Loved the beautiful lobby area and the reception staff were so friendly and welcoming - always said hello whenever we went out and came back - not something you find in many places these days, so that was lovely as it gives a sense of familiarity and rapore, which is something we really appreciate.

Nothing in particular, everything was fine for us, the only thing I can really say I felt would make our stay even better would be to perhaps offer 2 drinking glasses with the hospitality tray,. We did use the bathroom cups but the plastic didn't do much for our wine 😂. Aside from that, everything was great! We will be returning!

I wanted to take a moment to recognise the exceptional service provided by the reception team at The Link Hotel, Loughborough, during a very difficult time for my family. Following the passing of my wife’s father in the early hours of Saturday, I made a last-minute booking for Saturday and Sunday night. Upon our arrival, the young man working at the desk around 1pm showed great understanding and compassion. Aware of the situation, he ensured a swift check-in and made sure our room was ready immediately, allowing my wife some much-needed privacy to begin grieving. On Monday morning, as we prepared to check out, we faced several tasks that could not be completed until later in the day. The lady at reception around 9:30am was equally supportive, allowing us the time we needed to remain in the room without any pressure. She truly put our needs first and even waived the additional fee, which we deeply appreciated. Both staff members made an incredibly tough time a little more bearable through their kindness and professionalism. I sincerely hope they receive the recognition they deserve, and I will be sharing this experience on review sites and recommending The Link Hotel to others. Thank you again for your outstanding care and service.

The bedroom was well laid out. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Large tv opposite the bed was good. Plenty of tea and coffee on the desk. We had 2 lamps either side of the bed. Mine only worked on the spot lamp and my wife's only worked on the lamp. It was a nice touch to have air conditioning in the room and we made good use of it. The bathroom was well equipped. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't use the bar or restaurant as there were only two couples using it and it seemed too quiet for us. We went to the Harvester next door, but the meal was average. Plenty of free parking.

The postcode on the website sent us through a housing estate and down a lane which was blocked off. We used the postcode for the harvester and found it on a main road. The bedside lamps did not work properly. We only stayed 1 night so it wasn't too much trouble.

Room as ever comfortable and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Missing tissues in the room. Breakfast et choices very good and food served warm . Pity plates were not warm (health and safety?). Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Snacks machine very overpriced - more than £3 for a bag of crisps. Pity range of snacks at sensible prices couldn’t be sold at the bar. Lovely to have parking so easy and position of hotel very convenient. Didn’t see a notice to bus times in the hotel which would have been helpful e.g. a trip to Leicester. Good value for a Sunday night, but looks expensive mid week. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

The staff were very friendly at check in and there was plenty of room in the free car park although you need to make sure you type in your car registration at the desk. One of the reasons I had rejected other hotels was due to having to pay for parking. The room was really big and the bed was massive and very comfy. There was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk sachets which was great. One of my pet hates is when hotels are stingy with the coffee and milk in the room so this was a really nice surprise for what is essentially a budget hotel. I had taken my own coffee and coffee mate with me, fully expecting to need to use them! Shower gel, shampoo and soap were also provided as well as bags for sanitary waste. I really liked this attention to detail. There was plenty of hanging and storage space and the heating in the room was great. The shower was hot and powerful and the towels were clean and soft. The big tv and free wifi were perfect. Superb hotel for my 1 night stay.

Upon entering the room there was a really strong chemical smell, I assume from whatever products they had used to clean and disinfect the bathroom/room. It was so strong they had actually left the window open and I had to leave it open most of the time as the smell was that strong and didn't dissipate. I appreciate the need to sanitize and clean thoroughly however the smell was eye watering it was that strong.

Rooms a bit dated but understand the hotel is due for a refurbishment. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. there was a good choice for breakfast and the buffet had choices for hot food and more continental breakfast. Rooms were quiet and good air-conditioning.

As mentioned the rooms are a little dated, and things like no plugs near the beds a nuisance for phones etc. The bedroom fittings were good, although again could be improved. I think evening meals are served but there was no menu in the room which might have helped.

Had a lovely stay here whilst attending Download Festival. The room was spacious and comfortable with the breakfast being delicious. The staff were excellent and wonderful to speak with. One of the managers helped me big time when it came to light that there was an issue with my booking as it was charging me for an extra person. If you are ever in the area, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Looking forward to the next time.

Only minor issue was there was no phone in the room to call for room service so had to use my own phone.

Very well presented and clean, bright and spacious throughout. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was very clean, good sized and well equipped with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in our package and it was very good, buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice of fruit, cereals, pastries, yogurts, cooked breakfast items, toast and spreads, hot and cold drinks. It was better than some far more expensive places we've stayed and we would definitely stay again.

The air con unit flashed all night and was annoying but I was told by reception all units are due to be replaced in the near future, which will alleviate that issue. If it hadn't been for this, I'd have given a 10/10

Location, 15 minutes walk to East side of Loughborough university, bed was huge and very comfortable, very clean, easy check-in, breakfast delicious and plenty of choice.

I did email twice to try and included breakfast to my booking beforehand as cheaper, but they sent me a ‘standard email’ that only included dinner menu. Also squeaky floorboards outside room, that did wake me up, but not at an unreasonable time, so wouldn’t stop me booking there again.

The staff went above and beyond to help me out during my stay. I am really pleased that this email came through to rate the hotel as I had left some feedback in the hotel and hoped that the staff would be praised. The room was super comfy, perfect location for visiting my daughter at uni. The lobby area was really welcoming and a comfortable environment to hang out playing cards in the evening too x

Everything was perfect!
