Clean and cozy cottage for a family of four. The breakfast was ample and kids enjoyed the waffles. Highlight was the two white horses in the field just next to the cottage - waking up in the morning the kids wanted to say hello to the horses first thing. Good communication, beautiful surroundings, easy check in and check out. Very quick 10 min drive to get to Hvolsvullur for laundromat, groceries, gas, and decent public swimming pool. Thank you Kristin and family for the pleasant stay!

The cottage is a little tight for two adults and two teens who have a lot of stuff but that's not really a big deal.

The rooms are nice, clean and cozy, our stay consisted of one cottage and a single room. The cottage is well equipped, we had breakfasts and dinners there and could cook and dine comfortably, the single room is clean and nice but very basic, it does the job as a single room should. It's a family business, staff is nice, friendly and communicating.

the place is very good, there could be a few slight modifications to make it great - missing a small shelf for soap in the shower. The single room shower needs more air, it humidifies the room and the bed wasn't so comfortable for me. Except for that, it's a really nice place that I would highly recommend.

The entire property is very tastefully furnished and decorated. Checking in was no problem and we found our room and key thanks to the directions from the owner on the phone. As we were off-season, there was no breakfast served: we brought our supplies and had a lovely breakfast in the common area, making use of the large kitchen. Lots of books and a chess board kept us entertained. The guesthouse is located several kilometres off the main road, literally in the middle of nowhere, and it is delightfully quiet. As a bonus, at night we were treated to the magnificent view of the Northern Lights.

Nothing.

We weren't quite sure what to expected when we drove out of town to get get to Lindartún Guesthouse, but upon arrival we felt instantly at home. The property has animals, which was nice, and although it was too cold and rainy to spend time outside, we definitely would have if the weather had been nice. The kitchen is large with plenty of supplies and there's a shop in town to pick up food if you need it. The bathroom was really nice and had a heated towel rack, and the beds were great. The room was big enough that it didn't feel cramped with me and my two teens inside while drying our wet clothes out on every free inch of space. While it was a little further from town than we expected, it was a great experience and I would definitely stay there again!

Guesthouse was clean and comfortable and the surroundings are beautiful. The breakfast was good, with hardboiled eggs, cheeses and meats as well as cereal and yogurt and the kitchen was well appointed for cooking our dinner.

There was a very small "sitting room" but it was not conducive to eating our dinner there because there was no table. Our family of five ended up eating at the very small table in the kitchen and standing. Would be nice to have a larger table for family meals or be able to use the dining room to eat dinner.

Clean room and house. Good location to see south Iceland.

Communication with the owner was not great. Couldn't check-in for a good 15 mins because the owner was not reachable via phone (according to their checkin procedure). They were reachable via booking.com chat and we figured out a way to check-in but we were in a rush to catch our dinner reservation and had to change in the car.

The view was great and the Icelandic horses in the front yard were a real bonus. The kitchen area was clean and well appointed. Additionally the breakfast options were very nice.

The shower was very small. It worked for a small to average person but my husband is a big man, 240, 6.2, and could not turn around inside it. The toiletries were sparse as well.

The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Hosts are friendly and helpful. The location is good to cover a lot of tourist places by car. Thank you!

Light pollution during the night. Neighbouring farms have super bright light during the night. It is not a problem for sleep (the windows of the bedroom very conveniently facing north, where there is no light from neighbours), but hunting for a Northern light might be a bit problematic. However, we have seen it for a couple of nights.

The guesthouse as a whole was very attractively appointed. It’s in a very peaceful setting with a very homey atmosphere.

It’s a fair drive to most of what the south has to offer, if that would matter to you. Most any place you might choose as your home base would still involve a fair drive to the sights.

The rooms were nice. The breakfast was adequate to decent.

The location was terrible. The property was in the middle of nowhere. Good for an overnight stay on your way to somewhere. We did the South Coast and it worked for one night. We stayed two nights. To do over, I would stay in Selfoss the second night - closer to more attractions.
