The trip to Svalbard was wonderful experience and the hostel and its team were big part of it. They all went extra mile to help and advise even before my arrival to Svalbard. Hostel was clean, cosy, had everything what one may need, including fully equipped kitchen. The breakfast was just perfect, something for everyone. I personally loved the location, away from town centre and busy area. The walk took around 20 min but you were surrounded with beautiful nature, great views and wildlife. What else should you want? Thank you for making my stay memorable. I would stay again! Xx
Nothing to dislike. đ

Great and friendly vibe Comfortable room and bed; everything is very clean; good showers Very good and relaxed breakfast Opportunity to book tours
Not a negative but something to note - itâs 35-40 min walk into town; not a huge problem though.

The guesthouse has perfect facilities, such as two lovely common rooms and a kitchen with a nice view. The breakfast is super tatsy and sufficient to give you energy for the fullday. The staff at the reception is very helpful especially if itâs a bout organizing a taxi. The walk to the city center (35min) is very lovely and can be done easily without the danger of a polar-bear encounter. Furthermore, the guesthouse has the perfect location if you wanna see the northern lights. Directly next to the polar Bear sign one can easily see the aurora and enjoy the stunning view over Longyearbyen and the mountains.

This is my 2nd time here! The staff were so helpful as always. Special thanks to Angie and Khristin who made my stay as comfortable as possible. They serve breakfast in the morning and help you with booking expeditions outside of Longyearbyen! There is a kitchen with enough fridges and if you donât feel like cooking thereâs coal miners just one minute away! If you donât feel like walking to the grocery store they have some commodities to sell at the reception! The showers were sooooo big itâs actually nice to relax after a day out! Thereâs a small area with couches to enjoy some peace away from the dorm :) Important note: it is NEVER cold in the dorms despite the very negative temperatures outside! I always like coming back here itâs like having a family in Svalbard
Itâs a bit far from city centre but you get to be in Nybyen which is perfect for northern lights. You also get to enjoy the walk to town!

My single bed apartment with a desk, great wardrobe and a washbasin was very convenient. I could really rest, organize myself and work a little bit between my crazy activities on Svalbard. Breakfasts are quite good, free tea, coffee and some more extras are 24h. The stuff is very nice and helpful. The location is not so far away from the center - about 25 mins on foot and there are plenty of street lamps on the way, so no worries by night. Great location for starting daily hiking trips. If you need some more attractions, there is a bar next door at Coal Miners and a gallery (some exhibitions and an art shop, opens usually every second day).
The place is usually a little bit crowded especially the entrance area, but there is everything in one building (the reception, breakfast, kitchen, small saloon), so there is no need to go outside to another buildings.

Good option to stay in Longyear! The room and bathrooms were warm, clean and cosy. Very friendly staff - always smily and ready to help. Good soundproofing - you donât hear neighbours. A little bit away from centre of the city, but it makes possible to see North Light near the hotel. You can buy beer and some snack on reception, so you donât need to go to shop for it. 24-hours access to hot water, tee, coffee. You can stay in hotel and drink something hot even after checkout when you is waiting for bus to airport. We come here back again!
The same breakfasts every day - only bread, cheese and salami for toasts and waffles with jams. It would be perfect if it will be possible to have for breakfast something warm - omelette, scrambled eggs and sausages

The Vibe of this place is awesome. The staff are super cool, polite, caring helpful- Angie and the rest team have a bright smile on their face and they are well dressed too. The kitchen has almost everything and the living room too is comfy and nice. The breakfast is good compared to the price we are paying- canât expect champagne on a beer budgetđ The bathrooms, toilets and the rooms and bedsheets and duvets are super clean- cheers and kisses to the house keeping staffđđ»đđ» The property is a very cool place, spend sometime knowing about it. The picture frames are very precious and they must be seen and read. You will be happy that you witnessed some history by staying here. Huset is a restaurant nearby its close to be a Michellin star and itâs classy and yes expensive BUT on Saturdayâs they have a damm cheap lunch/ dinner for only 210 Nkrone. Its their kindness and gratitude of giving back. Go hungry and enjoy the delicious steak with unlimited side dishes. The property is at the end of city so itâs a nice location to see the Northern lights- just peek from all the windows ( front, back, and both sides) and if you see them bundle up and go out in Groups. The city centre is a 2.5 km walk one way, itâs a nice exercise but go in groups. Polar bears have not been seen in city BUT Never say Never- Caution is better The most awesome thing about this place is the Guests- travellers from different corners of the world, talking to them and also sharing your stories is such a lovely interaction. The tips and experiences you hear and get are invaluable and yes you will make some great life long friends. Keep wandering and spread your smiles.
As i said, The city centre is a 2.5 km walk one way, itâs a nice exercise but go in groups. If you are tired, itâs better hire a taxi. Polar bears have not been seen in city BUT Never say Never- Caution is better. The taxis are a bit expensive and the thing I did not like is some drivers try charging per person. The taxi is hired by me so I have right to take as many passengers that can sit legally in that taxi. Someone must let the Governor know about this, so that it does not spoil the tourism. Also, The Northern lights tour must be second day free if the tour does not see N. lights on their first day- this is the normal in Iceland

i loved the staff, all very friendly and informative. the included breakfast contained waffles, toast and hot/cold beverages that I enjoyed each day. the showers are potentially the best showers in any hostel I've been to, being very spacious with hot water needed in such a cold landscape. lastly I liked the lounge. they had 2, and each had a very comfortable sofa with soft pillows and a TV you could stream shows with. Had amazing time talking to fellow travellers!
The bed felt a bit sturdy and the pillows were a bit too soft. The distance to town is roughly 35min walking.

Like it really much, the staffs were incredibly friendly, met different people across different countries. The toilets are really spacious. Overall good value for money.
The only thing I donât quite like is the amount of charging spots in the room. Should have one beside every bed or so. But overall itâs ok still since the room that I was staying was not fully occupied.

It was a cozy stay, everything was clean and even sharing bathrooms didn't create any issues- we didn't need to wait in a queue and everything was clean. The view from the room was great- straight to the mountains, we loved waffles for breakfast and it was great to have access to common kitchen as well.
It was not a big issue for us, since we like walking, but it is more remote from the town center, so requires some walking back and forward to the town. Otherwise all tours were picking up us from the guest house and dropping back.
