The Norfolk is a step back in time in many ways but that is its charm. It is possibly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, it is immaculate! The staff are just lovely. A special mention to Isaac our waiter from Nigeria who served our breakfast every morning with the loveliest smile and attention to detail, Lisa on reception for her kindness, concern and reassurance when I lost my phone! And to Barry who also man’s reception but is also the quiz host with the most!!! Great sense of humour and clearly cares about the guest experience! Mum and I were even waved off by him when we left! (Could have been glad to see us go of course!) Due to its older style there is loads of storage in the room which was great for 2 women travelling together! Beds were comfy and the fan provided did its job when the weather was hot. Location was fab, very close to Howard Davis Park which is lovely, easy route to beach. Flat route into main town and Liberation Square was also an easy 10-15 min walk where you can get a bus anywhere (although there is a bus stops directly outside hotel if you don’t want to walk!).
As I said it is a bit dated so no aircon but fan worked well. We were more charmed by its quirks than bothered by them! The water is marked with caution hot…..do need to beware it really is very hot! There was a plug under the telly that we weren’t sure what it was for…..one day we could hear humming that started then stopped - realised when we opened a drawer that the plug led to the hairdryer in the drawer which we had accidentally turned on and the intermittent hum was as it was overheating it was turning off and then coming on again, potential fire hazard so would be worth labelling the plug 😊 forgot to mention it when we were there.

This is an old hotel, but very clean. The rooms are big. Good value for money. Included breakfast was well adequate. Not a lot of choice, but all that was needed - buffet cereals, then full English or continental breakfast, toast, all brought to the table, like a big boarding house. We did not have dinner included in cost, but our friend did. We had a few dinners there. Very reasonably priced, basic food (roasts), but a choice of 3 for entree, main, and dessert, including one vegetarian, menu changed every day for the week. If not included in price, part or all 3 courses could be purchased separately. Facilities were excellent. Pool, many deck chairs, an outside bar area, many comfortable lounges scattered around, little seating nooks, an inside bar area with DJ, not sure if all nights.
Location was good, but a good 15 minute walk to the bus station. However some of the buses stop right outside the front, and there was another stop outside the back car park. We found it more convenient to walk.

Central town location, convenient for main shopping area and restaurants. Under a 15 minute walk to Liberation square and the bus station, and with local shops and restaurants just a few minutes walk. Very good breakfasts with particularly pleasant and courteous serving staff. All the staff were friendly. Wi-fi service was good.
There was some noise disturbance from creaking floorboards and conversations etc. from the room above during the night. The TV screen was relatively small compared to those in certain budget hotel chains. Some of the furnishings and decor seemed somewhat dated, though comfortable and adequate.

We had a very warm welcome, all the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel was tastefully furnished with lots of seriously comfy sofas. There were a few bars and restaurants nearby and a couple of small Supermarkets down the road. The room was clean and breakfast was very good, all cooked fresh to order. Good tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Loved the outside courtyard with covered area and koi pond.
The location was very noisy, a bit like being in the middle of a racetrack. There was an airlock in the system of the room next door which sounded like a foghorn every time the toilet was flushed or taps used. When reported to reception, no-one else had reported it, not even the guests in that room. Although the bathroom facilities were good, the toilet paper provided was too thin. The swimming pool was a little dated, but although there was a changing room with shower, there was no toilet by the pool, the nearest one being in the hotel, via the courtyard. I feel the swim area would benefit from having a toilet nearer the pool.

The cleanliness was amazing. The staff was amazing.
Before booking, I read lots of reviews. Yes our room was a little dated, but that didn’t really matter to us. The bed was comfy, the sheets were crisp and clean, the bathroom was spotless, so don’t be put off cause people maybe didn’t like the carpets or wallpaper. The location of the Hotel was fantastic, eateries and shops 5 mins away in any direction. We also hired a car so the Hotel Car Park came in handy. Paying £5.00 for a ticket for your stay and refunded when you leave. All the staff were pleasant and courteous. We also had Breakfast included in our stay. Just got to give a Shout out the Scouser Bryan on Reception, he was amazing, very knowledgeable if you needed to know anything or where to go.

The location was very central and easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Although possibly the furnishings were a wee bit dated they were all in immaculate condition. The hotel had everything that we needed. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean.
My only one disappointment was that the room had a bath with a shower over it but when I went to run the water to have a bath there was no plug! We only have a shower at home do when we go on holiday if there is a bath it is a luxury to me!

Excellent find. Really good value.Clean.Good breakfast.Staff are excellent all round being consistently helpful and understanding,Karen the reservations manager was extremely helpful. Facilities are good. The hotel is very well situated in relation to the centre of St Helier with a wide range of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance! Regular service buses stop opposite the hotel. A fantastic holiday revisiting Jersey after nearly 50 years.; We will be back to the Norfolk!

Very clean, tidy and all the staff were very helpful. Room service was very good. There was a nice view to the north east of the city from our bedroom. The meals were very nice and the waiter service was prompt. Very easy to book in and out at reception. The location is close to and walking distance to the town centre. The pool was a clean and tidy bonus.
Only one minor point. The bathroom was small and and a bit cramped. The layout meant you had to close the door to get behind it to use the toilet. The shower was not very powerful so had to hand hold it to get the best out of it.

Very warm and friendly, staff were all lovely and did everything in their power to make sure we were comfortable. Lifts to all floors so great for disabled access. Also ample indoor parking area for mobility scooters. Central location and parking excellent. Definitely caters more for an older generation rather than families.
Very basic decor and food options but this is reflected in the price so no complaints there… Really recommend the Norfolk as a good budget choice to explore this beautiful island.

Very clean and comfortable room. Location was really close to the centre of St Helier. We managed to park in the car park every day. Pleased that we only needed to pay £5 deposit for car parking permit and get it returned at the end of the break. So many hotels charge a lot for parking. Staff werre very friendly and helpful. The house keeper was excellent and the room was perfectly cleaned on the occasions we needed it doing. Our waitress at breakfast, Anna, was really friendly and helpful and remembered our requirements.
The breakfast menu is standard and the same english breakfast quoted for every day, It would have been nice to have smoked fish occasionally or a lighter alternative and my husband didn't get any porridge, however the people at the next table said he could have asked for it. We didn't know. However, there was a buffet for cereals and fruit. We didn't book for the evening meal. Again the menu was set for each day and I noticed the people next to us who had half board had the odd day where they didn't like anything on the menu.
