Elva, Nicholas and Medico are a first class reception team: knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. They set the standard and staff in all other parts of the hotel matched it. Breakfast offered a good variety: fresh fruit, cereal, toast and a hot plate that changed from day to day. Excellent standard of cleanliness. It was very helpful to have a room that had been adapted for wheelchair users. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.

A small fridge in the room would be helpful: Kisumu is a hot place, and to come back to some cold water would have been nice.

The central location of Imperial Hotel Express Kisumu, which made it easy to get around the city and access key places like the airport and shopping areas. The staff were warm, professional, and made the stay welcoming. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, great for both work and relaxation. I also appreciated the hotel’s modern, eco-friendly features, like solar heating and energy-efficient systems.

There was no mirror in the room suitable for dressing, which made getting ready a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the noise from the street outside could be quite noticeable at times, especially during the night.

Amazing service from very friendly staff. The room was very clean, and both the AC and hot water worked perfectly. We were allowed to check in early, and upon check-out, since we wanted to spend a few more hours exploring the city, they kindly stored our luggage in a secure room. They were very accommodating with everything. The breakfast was also very good.

The hotel lacks a terrace or an open space to relax and enjoy some fresh air during the day—it can feel a bit enclosed.

Imperial Hotel Express is a great value. I've stayed here twice and will definitely stay again. All of the staff are extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. They remember your name and always say hello when they see you. The rooms are a little small but they are very clean and comfortable. Water is hot with good pressure and the wifi is reliable. The breakfast has a nice variety of warm and cold foods, always very good fruit. The hotel is walking distance (or a $2 Uber) from multiple malls with nice grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops.

Breakfast had improved since the last time I stayed. Staff were really helpful and welcoming Front of house staff were brilliant - Elva and Raymond especially. Gentleman at the front door was particularly helpful in securing a taxi and making sure driver new instructions

Everything was fine - no complaints

The staff was extremely friendly, very helpful and professional. They smiled very genuinely, which made me feel very welcome. The room was very clean and Cozy. I also loved the food. I especially enjoyed my breakfast on the last day. It was quite a beautiful stay.

It would have been nice to have a digital television.

The breakfast was great. They had both intercontinental and local meals. The location is right in the middle of town. It was great for us as we could access most services without the need for transportation.

I would have preferred a mini bar in the room, so I could cool my drinks. Also there is only one ironing room on the second floor. The hotel could invest in portable irons and ironing board in each room. Alternatively, they could provide irons and boards to customers on request. This will be very helpful for business travellers.

What a pleasure to join the imperial. Friendly from the first second until the last. Well equipped hotel, great WiFi, AND hot shower!!! The breakfast was good, with real coffee. Whole wheat toast. And especially for me, they took care for my motorbike to park it inside the building. Payment done by credit card . Good location

I liked the security, the calmness environment inside the reception and more especially the courteous and responsiveness to our needs by the staff.

The rooms could have been a bit more cooler as the temperature outside was exceptionally warm. I spotted AC units in the room but for some reason the rooms were not cool enough. There was no iron box in the room.

Great location in the middle of town. Very good food- the dinner buffet and breakfast spread were both delicious and there was good variety. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Robinson at reception.

Could be loud at night, needs better sound proofing in the rooms.
