The property was perfect in its traditional and simple situation. It was no where near like a modern city hotel and it was not trying to be. It was perfectly clean, had all the facilities you would need for a relaxing break and was in the most tranquil setting I have ever been to for a very long time. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room comfortable. The food excellent. If I had the choice of a free night in the royal suite at the Savoy or a night at the White Horse Farm Inn, the White Horse Farm Inn would win every time.
Traditional, cosy with abundant charm. Just what you need after a busy week. Within easy reach of places to visit such as Whitby whilst feeling like it was a thousand miles from the nearest city.

The Hotel staff greeted us warmly on arrival, the room was clean and tidy, an Easter Egg was left for us too, such a lovely touch. Plenty of tea and coffee in our room. We took our dog, the hotel welcomed her too and did not charge us extra for taking our family member with us. The food was delicious in the restaurant, would advise you book a table as it was extremely busy. Hotel was quiet after 11pm, breakfast included was tasty. The Hotel was in an ideal place for where we were visiting for our Easter Break. Definitely would recommend, excellent value for money 😊

This old coaching house with views over Rosedale is a great place to stay. Friendly staff were welcoming, and very happy to help with local knowledge. Our room was recently redecorated; large, wood beamed, with comfortable bed and furnishings. The bathroom small but fully functional. Bar and restaurant oozed character. Real home made food, and Theakstons on tap. Excellent value, We loved it, and will definitely be returning. The views from the front of the hotel and the top of Rosedale Chimney are superb.
Nothing to not like per our experience. Bear in mind it's an old building with character, creeky wood floors and a history, and enjoy your stay.

The location of the property which is situated on its own is really stunning with awesome views out onto the Yorkshire moors. It has a large car park with an adjacent seated area. The room we stayed in was a superior double room which was really clean, comfortable and quite adequate for our needs and had all the required facilities for our stay. The staff were very welcoming, pleasant and friendly and there was a nice selection of draught beers in the bar which were reasonably priced. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a good choice of serials, yoghurt, fruit juice, coffees and tea and of course the traditional ‘full English’ all of which was self serve. There was a decent choice of evening meals on the menu and a specials board, which we consumed in the bar area as that was our personal preference but you could also eat in the restaurant if you preferred.
There was actually nothing that I didn’t like.

Stunning views, a real winter wonderland when I stayed. Perfect for dog owners too. Delicious cooked breakfast. Just be careful if you're here to enjoy the idyllic winter wonderland getaway...if it's snowy or icy, be very careful driving as it's in a very remote village, located on a steep road. I struggled to get my car out onto the road with the icy conditions, but thankfully the helpful manager was on hand to advise me to wait for it to thaw a bit, and he also kindly put some grit down to melt some of the icy patches. Thanks to him for also quickly solving the problem with the shower. Enjoyed a cosy pint in front of the roaring log fire in the evening, while the dog enjoyed being entertained by the friendly staff.

Location is a 10/10. We loved having a beer on an evening, on the benches outside, looking down into the valley. Myself and a friend stayed in the triple room, and we were very impressed. I would definitely rate it more than a 2* hotel. Bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. A bit of a weird compliment, but the water pressure in the shower was incredible! We were also pleasantly surprised with the drinks prices at the bar. I can't remember a pint costing more than £5. The staff were very friendly, and the manager was brilliant. I'd also recommend anyone visiting to have a walk to Lastingham, and eat at "The Blacksmiths Arms". The food is incredible, and fairly priced.
We had a family staying next to us on the second night, and the noise travelled easily through the walls. The wait time on foods was lengthy, but some issues were had in the kitchen. The manager went above and beyond though, and even gave us a couple free drinks during our wait.

The breakfast was lovely, a bit pricy but there was plenty of choice, help yourself and excellent produce .The hotel is a bit of a walk from the village. Excellent views and ideal for walkers. They accommodated my request for a shower instead of bath.
I didn't see disabled access and the front entrance steps were uneven and although there was a handrail I felt unsafe as my mobility is not great. It is an old and beautiful building no lift.

Stayed in a balcony room,it was tastefully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable, very relaxing short break. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food portions were good value and great quality.
It would be good to have an extra shelf next to the tea and coffee,as there wasn't a lot of room when making drinks. A small table on the balcony would be a nice addition, it's great area for evening drinks on a summer evening as it catches the sun .

Perfectly cooked eggs, bacon and sausages! So hospitable. Nothing was too much to ask. Good range of food on the menu. Homemade food, generous portions. Clean and efficient. Clean room, comfy bed and outdoor room on balcony. Lovely period furniture. The views were gorgeous.
The balcony could have been dog-proof at the bottom so we didn't have to worry about the dog escaping and having to keep her on the lead.
