor motel. Also, the 2nd and 3rd days after getting back to room being out all day. The room key stopped working, which meant I had to wait for that lousy elevator to go back to the front desk just so they can fix the key card and reprogram it, happened at least 3 times, super annoying. But other than that, it was fine, a lil bit expensive for what it was.

No deposit needed. Great front desk service and they accommodated an early check-in for an additional fee which they did disclose. The hotel was centrally located for all our planned events.

The bathroom did not have towels. We had to call for some to be brought up to us. Parking - I had to pay $10 for parking (not disclosed) but not too expensive Room was a little small and people across the way were inconsiderate to others during late hours. Not the hotel's fault, but a lot of homeless people hanging out in front of the hotel. Not a good feeling to come in late in the evening.

The night manager was amazing I told him some jokes and he was about it. I have never met a manager who was more comfortable with the people who were staying at your property.

On th the Sunday. January 12. He was just abousltly amazing... I hope to see him in the future. He was on the level... as well as when he was going Home. Was still courgal respectful... never tried to make me feel uncomfortable... I like 👍 Him and hope to see him in the future.

Very quiet. Just came off a day of traveling and checked in about 9pm. I was exhausted. After a quick trip to a nearby store for something to eat, I slept uninterrupted through the night. The room was basic, yet everything worked well and was in good repair and clean.

The location is away from the main activities of downtown San Diego and quiet.

There was this really nice person working the front desk his name is Aaron I want to put a shout out to him he has been nothing but good to me very respectful young man he does a great job with his customer service he always makes sure everyone gets checked in fast and it seems like he really cares about people on what they need and what they want for the hotel all I got to say is hands down he's a really great employee one of the best employees I ever seen working motel 6 he's Aaron the guy with the glasses 🙂🙌

My only complaint which I don't like to complain is the sink was kind of clogged up hopefully they fix the situation of the sink.

The location was only a 10-minute walk from the trolley, Little Italy and had easy access from downtown. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and we appreciated windows that fully opened. Staff were very friendly. On-site parking was really convenient. Price was more reasonable than other nearby lodging.

Parking in the rear lot made heading downtown more difficult because of all the one-way streets. Hall carpeting was quite stained and our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke until we left the windows open.

The new girl thats hired mexican girl dress with corporate clothes. She is good at her job and customer service. Very professional very good ear on listening pn what customer need. She got me towels as soon as I need them. Very classy .
