The young lady that checked us in was outstanding, helped park the car and arranged for an early breakfast next morning. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Quiet area with a nice view of Pena Palace and Moor Castle. It is great that they do have some parking spaces

Getting there by car is not easy but manageable. Only one issue, which they need to fix. The bathroom sink has a sewer odour. It is easy to fix, I looked under the sink and there is no U joint. Having done some plumbing, they simply need to add U joint on the bathroom sink. A U joint holds water at the bottom and does not allow sewer gas to escape into room. What is under the sink now was never done by a plumber !!!

Ana Filipa was really nice, showed us the room and the property. The view was absolutely stunning and the bed was very comfy. Also, it is very near our favourite spots.

I found the bathroom a bit outdated, especially the shower, with the water spreading a lot. The room was nice and clean, but the walls are very thin and we could hear the people next door (especially those with small children), especially with the doors connecting the rooms. The view is stunning, but we don't get to see it much from inside the room, as people can walk around quite freely on the balcony and we don't feel we have enough privacy to keep the curtains open and enjoy the view.

the view, the location of the house, the garden...just perfect. we enjoyed our stay, the breakfast experience was very pleasant and most important, the hosts were extremely nice and helpful with our visit to the Pena Palace, helping us find a taxi in time

the only minus,for not giving the highest score is the mold scent in the room we had at the ground floor, despite visible efforts from the hosts to make that go away (multiple vents)

The staff at check in are super helpful with Parking and getting around the area. They saved our trip to Quinta de Regaleira by calling us a local taxi. Do not use Bolt in this area! The breakfast is great and customizable. There is a kitchen area that you can use with plates, silverware, oven and Microwave which was great for heating leftovers. The property uses all reusable and sustainable materials for breakfast and in room amenities. There is a hot pot for tea and coffee in the room along with a mini fridge. The views from the terrace were amazing. You could see all the castles and even the farm across the valley with sheep! There is even a little library.

The location can be hard to drive to. I would consider taking a taxi from Lisbon next time since having a car in Sintra is more of a burden than a convenience. The pool was a little deep for kids.

Casa do Valle is a truly charming place where we were welcomed with exceptional warmth and care. We were a group of four, and the hotel thoughtfully gave us two adjacent rooms — it felt like having our own private floor. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with a peaceful, relaxing vibe. The staff were incredibly kind: they let us store our luggage before check-in, gave us a warm welcome and a tour of the property, and even helped us figure out the best route to our next stop using public transport. The breakfast was also a highlight — served right to our room. We didn’t expect much based on the menu, but it turned out to be both generous and delicious.

- The hotel is located on a hillside — not quite at the top, but the climb up to the historic center from there can be a bit challenging, especially with luggage. - Because of the hotel’s proximity to the old town, it’s not possible to get a taxi right to the door.

We were in a quiet neighborhood with a fantastic view but only about a 12 minute walk to the central touristy area with stores and restaurants. We had a great breakfast brought to our room at our chosen time. There was nothing cooked but a menu with a variety of options to choose from to make a tasty, nutritious and filling one. The property had a swimming pool and a communal cook house wth an attached, enclosed sunroom to sit and eat. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate! A bonus was being able to purchase wine and snacks there, especially when we arrived after a long trip and wanted to just relax with a glass of wine.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful eco friendly accommodation with the loveliest, welcoming, helpful staff. Located just a few minute’s walk from Sintra centre with restaurants and shops. Hillside views of the nearby iconic palace and castle. Walking distance to most attractions, uphill at times but not a difficult walk. Excellent breakfast basket brought to your room. We booked a superior room and it was exceptional. Shared fully equipped kitchen and barbecue if you wanted to cook and conservatory area to eat if you prefer not to eat on your terrace or patio area.

This place is the perfect example for why I love those smaller retreat hotels! Extremely friendly and attentive staff, a wonderful location nestled in the hills of Sintra, very cute rooms with a delightful view, a personalised, fresh breakfast delivered to your room... One extra word on the attentive staff: we travelled with a toddler and stayed at Casa do Valle over NYE, and in the afternoon of the 31st staff got in touch with us directly to inform us that another guest was planning to start up some fireworks just off the property at midnight, so we could plan ahead with our baby.

Nothing. If we ever return to Sintra, we will definitely return to Casa do Valle!
