Staff was very friendly and accomodating. It was a spontanious booking so we came late and left early.

Hotel is situated between 2 busy streets so during the day there is traffic noise but it dies down during the evening. I had no trouble sleeping. Being a 1960s building the outside and some of the interior may be a bit dated but the room I had was spotlessly clean, the bed comfy and the staff at reception were most friendly and super helpful. Cairns Central mall is about a 15 minute walk and the Esplanade about 26 minutes. The hotel does not serve breakfast but Goose Specialty Coffee is a great place for breakfast and is at the corner of the next intersection.

The bathroom is a bit spartan and could benefit from putting up a shelf.

The mini kitchen was a pleasant surprise, complete with tea and coffee amenities.

The location isn't ideal, as it's a 30-minute walk from the city center. The (mo)/(ho)tel has a somewhat shabby and budget feel. For natural light, you'll need to open the front window, but this compromises privacy as it's fully exposed to visitors. Keeping the curtains closed means daylight will only come from the bathroom window. If the rain, it's noisy. As for previous feedback about ants, it's not entirely accurate—keeping all food in the fridge should prevent any issues.

4 Night stay with the family, took the 2 Bedroom Apartment. Centrally Located. The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. It was a complete apartment with a kitchen although we did not cook much except for noodles, Did not have any inconveniences from other guests whatsoever. Check-in and Check-out was straight forward and staff were super nice even if our interaction was limited. There are a few food options close by but all delivery services deliver if take out is an option for you.

Nothing much really, If you are expecting luxury for you to chill, this is not the place for you, Its great if you are an outdoor person who uses it to rest and crash after a day of enjoying Cairns and what it has to offer on Holiday.

Hi guys. I've read horrible comments about the place. First of all, admittedly, it's not a new bldg so manage your expectations. However, the housekeeper made room very tidy including the sheets and floor. They also have tiny fridge, cup, teaspoon ,kettle, TV and sink with dishwasher and rug to clean or wash your dishes. We didn't use the pool although it looks lovely and clean. They also have barbecue area with complete tools and tables &chairs with umbrella if you want to stay outdoors.

First of all, it was weird to provide my bank account details although they said it's for security purposes due to instances of stealing their facilities. Next, some local who stays there warned us not to park outside due to crimes of cars being stolen, which stressed us out since it was hard to find a parking at night with tiny space inside for parking.

Our booking was upgraded upon checking in & my friend and I loved the room, the air conditioning provided, perfect shower pressure, amenities such as tea (my favourite), extra towels upon request, gorgeous pool/ sunscreen access & more than anything- we were both extremely impressed with the amazing service and hospitality of all staff. Namely, by the staff members Sarah, Ashley & another (male) member of staff in reception that we met initially, who were extremely kind and helpful to all of our requests & most likely repetitive questions about good restaurants to try & tours to go on etc. that were all answered with great recommendations. Pamphlets provided in the lobby were also helpful in booking tours during our stay.

I loved everything about staying at Hotel Tropiq, the only thing I can recall was slight staining on the mug & tea spoon. I still drank a lot of tea regardless :)

Great pool for swimming, even hough pouring with tropical rain it was refreshing with the humidity. . Plenty of eateries within 5 minute walk along Sheridan Street. ROOM had A/C. So lovely and cool. Tea and coffee making with sm bar fridge and a microwave. 1 Q bed 1 Single enough for 3 people, at a good price. Front desk staff approachable and friendly when I arrived early, they texted me to let me know when room was ready. You can book tours at the front desk, even if you don't have a car walk across the road to a bustop that gets you into the city, would stay here again.

Pool was great, salt water with a small spa connected. Great for kids too. Have stayed here twice. Rooms clean and with all amenities needed. Very accommodating staff. A few blocks walk from Reef marina, taxis are fast if unable to walk. Cafe on corner close by for all meals, including breakfast and drinks, also alcoholic drinks. 8 mins ($25-30 in a taxi) to airport. Upstairs or downstairs options for rooms. Rooms block a lot of noise. Tiled floors. Aircon. Good shower. Photos are an accurate representation.

Larger beds are quite hard, smaller beds a little better. Everything else okay.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tropiq. As a first time solo traveller the staff were incredibly welcoming and made my experience truly enjoyable. Ashley, in particular, was so kind and helpful, she was always keen to hear about what I had gotten up to during the day, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The hospitality here really stands out, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and friendly environment.

We loved the location of the hotel. So many options for local restaurants and also very close to the esplanade! Beautiful views from the balcony, amazing tropical themed family friendly pool, bbq, playground for the kids, laundry and all the basic amenities were there at a hand’s reach! Rooms were clean and tidy, with a mini fridge, kettle etc, ample plug points to charge multiple devices, large bathroom with continuous supply of toiletries from the reception! For the staff, they were so friendly and welcoming. The gentleman in the reception was amazing and helpful to make our stay so comfortable undeniably. We were so pleased to enjoy our Easter weekend with such great hospitality! We will definitely come back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
