We had a really great time at Forest Park. The location is good, very close to the centre of the village and not too far from the station. There is a gorgeous trail that starts just outside the property, which for us, with a toddler and no car, was ideal. The staff were lovely and made all the necessary changes to dining options to accommodate my daughter's food allergies. The breakfast was very good and varied. The property was lovely, well decorated and full of wonderful touches like a nespresso machine in the room and a Dyson hairdryer. All in all, we would return without a second thought.

Small cosmetic details could have had better attention. The mechanism on one of the shutters was broken, and although the team were aware, nothing was done to replace it, which meant the middle shutter was impossible to close. Some areas like the bathroom door could use a lick of paint as it was peeling in places, but, as I mentioned, those were mostly cosmetic. It just felt a shame considering all the lovely details put into the hotel. It was also extremely hot even with the heating off and the window open.

The attention to every detail, the staff was absolutely amazing- all of them. Super dog friendly (my pup was loving all the attention and the little welcome pack). I usually don’t like to dine in the same place and like to try out different local places but the food was really good so I ended up having dinner and breakfast there and only went out one night. The room was very spacious, comfortable and with all the amities. It felt like everything was really thought through. I would definitely book a stay here again.

Not a dislike but the WiFi on TV wasn’t working. They were installing some new system so you couldn’t watch Netflix or cast but it’s a minor thing and not really a big deal.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bed and room were spacious, comfy and super clean. Housekeeping even left us cute notes. The breakfast was 10/10 and we could go to the bar in the evening and take up what we liked to our room. They're so accommodating towards children and dogs (they have wellies at the front door for all shoe sizes as young as 2, and spare dog leads and dog towels). The garden was beautiful and the setting is so peaceful.. you can just cross the road and you're greeted by New Forest plains and wild horses, yet you're 5 minutes away from Brock highstreet. Incredible few days.

The only criticism was the shower pressure. It came and went. Luckily we liked having baths so had them instead.

We were super impressed about how dog friendly this hotel is, amazing features for those four legged guests! 10/10 for that, thank you. Staff were all wonderful too, special mention to Emma who helped us with booking in the first place and also on Front Desk at checkout. Our room was lovely; big, comfortable bed with huge bathroom. We will most definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The only thing I would say here is that for dinner in the restaurant, my husband had the prawn dish under “Grazing” option, if only this had a bit of garlic, it would be delicious, it was quite bland without, even with the chilli.

Not so keen on having other people's dogs near our table whilst dining but great for the dog owners.

Comfortable and atmospheric small country hotel, lovely food and friendly staff. Surrounded by trees, lovely garden area. Great location for walking into Brockenhurst and the surrounding natural and unspoilt countryside. Good base for visiting the whole of the New Forest area. When we visited the hotel was trimmed up for the Christmas period and were lovely decorations. We will definitely visit again.

We had a shower over bath and the pressure for the shower was really low. Housekeeping advised they reported this so I think was not a normal thing. I believe some rooms have a walk in shower so might ask for that next time. It was the only disappointing thing but the rest of the room and whole hotel was lovely.

A difficult situation for the hotel, but one rude guest left her dog barking and whining in her guest room whilst she ate breakfast and had an evening meal. We were awake so the dog fortunately did not wake us in the mornings. She was part of a large group so an uncomfortable situation for the hotel to deal with. The dog sounded distressed which is cruel. Not great either to have a dog barking /howling and whining as backing noise whist away on a relaxing break.

Nearly everything! The breakfast was very good - a buffet with lots of choice from fruit and yoghurt to a range of hot breakfast items: eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages etc. We ate enough to keep us going for most of the day! it was included in our room price so great value. Staff were absolutely delightful. Very accommodating and loved our dogs (there were a lot of dogs in the hotel!). Decor is very pleasant but not too formal so you can feel relaxed. Bar area is dog friendly so we had all our meals and drinks in there - we actually preferred it to the formal dining room. Great location - you step out of the door into the New Forest and Brockenhurst village is 5 minutes walk. We were there for a couple of nights over Christmas and it fitted our needs perfectly.

Only two smallish points from us. The food was good and generous, but there is an opportunity to take it from good to great, which would earn a 10 from us all round! Also the final billing system was confusing and I had to work hard to make sense of the itemised bills that were split between our two rooms.

The location is wonderful. Without exception, all the staff were friendly, helpful and always had a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was filling, the local made jam and ground coffee was fabulous. The evening meals were 5* every time and the deserts, Wow!! The decor throughout the hotel were right for the setting, and the age of the hotel and complemented it perfectly. It would have been nice to have a pamphlet on the history of the hotel, from its origins as a vicarage to a hospital in the first world war, but this is an observation , and by no means a criticism. An exceptional hotel in a fabulous part of the New Forest at any time of year!

The bath could have been lower, as I am a person with short legs it would have been better to have a lower side to the bath, or a dedicated shower stall in its place. Not really a criticism, just an observation.

really comfortable bedroom, cosy and special attentions and treats for our dog were waiting for him in the room. Really lovely ! Plus the staff was extremely friendly and arranging. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent. The hotel is in a very nice spot with walks around and near the village centre. All round, the Forest Park Country hotel is a great place to stay ! We'd love to come back.

Our room on the first floor was just above the bar/restaurant and we could hear music (or rather, the bass) until late. Something to remember when booking our next visit :)
