Like most people have said this place is clean. The beds were comfortable. It is located about 5 minutes from the visitor’s center and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. I requested a non smoking room far from any smoking rooms. They put us in back building with only a few other guests. It was very quiet back there. I was so pleased. There were only two negative things. When I arrived to check in, the two ladies at the desk were discussing some customer’s behavior. They continued this conversation as I was being checked in. I felt like a side note to their conversation. It was awkward. The second thing was the highly perfumed lobby. It was overwhelming and stayed with me for awhile.

It's comfortable, clean, and the staff is friendly. There is no breakfast but they have coffee, hot chocolate and tea at any hour of the day or night. A pleasant stay.

The location. Away from the casino but close enough (walking distance) to shops, restaurants, etc.

Friendly staff and location

The hotel was extremely clean, staff super nice and helpful with smiles and created a welcoming feeling. The lobby and the room smelled nice and not stale. I was very surprised. We travel extensively 6-8 times per year. Cherokee isn't even a vacation spot to us, it's like a second home. We usually stay in Airbnbs, but for short stays I will be booking here.

The only suggestion would possibly be to install an elevator or lift to the second floor. As a person with disabilities, it's hard to traverse stairs, but the stairs at the hotel are not standard size or height, and your feet can kick through the gap between the stairs, which made it a little harder. It wasn't impossible for me, but my spouse almost fell, and it was kind of a scary moment.

Everything was fantastic. Staff at check-in were very friendly and accommodated us for an early check in. The room was clean and a very nice size. The fridge and microwave handy. Bed was comfortable and air worked great. Within walking distance to the river for tubing which is why we were there. They had adjoining rooms which was convenient for the 8 of us. It is an older property that is very well maintained. Would absolutely say again.

The bathroom was small.

As soon as I arrived and started walking towards the soon to be opened swimming pool the Indian magic unraveled right before my eyes. So I'm walking past the pool, & I hear boom boom boom, & chanting and my spiritual awakening stated, I was hearing Navaho, so powerful I was being taken back 600 years ago , & now I remember hearing this familiar chant on an Coast 2Coast episode 20 years ago. I made eye contact with one of the performers who didn't have to look @ me , but did thank you so much for that hope you can teach me some drumming skills some day thanks again I will never ever forget that moment , I was born for that sound. Well after this spiritual awakening, there is nothing that you don't like except for the disappointment of realizing that you're phone was just about out of power, & could only take a picture, but no audio, just audio embedded in your Brain for ever 🌵😎🪴

Overall for the price a great place to stay. The room smelled a little stuffy and the air conditioner looked a little dirty but over all the place is clean and safe. We stay have stayed here several times over the years always nice people working. The pool looked very clean also however we did not swim in it. Always fresh coffee as well.

Smell of the room was not a fresh smell maybe the carpets.the air conditioner looks like it needs some cleaning attention but overall the place is clean.

The location put you within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable compared to similar offerings in the area. WiFi was available throughout the property and Dish cable was clear and reliable. There were several charging ports as well as a power cube that provided plenty of space to plug in anything you brought with you. Even though the temperature was frigid outside, the room stayed pretty comfortable. There was a table and chairs so you could eat in room if you so desired.

The room could have had a few minor repairs. Air came in around the entrance door, but the heat compensated for that. The bathroom door had a couple small holes, but the bathroom itself was very clean. There was a slight musty smell initially, but perhaps that room hadn’t been used in a while. It dissipated quickly. The ice machines were frozen up, but the desk actually brought me a small amount from the ice they used in the office. There was street noise, but you are on a main road, so that would have been in any hotel you chose in this area. The pools were closed, but we knew they were seasonal when we booked.

We stayed on the first floor near the pool, from June 29-July 6. Our room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we did not get to swim in the pool, though it was clean and inviting. The location was perfect for our stay in Cherokee. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with our choice to stay at the Great Smokies Inn in Cherokee NC and we plan to stay again in the summer of 2026.

We have no complaints. :)
