I have stayed here a number of times recently on business. On this visit my wife and in-laws joined me and loved it. Both of our rooms were upgraded at no extra cost. The short walk through the woods behind the hotel is lovely. Great staff, breakfast, location, grounds, building character, lounge and bar area.
It would be perfect if they recommissioned their spa and pool facilities - when I want these, I stay elsewhere. I always choke at hotel bar prices, unfortunately this is no different.

The staff at the hotel were exceptional - very friendly and very very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble from eating in the bar at our request to helping to contact a garage to help with a car problem.
The drive up from the road to the hotel was narrow and some drivers drove too fast. One narrow escape. Not the hotel fault but I think that there needs some traffic calming hardwear on the driveway as there is at the very bottom of the drive by the road.

We had our wedding reception here 30 years ago and so returned for our anniversary. It was a bit like coming home-it had changed but was the same. Instead of the swimming pool there is a lovely sized ‘posh gazebo’ (this phrase doesn’t do it justice), which allows for inside/outside dining etc. and really adds something to the outside area. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. The dinner and breakfast was a really good standard. We even had some celebratory chocolate from the team post dinner-to celebrate our Anniversary which was thoughtful. Our room-we swear it was the same room we had on our wedding evening-but redecorated-was spacious clean and tastefully decorated. The bar choice was good and staff knew how to make a good Aperol spritz ( you’d be surprised how many good places don’t). Maybe we shouldn’t leave it so long to go back next time!

Exceptional staff throughout the hotel. Just wonderful. This is a hotel with no flaws. It instantly becomes a home from home and the staff ensure that your stay is as close to perfect as they can make it. We love it and we will always stay when visiting the many friends we have in Glamorgan. It’s a great feeling these days to find a very special Hotel. The Coed y Mwstwr Hotel is very special indeed.

Beautiful rural location. Rooms were smart and well decorated with soft bed linen and fluffy towels. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty although the coffee was a bit feeble. The bar area was comfortable and the bar staff lovely.
I requested a quiet room and I was away from the noise of the bar and restaurant but next to the kitchen extraction fans! Good double glazing meant it wasn't that bad though

The evening meal was absolutely delicious! We had 3 courses and we sent compliments to the chefs!
Bank holiday Monday breakfast was very muddled and we waited three quarter hour’s for our order, don’t blame staff as they were run off their feet and short staffed,( our order had been delivered to someone else by mistake),they were very apologetic and the following morning breakfast was excellent and so was the service!

I have stayed here quite a few times now, we really love this hotel. The staff make it, customer service is superb and nothing too much trouble. It's such a hidden gem if you fancy a relaxing night away, would suit girls trip, couple or solo.
Some rooms are looking tired these days and the cleaning standards were lower I felt. Just the little bits that had been missed within the rooms, other guests hairs on furniture etc.

The location and the overall room The breakfast was excellent and the staff very experienced
A bit noisy as the bathroom air extractor is noisy and it starts when lighting on the bathroom and stops 2min after switching off… Also our room 20 was close to an external engine which started during the night and continued up to checkout. A loud continuous noise which was unpleasant. All the rest is excellent.

Food was nice Staff very friendly Grounds attractive Room spacious and nice. Overall good value Enjoyed stay and would come again.
Charge for having a dog for one night felt a bit excessive (small non-shedding dog essentially no added cost to the hotel). Some of the potential charges listed (such as cost if key lost) could be easily rolled into overall charge to feel less officious.

Everything! From the first moment we entered the manor we were greeted so warmly, the lady even offered us a better bigger room in the house which was a generous and pleasant surprise after a long drive. The bedroom was beautifully designed, clean, and well equipped. The food was incredibly tasty and classy. And the barman was a great conversationalist telling us all about the spooky history of hauntings in the manor.
Nothing, it was a wonderful stay!
