Immaculately clean and tidy. Modern fittings. Huge bed. A nice quiet setting within Gretna Green. Love Gretna Green and have an interest in its history … got married in the Old Blacksmiths Shop and as I’m a direct descendent of the Gretna Green Anvil Priest’s: David Lang 1755-1827 (my 5x great grandfather) and Simon Lang 1790-1872 (my 4x great grandfather) … would have been great to have access to more history of this lovely old building.

Toilet windows to room 103 fitted in the bedroom. Have stopped in accommodation previously where the view is very limited. Would prefer to have the option just to close the curtains/blinds and not to have that option taken away and left feeling a little claustrophobic inside an enclosed small space (… although a nice small space 😉).

Bit disappointed with the door that left to next door then having be moved to downstairs but all was dealt with good by Marie manager and Jackie also thanks very much as it worked out better the room. The bath wasn't ad big nor the room but think I'd of struggled more due to disabilities. Breakfast fantastic 1st morning. This ( sun ) was cold and couldn't eat. Food lastnight fantastic 😋 ad was the service to out room and all hot . Brilliant 👏 we shall be coming again and hopefully stay in different room but on the ground floor again with patio. Thank you 😊

Sort the intertwining doors out. They are unexceptable under Amy circumstances especially if non related etc.

It was beautiful inside and outside. The interior of the reception, bar, restaurant areas were very well decorated and stylish. The rooms were very modern, clean and cosy. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. Location was perfect, just a short walk / drive away from the Caledonia Designer Outlet. Very nice touch upon check in with delicious cookies handed to us. Breakfast was really reasonable to add on to our stay at £10 per person and was great value with the selection available.

We stayed on the ground floor and there was a bit of noise from whoever was staying in the room above but it wasn’t anything to fault the hotel for.

Room a little small, we did try to upgrade prior to stay, but nothing available. Nowhere suitable to hang wedding dress and mirror a long way from dressing table, for getting ready/make up. Nit muh room to move around, with our extra wedding outfits. Arrived 15 mins early prior to our early, paid for, check in time. Was told flatly that our room wasn't ready. The receptionist didn't look up anything or check. We were getting married 2 hours later and had just completed a 2 hour drive. I felt this was a little disappointing.

We’ve had many pre covid family weekends at GH but none since the refurb, place looks so much better and modern looking but the old worlde feel still exists

Our only complaint was the breakfast and it’s so hard to cope with so many people turning up during the time span of breakfast serving, however for us juts after 9am plenty food left but it was all lukewarm and cold plates to put it on. Our evening meal the previous night however couldn’t be faulted. As a suggestion they should move the smokers away from the main exit door at the front as when both doors open it blows a gale into the bar area along with the smoke that comes with it.

Lovely large room with plenty of space for suitcases etc. large bay window overlooking the green at the front. Beautiful dining room with excellent meals. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was much bigger than we expected and our visit coincided with several coachloads of tourists. This made mealtimes very busy and noisy. Not the fault of the hotel by any means but not to our style, we prefer something more cosy and intimate. The carpet in our room was looking quite tired and stained. It didn't help that the room above us allowed their bath to overflow and leaked water down on to our floor making the carpet very wet. Not the fault of the hotel but it could perhaps have been handled better.

Beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location, set in stunning grounds. The room was lovely, with complimentary water, tea coffee and fruit teas and biscuits. Bed was very comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast was delicious! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. My daughter lost a wedding card she was given, and staff went above and beyond to locate it, which we very much appreciated.

Only minor and didn’t spoil my stay, but a fridge in the room would be nice

Beautiful location, well maintained gardens & plenty of parking available. The hotel was very clean and the staff were fantastic, so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable bed. We didn't have dinner at the hotel so cannot comment on that but we did have breakfast & it was very nice. Plenty of choice & the hot food was replenished regularly.

The room was smaller than I expected. The bathroom layout wasn't thought through as the toilet was between the sink unit and wall which had the heated towel rail. This made using the toilet a tight squeeze with very little room to maneuver.

Lovely hotel with charm and character. My room was spacious and immaculate with a very comfy bed. After a very long drive, I decided to eat in the restaurant. I was not disappointed; it was delicious and very well priced. The cooked breakfast buffet was very good with a good range of items. The hotel is very easy to reach from the motorway, therefore lends itself to an overnight stop and is well worth it.

Poor range of fruit, cereals and other continental breakfast items, not in keeping with my overall experience of the hotel. The coffee also wasn't the best - just from a cheap and cheerful self-service machine, which served the whole dining room.

Once we got used to the complicated lay out of the hotel we enjoyed our stay very much. Our stay was only for one night one night, we had Dinner on the Saturday evening and entertained a family guest and rated the meal as Very Good and the same for breakfast on the Sunday morning. One problem that we did have was that we normaly put the Post Code into the car Sat Nav but in this case the Sat Nav announced "you have reached your destination" but we were nowhere near the Hotel. We were able to obtain directions from a pedestrian but actualy drove past the hotel at least once as your sign was not very prominant.
