Renovations appear to be complete and staff is friendly and very helpful. Being away from city center—and as one of the last accommodations on the road—the beach is uncrowded and gave quite a private feel. The fire pit makes an evening outside inviting. We didn’t use the pool but it’s kept clean. Tall primordial forest dune trees shade enough of the outdoor area to keep the afternoon temperature very pleasant. The serve yourself breakfast had much variety and the lemon-poppyseed scones were a treat! Ask for a to go bag if it looks like you’ll miss breakfast :). We had chairs but the offer of chair & umbrella rentals is a nice touch.

We knew there was no beach view yet didn’t realize the beautiful “forest” and height of the dune would block much of the waves sound. And, tho we increased the temp of our room hoping to reduce the time our ac unit ran, it (and all the others) on balconies won over even stormy waves.

The breakfast was good. One morning they ran out of coffee and it took awhile before it was replenished. The balcony off of our room, overlooking the pool was great. The proximity to the beach was excellent with the boardwalk over the dunes and woods easy.

Not knowing there is an entrance fee onto the island. It’s called a parking fee by the state park and since we were parking at the hotel we couldn’t figure out why we had to pay it. Turns out it’s really just an entrance fee into the park and since it’s only $10, no big deal. You do have to pay it everyday if you leave the island. An explanation beforehand would have been helpful.

The location was great. Loved being able to walk to the beach and play in the pool after. The pool was very kid friendly. My 3 & 4 yr old loves being able to walk and play in it! Breakfast was one of the better hotel breakfasts that we’ve had. Lots of options and something for everyone. The staff was helpful and let us use a mini crib for our baby during our stay. All in all we had a great time and would definitely go back!

The room was a bit musty and warm when we arrived. We also heard dogs go up and down hall at 2am. That was loud for our kids.

The hotel was close to the beach, but with no beach views. We came with two children, a 7 year old and a baby. The hotel was very family friendly. My daughter loved the beach, but my son preferred the pool. We were there for July 4th. We didn't go see the fireworks, but many families did and said you could see them from the beach access. We stayed at the pool while everyone else watched the fireworks. the pool area was fantastic. The beach was not too crowded at all. I was thankful it was away from the main area of hotels on Jekyll Island. That set this hotel apart.

As with most hotels, the ceilings and walls were thin. We were woken up every night at 12:30 by the people above us returning, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. I am sure my baby waking at 3 am every night probably woke someone else up too. That is how hotel stays are.

Loved the location of the hotel - nice and quiet and a little bit away from the main village. The room was great and extremely clean. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice.

I knew there would be construction but I wasn't prepared for how much there was. We had to avoid wet paint when getting on the elevator, entire hallways and entrances were closed off, we woke up to drilling sounds, etc. It was still a nice stay but this definitely took away from the experience.

The location and the price.

We had been told the previous day (on the phone) that we had our requested K room on the top floor facing the pool. However, upon checking in the reception said there was no such note. The 2Q room on 4th floor was horrible. Impossible to get into bed and the chair was very worn and torn on the arms. So they put us in a K room on second floor where they put dogs which we do not like. Then, we could not get our honors points because we had booked through Booking.com. We should still get our points for the 4 nights stay!

The beds were very comfortable and the room was larger than I expected. I liked that there was a fridge and microwave in the room. My ten year old loved the pool. Breakfast was good every day.

There were a few times there seemed to be staffing issues. One night I stopped by the lobby to buy bottled water and I had to go find the front desk person outside on her phone on a personal call. Another night the bartender called out and they could only get a replacement for a short while so the bar closed at 9:30.

It's one of the best beaches on the island with soft white sand. With the Inn being on the southern half of the island, it does not get the black sticky tar common on Driftwood Beach or the black grime found in the sand on Driftwood. If you want a pretty beach, stay here. The beach felt private with only a few people using it in March.

We miss a high rise view of the beach and ocean common to the Gulf of Mexico.

The location is excellent. It's on the beach, at a quiet section of the island and there is no other property to the north. Therefore, the beach is not crowded. The pet policy at Hampton Inn is better than many of the other hotels on the island.

It was fine for us, but the boardwalk to the beach has very steep stairs at either end, so the beach is inaccessible to anyone who has mobility issues or a very old dog.

Location, reception/ ease of checkin. Didn’t use the free shuttle service but that was nice to have. Very short walk across boardwalk over to the beach which is away from busier part of the island.

Nothing that stood out. Place may have some minor renovation work going on but not in the main area.
