We arrived at the Florence airport at 11 PM, with our next flight scheduled for 6:45 AM the following morning. Unfortunately, the airport closes overnight and only reopens at 4 AM. Looking for a place to rest and freshen up, we found a nearby hotel, hoping to take a quick shower and relax for a few hours. For just $87 a night, we weren’t expecting anything fancy — but we were genuinely surprised! The hotel turned out to be modern, super clean, and incredibly comfortable. We had stayed in several hotels across Italy during our trip, often paying between $250 and $350 per night, and yet none of them were as spotless as this one. Some guests might find the rooms a bit small, and the hotel is about twelve stops by train from the city center. So you’ll want to consider your priorities when booking. But if you’re looking for a clean, welcoming, and convenient place near the airport, this hotel is an excellent choice. We also want to mention Licio at the front desk — he was polite, helpful, and professional. He even called a taxi for us, which arrived within 5 minutes and cost just 16 euros to get back to the airport. Thank you for a short but very pleasant stay!

Nice and cozy hotel a bit far from the city center, but the public transportation is great and you have mulitpe options to reach downtown easily, bus stops are just a corner away and the nearest tram station can be reached with a 5-6 minutes walk. The room has been cleaned every day, I also got fresh towels on a daily basis. The receptionists were very kind and helped me immediately when my card for the room was not working. The noise of the traffic or the nearby airport can't be heard at all. There are even supermarkets in a comfortable walking distance.

The bed was too soft for my liking, but is's not a negative thing, maybe this is exactly what you are looking for :) The fridge could have been a bit bigger.

This is a very modern, clean, efficient hotel. If you are looking for Florentine charm, stay by the center. But if you have an early morning flight or are coming in late at night, this is one of the few places very close to the airport and to airport car rental. The room was basic but comfortable and more roomy than typical (we had a room with a double and a twin bed), the shower was good, the staff were very helpful and were there 24/7, free parking on site, they arranged for our 4:30am taxi to the airport (20 euros), and the hotel is a block or two from the T2 line for a quick train ride to the center or else a 25 euro cab ride. There is a free evening cocktail and you can purchase breakfast but the timing didn't work out so we didn't try it. A very convenient place to stay for a first or last night in Florence near the airport. And by the way, we were worried about whether this tiny airport would be open at 4:30, and they were not only open but very busy at that time of day and there was a pastry shop open in the airport at that time.

Fantastic communication through booking.com despite the poor hotel getting targeted by hackers (a very clever scam, moved onto WhatsApp and almost had me transferring a rather large sum of money - watch out, don’t send money, only communicate through booking.com). We chose this hotel for one night due to its proximity to the airport. Sure enough it was 5 minutes and 25 euro by taxi (hotel had said 20 but wasn’t going to quibble late at night). Lovely welcome on Reception. Breakfast was great and recommended. We traveled onwards to Pisa by train the next day. The T2 tram was 2 minutes walk away and took us straight to the main station. This might also be a great option for the airport (in the other direction) in daylight hours. Room absolutely sufficient for what we needed. Excellent selection of toiletries including conditioner.

Nothing major but…. I was aware of the room layout (slightly odd positioning of the toilet) but I had a shower, flooded the floor (basically get a towel down before you start) and my little girl fell over into the puddle and made her only PJs wet! This isn’t really the hotel’s fault as it’s design related but definitely an inconvenience. We were also told at check in about two complimentary bottles of water in our room which weren’t there!

My flight to Florence was delayed and I wasn't due to arrive until 2330hr at the earliest, and I had a minimum two hour drive to complete after this. So, while waiting to board my flight, I decided to check if there were any last minute discounted rooms near Florence airport and found the Wyndham Gardens hotel offering just that and I booked a room. The room design was what you would find in most hotels in Scandinavia, stylish, modern, and comfortable.

I arrived too late and left too early the following morning to check out the restaurant, or bar, so can't comment on them. More parking spaces would have been nice, but I can appreciate that this is restricted due to the property footprint, and as I said earlier I did arrive very late.

Dora and Sara at front reception was amazing! They were kind, knowledgeable and friendly. They answered our questions with ease, and any requests made they fulfilled them immediately - smiling the whole time.

The restaurant left a lot to be desired. While, we understand, it got busy quickly, there were only 2 servers on the floor. They had to seat patrons, make drinks and take orders. So that led to a long time in between getting service at our table. The food was not of good quality. We spent over 60 euros but our server didn't ask if we were pleased with it as we left over 95% of the food on the plates. I feel an offer of a reduction should have been made or at least over to try and make things right.

Easy access to and from the tram from main train station (walkable from tram stop) Just one stop from the airport. So great for early flights. Since I arrived early in the day staff let me store my bag while I took the tram back into Florence for the rest of the day. I got back after dark but the area felt very safe. It’s not a “historical/old” neighborhood but a place where people live in more modern buildings. Room was small but very clean. I was on the top floor and had a nice view. Great breakfast!

We have give our score of 8, as this is a great hotel for the money! You can only rate a hotel on the expectations & relative to the money & requirements you have. We needed a hotel close to the airport, at a reasonable price for 1 night. This hotel had helpful staff, basic, but very clean rooms, very comfortable bed & pillows, TV with Netflix.

The toilet has very little privacy, but again, relative to the price we paid & no surprises as we had seen photos. The restaurant is ok & at least they have one! The bar has VERY basic seating, one L shaped lounge in the corner. The one thing that must be fixed is the sewage smell in the lift and in the -1 level entrance to the restaurant, it is discussing!!!! If you did not go to the restaurant, it would be a faint smell in the lift. You would not realise how bad it was on the bottom floor. Tea or coffee facilities would have been great.

Everything was amazing. Had a safe, small fridge for drinks but complimentary water bottles. Nice big TV with comfortable beds. Electric charging spot outside (only two) for €20, I would recommend charging overnight if possible because it’s a slower charging. Has on site parking spots and vending machine in the lobby. We slept in too late for breakfast because we got there late so we didn’t try that.

The bathroom was making noise all night but we drowned it out with the TV.

We chose the hotel as it is very close to the airport but it is impossibly difficult to walk there as you have to dash across several busy main roads with no provision for pedestrians, so you have to book a taxi for literally a 5 minute journey.
