Breakfast

Loading/Access to the entrance: It is very difficult to identify the entrance and the place to stop and get down before entering the hotel with luggage. The promised 55% discount to the parking fee at B4 Parking was not enabled despite registering on the system. Only on reaching the parking place did I realize that it was not enabled. I had to call my family to get that enabled! At the time of the checkout, the lady at the front desk was not ready to answer as to where do I stop my car for me to be able to load luggage and alight my family. She was being very diplomatic - does not help! Overnight parking in the vicinity is very expensive.

Having stayed before I knew what to expect. It did not disappoint. Bathroom - A good shower and nightlight. Bedroom - Bed was comfortable. Breakfast - good choices especially the 'hot' food (good to see the jar of marmite!). Getting down early (0630 M-F & 0700 Sat/Sun) certainly makes for a better breakfast experience (later on it can get quite crowded and noisy). Staff - friendly and efficient. Wi-fi - worked ok even without their password. Excellent location if arriving/departing to/from Birmingham Snow Hill railway station.

Nothing too drastic. Breakfast - the 'continental' side was a bit thin, could have done with some cold meats. Given there seems to be a demand, Breakfast at the weekend needs to start at 0630 as well. Came back at 2230 on the Saturday evening and the key card didn't work very well on the Front Door, but eventually the Door opened.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Booked for 2 nights in a double room. Room was extremely clean, warm and comfortable. Great shower and plenty of towels. We had an initial hic up with our reservation which was nothing to do with the hotel, the manager Scott went over and above to rectify and had sorted all in a few minutes with a professional , polite and pleasant manner that any employer should be proud of. He deserves a special mention. All staff members were polite, pleasant and very helpful. We will definitely be back and will recommend this hotel to everyone. Rooms: 5/5 | Service: Read less

Toilet seat needs tightening its a bit loose

Breakfast was excellent. About a 10 minute walk to the shopping area and New Street train station. Nice and quiet at night and no outside noise. Aircon was amazing in the room as it was quite warm there. Shower was super powerful. Would definitely stay again.

The double bed was very small for 2 adults and the pull out bed was extremely small even for 2 children and not very comfortable. I would prefer a second double bed or 2 singles for the next stay. Duvets were extremely light and not wide enough for the beds. I would probably upgrade if the option is available.

The rooms are spacious, and the beds are so comfy that I did not want to get up. The staff were helpful in allowing us to leave our luggage before checking in. Breakfast is good with a variety to suit everyone We requested extra coffee, which the staff obliged and soon went to get us some

The breakfast was busy and although the staff were busy and trying to keep on top of everything, the cutlery stand was left empty which meant there were no knives or forks for breakfast therefore meaning you had to either wait which meant breakfast went cold or as we did use a spoon to butter our toast

The room was lovely and the bathroom was clean and modern Breakfast was very good, with choices of everything you could want and even though it was busy, it didnt feel crowded and looked clean at all times Reception staff were very helpful

I booked a twin room, but when we arrived at 3.15pm were told there were none available, and we'd have to have a double room. I wasn't happy with that, and after a while of looking on the system and the receptionist going up to the rooms, it was because housekeeping hadn't released the rooms as they were still cleaning. The guy on reception was really helpful throughout, apologised and offered us a free drink while we waited for the room. Another thing was the lack of plugs in the room

The room on the eighth floor was very quiet, modern and comfortable, and the shower was good and spacious. When I first checked in and went to room 804 it stank heavily of cigarette smoke. As I was in a hurry to go out again, I thought that sorting it out was going to hold me up. However, after a call to reception the desk colleague came up personally within 5 minutes and had sorted a good room only a few doors away, so thank you to him. Hotel is close to Birmingham Snow Hill railway station and about 7 min walk from New St. The buffet breakfast had good options and was in a two level, lounge/foyer area.

Its a big hotel with a lot of floors, so it wasn't good that when I arrived two of the three lifts were out of service, which makes for a lot of waiting. Fortunately I could use stairs (which as usual are not kept particularly 'customer-presentable', or well advertised though).

The staff here were incredible. I have a food allergy that isn't common and they were able to create for me a meal for me using ingredients from other dishes. I accidentally booked an accessible room, but they were able to switch us to a regular room with no issues as I felt the accessible room should be left open for someone who needed it. When the remote for the TV didn't work, they provided us with a different one. The TV is a smart TV and enables you to log into several streaming services to watch on, just don't forget to log out when you leave! They validate parking at the B4 parking garage to £14.50 for up to 24 hours. It is a short walk to a tram stop to get into Central Birmingham or a short walk, but without being in the center of the city.

The lamp on the desk in our room had a broken on/off switch.

the manager- whose name i didnt get was excellent and provided excellent customer service for my mother who has a mobility disability. the staff on reception were generally very good also.

on the 17th floor there was a strong smell fo cigarettes and it seems people were smoking somewhere- which presents a health and safety fire risk and difficulties for people with respitory problems. i did report this to reception. also a customer attended breakfast on Saturday morning in his pijamas which i think is not acceptable- but he was unchallenged by stafff about this. This will impact adversely on the hotel should it persist.

Very clean room. Nice bathroom- contained everything we needed- shower gel, shampoo etc and towels. Very comfortable bed. We were quite close to the lift but not disturbed by any noise at all. Very quiet, relaxing and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of food

Access at night- our card did not work to let us in and we hadn't been advised to ring the doorbell we were stood outside with another guest who was trying to get the attention of the staff and we ended up knocking on the bar window to attract the other guests to let us in.
