We attended a birthday party in a very nice large and interesting room which was perfect. The staff attending the party were superb, and the 3 course meal could not have been better. The gardens around the castle were lovely and the public rooms were most comfortable
On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded to a Castle room. But the room we were allocated (27)was actually very dingy, and not very attractive, rather tired, and disappointing. But having said that the bed itself was very good indeed and we slept well. And the shower was good.

The room was comfortable, warm, convenient, clean and the bath was a delight. The after-dinner ghost tour in the dungeon and public spaces was a real added bonus and not something we were expecting at all. The restaurant staff kindly accommodated our preference to have a series of small dishes with side salads rather than the somewhat heavier main dishes on the menu. You need to keep hold of Ashley as a member of staff, she honestly made our stay with her excellent service and management of the restaurant and then the super-friendly ghost tour after tea.
Personally I would have liked decaffeinated tea bags available with the tea making facilities, and more milk sachets so I could have more than one cup of tea. I would also have preferred brighter and higher bedside lamps so that I could read in bed without having to get up to put the main light on and off. There were not enough salad and vegetable dishes on the standard menu for my tastes, but as I mentioned above the staff were kind enough to accommodate our requirements.

The hotel had both modern facilities and yet had a wonderful period atmosphere. The receptionist was exceptional and communicated with everyone. We were also given a small heater incase the room wasnt warm enough. Meals were very good and Christmas lunch beautiful and tasty. Good choice for breakfast. I was also able to look at other rooms for future visits. Which we will be doing.
The only thing was at breakfast the table wasnt cleared and reset before we sat down and dirty pots were left on top of the piano. The two staff serving didnt seem overly busy

Beautiful historical building. Our rooms were huge, very clean and tastefully decorated. Staff were amazing. It has a dungeon! And we were kindly given a little tour of it.
It could have been warmer on arrival. I understand there are probably limitations due to being listed but turn on the radiators maybe? Rooms were spacious but a bit bare. No minibar in a suite ? Also would benefit from a better light near the dressing table so we can see when drying hair & a full length mirror. Still loved the place though. Being able to stay in such a historic building is wonderful.

Friendly staff, convenient location, impressive building - it is after all a castle! Comfortable room and good food. Outstanding was the quality of service given roads around the hotel were unexpectedly flooded due to huge amounts of overnight rain. With one chef caught in the flood and the substitute stuck in traffic (caused by the flood), the manageress and team did a stirling job of ensuring at least hot croissants and porridge when a full english no longer poss. Satnav and local radio had not caught up with the weather/traffic situation but brilliant receptionist came up with a route which took us safely to the A1 south (if we'd followed our satnav it would have taken us literally hours!!)

The hotel setting, the building and location were fabulous. The staff were amazing and the restaurant food was delicious.
We had a double room and stayed with 2 other couples who had a twin room and a double room. Our double room cost the same but it was very small and there was no room for moving around properly without squeezing past each other. The bathroom was tiny. We would say this was a single room. Compared to the size of the others we saw, it was not value for money on that basis. Our double room had a much smaller bed than our family in another double room. It was clean and the bed was very comfy so no complaints other than the size for what we paid.

The Castle is setin beautiful surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 1189 Restaurant is very quirky (I assume 1189 is when the castle was built) and the food was superb. The room had a bath - I know these are becoming unfashionable and we only have a shower at home but it really makes a difference. We were supplied with an iron on request and given a complimentary bottle of water when we left.
We were in the annexe in room 1 and the wifi doesn't stretch that far. That said it wasn't a problem as there was a good TV with plenty of channels.

Our room was in the wing away from the castle and was the cheapest on offer so we were unsure of what to expect. However it was a lovely room. Nicely decorated, furnishings and bathroom all scrupulously clean and in good repair, and a bath/ shower. It had everything you need for a night away from home... Tea & coffee facilities, toiletries, towels, TV, mirror, dressing table, hanging space and best of all a large comfy bed. It was quiet and we had no trouble at all getting a good night's sleep. In the morning there was plenty of hot water. Castle location and lovely room elevated this quick overnight stop off to a really pleasant stay.
We thought ÂŁ15 pp for breakfast was a bit steep and decided to go elsewhere.

We had a wonderful stay here. It was for our 26th wedding anniversary and the staff certainly made it a very special occasion. The staff were very attentive and approachable. They certainly couldn't have done any more than they did for us. The breakfast and evening meals were to perfection and again nothing was a problem if you wanted to adjust the meal a little. We loved the stay in one of the turrets and the whole history of the castle, the dungeon tour was very interesting as well. Overall we can't thank the staff enough for the friendly welcome we received. You have a fantastic team behind you here at Walworth Castle and we certainly look forward to seeing you all again soon. I booked a twin room as a surprise for my wife, as we were returning from Scotland to Norwich, so to break the journey I booked a night here & from the moment we drove in, my wife loved it, the receptionist was extremely helpful & very happy with a great smile, as did all the staff, the bar staff were great too, everything went well, even for a fussy eater, my wife had a good choice for the evening meal, service was brilliant as to the food, too much for my wife, but all very tasty & served with a smile, the only down side was the twin beds in room 1 in the West Wing, a little short & slightly uncomfortable, bit of creaking going on when turning over, but ok.. apart from the beds, excellent & thank you to the management for your really nice helpful staff, 👍
The twin beds, were a bit uncomfortable & creaked when moving to turn over.. but the quilts were so soft & light
