First of the staff at this hotel is what makes it such an amazing place to stay. I have traveled the world and I have never encountered a more friendly and thoughtful staff than this Best Western Lodge at Banner Elk. Every single person we met was just as accommodating as the next. We found the beds comfortable and slept well. It was quite during our stay but a lot of people there as we heard they were fully booked. Breakfast got a little repetitive after 3 days but it all still tasted good. The location is convenient to Land of OZ if you are going to Autumn at OZ. It only took us about 15 minutes to reach Beech mountain. If we ever get to come back to this area we will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it.

I really love the employees, they've been very friendly and helpful about everything finding a street places to eat and all around nice. Love to visit again next time it might snow.

No big problem but we were there a couple years ago and loved that they had the popcorn machine. Wish they'd bring that back it's a great thing to eat popcorn in the lobby and meat other participants after snowboarding.

This hotel was really beautiful. The staff was really friendly. The room was big and the air conditioner worked really good. They had a big beautiful breakfast area and a really cute swing outside next to the pool. The pool was under construction, which was fine because it was a little too cold to swim anyway. There was a really cute little tiki bar next to the pool so it looks like they do some fun events there. I definitely recommend a stay here!!

I enjoyed the mountain lodge decor of the lobby. I wish the pool was open - seems weird to close the pool in July? But the courtyard in the middle was nice.

Pool is closed in middle of summer. Walls seem thin because I could hear my neighbors coughing and talking all night.

Nice room, staff was very friendly, breakfast was good, plenty of space, great view of the mountains on the back side of the motel.

The mattress was very firm. It made it rather uncomfortable trying to get a good night's sleep. But that's really a preference thing, not their fault. I just like to have a little bit of give is all. The outside definitely needs updating. The railings are rusty and the paint is peeling off. The concrete sidewalks/walkways are all chipped up or peeling off. The good thing is that you can tell that they have recently updated the inside, which was nice. I was a little concerned about what kind of shape it would be in by looking at the outside. But I was pleasantly surprised.

The best part was the friendly and helpful staff.

I would have liked to have sausage gravy to put over my scrambled eggs with the free breakfast. There was a meatless white gravy instead. The pillows weren't good for neck support even though they were quality down pillows.

Everything was great. I've stayed here before, and each time is amazing. The staff is friendly and professional with great customer service. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the beds provide a good night's rest. I enjoy staying at this hotel whenever I travel to Banner Elk.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times while visiting Boone and it is always great . A cozy , quiet and very pleasant stay . Clean spacious rooms with great showers . The perfect place for a good nights sleep . The staff is always very nice and professional as well . Thanks 😊

The staff was exceptional! The beds are small but comfortable with good pillows. The pool and pool area was very nice. The location was perfect. My family and I would definitely stay again! I can not boast on the staff enough, so kind and inviting. Would stay again just because I know we would be treated well!

The snack machines were outdated but had a good selection of snacks. I would just prepare by bringing your own or have change ready.

Great location in the beautiful mountains and close to year-round amenities. Handy parking area. Great self-serve breakfast and friendly staff on hand. Friendly welcome at reception. We only stayed one night but the room had all we needed.

A bit dated and worn in places.
