Great location 5 minutes walk from the coach station and 10 minutes walk to The Bullring Shopping Mall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and booked me in straight away and showed me to my dormitory bed, showers, toilets and kitchen. My bed was warm and comfortable with a privacy curtain, locker and electric socket. Breakfast included apples, oranges, bananas, bread/toast with jams, marmalades, peanut butter, Nutella and tea/ coffee. It had a nice lounge area for chilling out with free tea and coffee anytime of day. Kitchen for cooking yourself with a microwave and refrigerator for storing food. Would definitely stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed my 6 nights here.
All good.

Close to a wedding reception in The Old Library. Complimentary toast, tea/coffee breakfast - as a hostel, guests do their own washing up. Cctv covers 2 parking spaces and the entrance. 24hr car park £3.80 per day until midnight within about 200 yards and free road parking from 6pm Saturday and all day Sundays. Clean rooms and clean shared bathrooms close-by. I think only one room has an en-suite.
I was happy, but some people may be worried about:- 1) Location is down side streets , though I felt fairly safe with lots of folk walking around late Saturday night. 2) Most guests appeared to be singles staying longer term, but managers have strict rules so that everything is in order.

Great value, very comfy bed, 24 hour access all made it great. The complimentary breakfast bar (toast, coffee, etc) was a pleasant surprise in the morning
No fault on the accommodation at all, but it was a bit nervy finding the place, the general area looks a bit rough/run down, a bit off-putting when you're not from a major city

This was a fantastic stay with great value for money. Staff were lovely and room was large. I booked a single room for so cheap it was only about 10 dollars more than a dorm!
The only thing is the location, whilst I felt safe for the most part, the last turn off the main road to the street the hostel is on is very dimly lit and very scary to walk at night alone especially as a woman. At one point a car stopped right next to me and I thought this was the end... it's only about 200m or less to walk this section but for this reason I might not pick again. I had read this in reviews when booking and I have to agree.

Organised and helpful staff. Entrance with code and code cards, heavy, safe doors, CCTVs. Lots of showers and bathrooms. All clean and with air-wicks [you can rent towels]. Comfortable wooden bunk beds with curtains, power sockets, good stairs to climb. A big-enough locker [take your own safety lock or buy a good one at the reception]. Spacious, clean kitchen. Good, refurbished and clean social area. Good house rules that keep the place low noise and orderly (no loud phone calls, media devices w/o headphones, wash and clean your stuff etc.), rules are reinforced thanks to staff and regulars. A mix of different visitors and nationalities – backpackers, regulars, for work or tourism. 15-25min walk to get around, bus stop/station, train station. Safe room to lock your belongings if you need to [free of charge when staying].
It's a hostel. Oftentimes if something is a bit off it's because of the different type of people visiting or simply the large overturn of people. Staff handle it surprisingly well. The area is industrial – as most of Birmingham. Some might find it a bit off-putting, but once you take a walk – the graffiti around the are is real nice, there are new establishments opening in the old buildings, there are CCTVs, etc. Remember to take care of yourself and your safety first in any place. Some mould developing at one of the showers, but the hostel is working on renovations gradually.

The booking and checking in process was really easy. The room I was in was located within a few steps of one of the bathrooms, both were really clean and had a fresh smell and feeling to them. The bed I was in was very comfortable and the surrounding curtain of the bunk was excellent for giving yourself some privacy and making it dark. The locker in the room was more than ample in size for the amount of luggage I had.
The only thing that would have made the experience even better was being told about either bringing a padlock for the locker or about the option to buy one, but once I knew about this the lovely man at the front desk sorted me out very quickly with buying one.

It was clean, and good kitchen. Shower room clean. Price good, if you don't have much money. Breakfast was good for what it was. No complaints. 'It does what it says on the tin'. Workers were fine, and quite friendly. It was an experience, sleeping in the bunk beds. My 1st time ever sleeping on a bunk bed like this.
I didn't dislike anything. It was just a very new experience for me. I was happy that I could get an all female room and the door could lock, leaving me feeling safe. I don't have any photos of anything. The street the hostel is on, is very dark at night, and it can be very scary walking in that area. No pedestrians on the street. Even in the morning, early there is no one on the streets around it. You walk praying you are kept safe, till you get to the main streets. People at night see doing wheely driving outside through the night, and it wakes you up.

Stayed in 6 bed female dorm on 1st floor which was clean and very secure. Bed was really comfortable. Staff were very helpful and happy to accommodate my request for lower bunk. Large kitchen and lounge available 24/7.with free tea and coffee. Simple breakfast included (bread, fruits, preserves, etc) Bathrooms were very clean, with ample hot water, though there was a sizable wait to use on Sunday. Great location close to digbeth coach station and O2 institute. Would certainly book for future trips.

Free lunch was a great bonus, and it was available from 7 AM. The beds had privacy curtains, and every part of the room was clean and very well organized — the same goes for the toilets. The staff was also very friendly!
The hostel is located in an industrial area that’s currently developing. The graffiti and the surroundings didn’t make me feel very safe at first, although the staff assured me it was safe. I think it would be helpful if this was mentioned in advance.

Good location. Cheap. I adore the kitchen. Staff are lovely. It’s the only place I stay when I’m in Birmingham.
Guests can be rude sometimes if you’re going through your things in the locker etc because of “noise”. However if they want pure silence they should maybe look at a hotel - I’m no longer afraid to remind people they’re in a hostel so there will be some degree of noise in a room. As long as it’s a respectable level it shouldn’t be an issue. I always try to be as quiet as I can during early/late hours out of respect. But during the day don’t be mad if someone is unpacking or packing etc.
