The location is wonderful, you do need a car. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful. Perfect Customer service, as I was unhappy with our original accommodation choice. This was my fault as I did not research it properly. Resolved very amiably. Our room was very comfortable and we were also made aware there was a cottage rental too. I would stay again without hesitation. We had a meal too, excellent choice and very good quality and value. Breakfast was spot on too.
We booked a pod as that was the only accommodation available. I was naĂŻve to not know what this accommodation would entail, with no toilet/washing facilities other than in in a separate kitchen and washing block, as the price was over ÂŁ100, I did not consider that would be the case. However, I accepted this was my fault but was disappointed. When asked what I thought of the pod, I was honest and showed my disappointment and was offered alternative accommodation with breakfast upgrade, for a small additional payment. This was appreciated, thank you.

Lovely stay here. The beds were lovely and comfortable. Breakfast lovely. Nice friendly staff. Rooms homely and comfortable. Lovely area to stay in. Plenty teas and coffees and complementary biscuits and wee soap shampoo body wash etc. Beautiful area for walks. Nice friendly bar with coal fire on and friendly locals with their dogs. Complimentary food in the bar. Yorky puds with black pudding pieces inside, spicy chips and chicken curry and rice around 4pm. Clean rooms. Plenty hot water and clothes hangers. No complaints. Well done Fox and Hounds.
I cannot think of anything.

Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast choice was very good. Evening meals also good. Cosy atmosphere in the bar area, with coal fire.
On the first night there was no heating in the rooms due to a fault with the central heating boiler. We were offerd an oil filled electric heater but declined as we were told the heating would be on by 6.30pm but it never came on. We asked for a heater later that evening but there was none availble (I imagine other guests had taken them when first offered). Central heating boiler was fixed the next day so rooms were then nice and warm.

Small portion (1 sausage, 1 rasher bacon, egg of choice and beans) plus toast. Friendly staff who were very accommodating. New block with shower facilities and kitchen was good. We used it lots! Shower good 👍
Food and drink was expensive! We also paid you prior to our departure but the Fiox and Hound had not received payment from you. Consequently, they took it again! We had to provide evidence we had paid you before they would issue a refund. We haven’t yet checked to see if this has been done. In future, please pay the accommodation prior to a customers arrival. This caused a little bit of distress. Thank goodness we were able to prove we’d paid! You literally get what you pay for, nothing more

The facilities were superb and couldn't fault the room. The food was good and portion sizes were large. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with a good choice. The staff were really friendly and attentive.
The only thing that we would fault were the sausages at breakfast. They were the bland mass produced variety and let down an otherwise good eating experience. There must be lots of great local butchers producing superb sausages!!

The accomodation was exceptionally clean and fresh. The staff were warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make my stay pleasurable the view from my room was fabulous. I didnt take a dog so I didnt notice if there was an outside tap and hose I would have needed one if I'd have taken my dog as she loves the mud.
The bed wasnt the most comfortable for me (princess and the pea sinario)nobody's fault, but I have a bad back so it's not unusual when I'm not in my usual bed. Reception for bbc 1 was poor I missed 2 episodes of eastenders and watched it on catch up when I got home. I'm a sad woman

Loved this pub for the friendly & helpful staff. The cosy lounge/diner. The food was excellant
Chilly bedroom. No heating on when we arrived at 4pm even though the time was booked. This was not expected. We asked for more heat, we were given an electric heater which was on a timer and rarely came on. The main radiator was only on in the morning for a short period after we had gone for breakfast. Not good for a very cold February 3 days .

On arrival the young girl at the bar (Did not see her name) was quick and efficient. She explained everything and showed us where to go. She then served us for dinner and is a great asset to your team and again nothing was too much trouble and even did an excellent job of upselling one of the specials as a starter. The food was delicious, great portions and quick. The inn is a gorgeous country pub but with some gorgeous touches that make it feel really comfy. Eg underfloor heating in bedrooms/bathrooms. Water in your rooms, super comfy large bed and huge bathroom. The open fire and relaxed, personal atmosphere was a charm. We would definitely come back again.
Nothing .... I would maybe say if the confirmation could say about the additional parking to right of the car park entry as we arrived after dark so did not see the sign.

We had a very enjoyable two night stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfasts. Didn't have evening meals so can't comment. No
Suggested that a coat rack is needed to hang up outdoor coats. The room we had didn't have anywhere to hang them other than inside the small wardrobe: not practical if it's been pouring down. Protruding springs in the mattress made the first night's sleep difficult for my other half. But when we flipped the mattress over everything was fine the next night.

The Fox and Hounds exceeded my expectations in every way. It is a very clean, comfortable, and well-run inn without being over-fussy or modern. The breakfast was excellent and the choice of food and wines for the evening meal very good. I found the staff kind, attentive and helpful. I consider that the Fox and Hounds to be one of the best places that I have stayed at and I hope that others will think so too. I hope to return.
