We arrived an hour early and was able to check in early, staff were friendly and rapidly supplied us with extra coffee and milk when we asked. Good location 10-15 minutes walk to the bull ring and a bus stop just outside if required. Breakfast available at a decent price. Good value for money. It's the third time I have stayed here and will return again.

Overall a decent place to stay, the general cleanliness was good but there was a couple of small hairs one on the toilet rim and another on the tiles beside the sink pedestal. Also the mattress was getting a bit soft. We wasn't worried about these things, we removed the hairs and still slept well on the mattress. The only real thing was the shower, my partner had hers no problem but when I had one the water stopped as I was rinsing soap off of myself, came back on a few minutes later but ideally shouldn't happen.

Great location just within reach if the city centre, we caught the bus as a stop was right outside. The Saturday we stayed was karaoke night so I was extremely happy, we came down from our room, had a few pints at the bar, sang a song then left for our gig.. perfect start to our evening.

Shower head was to big in my opinion and didn't spray water as it should so took longer to shower, once finished the room was full of steam cause the extractor fan didn't work at all, notified staff on departure and they said they would rectify immediately as they were unawares.

Very very decent for the price. Neat too with a great location. Really loved the back of the inn too. Great for our purpose.

It was a bit overwhelming coming in through the bar and being gawked at by the men there, wish the reception for the inn could be accessed via another entrance avoiding the bar. Also there were no phones in the room to contact reception so when you needed something it was either to call with your mobile or go to the same bar so that can be worked on. Thin walls so felt like the people above our room kept stomping on the ceiling up to late at night.

The staff were helpful and friendly. What a Star! Good place to relax and got chatting with the other punters in the pub. I didn't eat much of the food as I only eat kosher food. So, I settled for a portion of their tasty chips just to avoid sleeping in an emptied stomach.

I only stayed one night. So, nothing much stuck out, except I could hear the next door guest talking on his phone to his partner. It looks like the partition walls are not or well insulated. I wouldn't have had a wink of sleep if they were couple. I'm glad that wasn't the case. I had a good sleep. Lastly, I couldn't use the kettle in the morning. I noticed mould dew inside. It needs thorough cleaning. Please do not take this as negative comments but only to inject some improvements. So that my next trip and experience would be far better.

Saved the day with a VERY last minute room after being scammed elsewhere on Booking. Very lively pub, great atmosphere. Efficient and friendly staff, lovely room, off street parking, 24 hour access through coded security door in the car park area. Nice to have a late checkout option for an additional fee. Unfortunately didn't get to sample the breakfast as had to leave quite early. If coming to same area of Birmingham, would definitely stay again, no hesitation !

Perfect location for what we needed (short walk to Luna Springs!) Staff we encountered were all really friendly. Great value for money when you look at other places near by.

Some have said rooms are dated and in need of repair, but what we paid for the location (worked out at under £50) we were not bothered that there wasn’t state of the art facilities. The bed linen was clean, fresh towels, working toilet and shower…tv/tea& coffee in the room etc. Yes there are a couple of patch jobs but personally a dink in the wall and a bit of plaster that’s filled a hole doesn’t affect my sleep!!

I chose this property as I was attending a function taking place there. It was perfect for my needs! The room was fairly big & the bed was really comfy. Although it is a very busy area of a city, plus a busy pub, I didn't really get much disturbance from noise. The staff were friendly & breakfast was delicious! (pity it was only available on the Sunday). It was easy to find & handy for the city centre. It is a very old building so there is a bit of wear and tear, but I feel it adds to the character!

Overall I was very happy & will definitely stay there again if I am over in the UK. If anything, the main thing I didn't like was the very musty "damp dog" smell in the bathroom. Newer bedding could be good too - it was clean but a bit worn out (but it wasn't an issue as it was really comfy). Breakfast was a bit chaotic but due to unforeseen circumstances so not the venue's fault. Pity they don't do brekky all week though- it was lovely!

Room was lovely and quaint, it had everything you need and I really liked the green theme, cute little blankets included as part of the bedspread too. The bathroom had a pretty bad smell coming from it but if you closed the door you couldn't smell it and for one night it really wasn't an issue. Parking is limited but I did manage to find a space, although we did stay on a Saturday which might explain it.

The only negative point to mention is that if you are gluten free there are no breakfast options available.

Great clean, spacious, tidy, comfortable, newly renovated room and place. Kept in good condition. Friendly staff. Nice bar area and close to the city and a few other pubs.

Not much, other than obviously the drinks could be cheaper(still cheaper than most pubs in the centre) and food served more often if possible that could bring more for business. Noticed the window in room 8 had slight water on the window sill coming from somewhere, wasn’t really an issue for us but maybe at a later date, could cause more issues. Also for future reference the shower didn’t turn cold, it was useable and nice but very stiff(probably due to limescale), that may need changing; the valve if possible, if not that then whole shower will probably need replacing.

It's the first time I booked to stay above a pub with my children, I was worried about the noise. However my children loved the live entertainment and we were made to feel very welcome and it was nice to enjoy a drink not worrying about the driving after and we stayed on the third floor so it was not noisy, and minimal road traffic so no noise there either We had a great sleep - the beds were comfy. Its short walk (15mins) into town, highly recommend this hotel for families or couples With or without children
