The entire property is very tastefully furnished and decorated. Checking in was no problem and we found our room and key thanks to the directions from the owner on the phone. As we were off-season, there was no breakfast served: we brought our supplies and had a lovely breakfast in the common area, making use of the large kitchen. Lots of books and a chess board kept us entertained. The guesthouse is located several kilometres off the main road, literally in the middle of nowhere, and it is delightfully quiet. As a bonus, at night we were treated to the magnificent view of the Northern Lights.

We weren't quite sure what to expected when we drove out of town to get get to Lindartún Guesthouse, but upon arrival we felt instantly at home. The property has animals, which was nice, and although it was too cold and rainy to spend time outside, we definitely would have if the weather had been nice. The kitchen is large with plenty of supplies and there's a shop in town to pick up food if you need it. The bathroom was really nice and had a heated towel rack, and the beds were great. The room was big enough that it didn't feel cramped with me and my two teens inside while drying our wet clothes out on every free inch of space. While it was a little further from town than we expected, it was a great experience and I would definitely stay there again!

Guesthouse was clean and comfortable and the surroundings are beautiful. The breakfast was good, with hardboiled eggs, cheeses and meats as well as cereal and yogurt and the kitchen was well appointed for cooking our dinner.

There was a very small "sitting room" but it was not conducive to eating our dinner there because there was no table. Our family of five ended up eating at the very small table in the kitchen and standing. Would be nice to have a larger table for family meals or be able to use the dining room to eat dinner.

The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Hosts are friendly and helpful. The location is good to cover a lot of tourist places by car. Thank you!

Light pollution during the night. Neighbouring farms have super bright light during the night. It is not a problem for sleep (the windows of the bedroom very conveniently facing north, where there is no light from neighbours), but hunting for a Northern light might be a bit problematic. However, we have seen it for a couple of nights.

The guesthouse as a whole was very attractively appointed. It’s in a very peaceful setting with a very homey atmosphere.

It’s a fair drive to most of what the south has to offer, if that would matter to you. Most any place you might choose as your home base would still involve a fair drive to the sights.

The rooms were nice. The breakfast was adequate to decent.

The location was terrible. The property was in the middle of nowhere. Good for an overnight stay on your way to somewhere. We did the South Coast and it worked for one night. We stayed two nights. To do over, I would stay in Selfoss the second night - closer to more attractions.

Very nice place, tastefully styled with high end shared bathroom. Couple of kilometers of the ring road, very quiet. Self check in available.

Shared kitchen is quite big, but with central cooking island might get cramped with 4 people or more. Kitchen is not available for own cooking when breakfast is served, until 10am or so. Not very big rooms but very tidy and stylish. Only one shared bathroom combines toilet and shower, might get tricky in high season.

Plenty of room - we had one of the cottages so we were able to cook. The kitchen had everything one needed including oil, spices, tea. We didn’t indulge in Lindartun’s breakfast since we had our own kitchen. The location of this property is ideal. It is 20 minutes to the beautiful Seljalandsfoss. While I never met the property owners, check in was simple and texts were responded to quickly.

The place situated a bit off the main highway which we like. So it is very quiet. Rooms are clean, comfortable and with everything one needs. Breakfast room was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. An old airplane is sitting outside that was from a movie set which was super interesting to check out.

No dislikes - All was great :)

The space was comfortable and a wonderful place to relax. Close enough to an area to pick up supplies, but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. And when the northern lights showed up, this was the best place to watch while also being close to a building to warm up.

This isn't a negative, it would've been convenient if there was a laundry here. But the place is already good as it is!
