The location was perfect very close to station and everything Richmond had to offer and was a lot quieter than I thought it would be. The 2 different gents on the reception we spoke with were really friendly,helpful and welcoming. Our beds were very comfortable and the fan was well needed in the heat wave.

Our room was on the small side but had everything we needed, the bathroom had a great shower but the sink was a very small sink so hard to fill the kettle but we managed. We were told that it is due to be refitted very soon

The room was adequate and bed comfortable. Also the shower was very good. The location was excellent- close to buses and trains. Also, the town of Richmond is very pleasant.

The room was fine but the bathroom sink was very small and had a loose cold water tap. Plus the tea and milk in the room could have been topped up more regularly. However, overall the room was clean and comfortable - and having two opening windows was very much appreciated as the weather was extremely warm during my stay (between 26 and 29 degrees).

Had a basic single room, which met expectations factoring in the price I paid. I managed to find a parking space in the very small car park, it would have been problematic if I hadn't. That said for anyone travelling by train the hotel is literally 5 minutes walk from the station, so an ideal location. Generally clean and tidy, no major complaints

There was no one on the desk when i arrived and couldn't raise anyone by ringing the bell. That said I was there too early to check in , I just wanted to let them know I had parked up so not a huge issue. All the staff I did eventually meet were friendly and helpful, and apart from when I arrived the front desk was usually manned. The mattress was a bit hard and might have been uncomfortable for someone who has difficulty sleeping.

The (single) room was nice and clean, cleaned daily, resupplied regularly with bags of tea, coffee and sugar. The staff were nice, and the neighbourhood is great. There is a sink in the room, which helps if you share a bathroom withe another single.

Single rooms share a bathroom; it's not an issue by itself, but the bathroom could do with some refurbishment. There's some noise from aeroplanes landing into nearby Heathrow, flying just overhead. I didn't mind, but light sleepers should be warned.

Size of the room was massive. The water pressure is amazing and the bath is deep and long. The location is great. The room was a little warm but the fan provided was perfect. Staff were lovely and more than happy to help any way they could, even offering to bring a sewing kit from home to help me! Road beside the hotel is very quiet.

The floors are squeaky, you can hear them through the ceiling. TV is not smart but had all the regular channels. A socket by the bed would be a nice addition but there were plenty throughout the room. (Can be really nit picky and complain about chips in windowsill but that doesn't matter)

our room was absolutely perfect. We had a chance to stay in a room for my boyfriend’s birthday. The room was located in a space that felt very comforting, and it had a very cool view of the backyard. We felt very warm and comfortable staying at the shandon. we really appreciated the service as well. The hotel staff was very reasonable and responsive and hospitable.

It was comfortable, clean and warm. The staff were super friendly and (more importantly) helpful. Although the hotel and room did feel slightly 'tired', it was exactly what I needed - and most importantly it was a great location, clean and had a very decent shower. Fabulous value for money.

A smidgen more general maintenance would have done a bit more to improve the overall look and utility of the room. However, this was a minor thing and didn't really detract from the overall experience.

I booked the hotel room last minute at a discount rate. Good price for the value. The hotel is very near the train station but quiet and not many people around. The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated.

The floor made a bit of cracky noise when walking on it. The room was quite hot at night even though the windows were open and it was chilly outside - it was on a day peak temperature was 23’C. Luckily there was a fan and I had it on the whole night which solved the problem.

It is rundown and needs tlc but all we needed was a great central place to rest - it fulfilled those needs

Honestly couldn’t fault my stay here. Staff greeted me with a warm smile when I returned each day, the room was humble but comfortable. Was exactly what I hoped it would be for budget accommodation in a great location.

My bathroom did have a slight smell, I think it may have come from the bathroom sink drain. Could do with a bit of bleaching.
