On check in, the team were helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Tom, the night porter was superb and had wonderful stories to tell. The breakfast in the morning was generous and perfectly cooked, and the room was exactly what we needed for our stay. We booked a room with a 'Landmark View' and I still can't believe the view from our window - truly mind blowing! We loved all of it and have so far recommended the Hotel to everyone we know.
My only criticism was that the mattress and pillows were quite firm - though this is personal preference! Otherwise, a completely perfect stay.

An excellent hotel - exceeded expectations. Great location, peaceful, quiet, wonderful staff, fantastic breakfast and lovely to be able to stay in the cathedral grounds when the crowds had gone.

The Lodge is positioned in the grounds of the Cathedral, which is perfect for looking around the centre of Canterbury. Plus, you have free access to the Cathedral itself, Staff are welcoming and helpful and the rooms are excellent with a view of the Cathedral from your bedroom bay window. I would reccomend not missing out on the breakfast, which is cooked to order and the serving staff look after you very well. Overall, its a bit more pricey than the usual well known hotels, but, the overall experience is well worth the price.

Lodge is within the cathedral grounds meaning it occupies a wonderful and quiet location right in the heart of the city. Hotel was clean, modern and comfortable with great staff and wonderful food.
Only downside is the entrance to car park is not easy to find. We ended up parking away from the hotel, finding it on foot and retrieving the car later after obtaining detailed directions from the staff. Do not rely on sat-nav, it doesn’t work.

Fantastic location with great view of cathedral and free entry. Comfortable room - great breakfast.
Shower cubicle was a very small space. A larger person may have struggled.

We liked the selections at breakfast- the choices of continental and hot meal. The location was excellent. Staying on the historic grounds of the Christ Church Cathedral at Canterbury allowed opportunities to explore the buildings and gardens each day of our stay.

Incredible location and value. The inclusion of Cathedral entry fee at £18 each and a delicious, generous breakfast for two means this accommodation is hard to match.

This is a great place to stay what more could you want being in the grounds of the cathedral. The staff are exceptional and any information needed or places to eat or visit they can help. The breakfast is lovely. Presentation immaculate. We also went to the evening service on Sunday and that in itself was very moving listening to the clergy sing and it the service taken by the actual dean of Canterbury himself it was in celebration of volunteers. We always stay here and will keep staying when we visit Canterbury or when I go hospital as comfortable the night before.

The breakfast was included, and had a good choice, and was plated not help yourself. Which actually meant good portion sizes, less waste and no over indulging. Coffees were a little lacking in caffeine, would recommend the tea. Perfect location by the Cathedral and easy walking to the city with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The area is policed by Canterbury Cathedral Police, an actual Police body, reinstated in 2016. Rooms in the Hotel were very comfy, large double beds, wonderful hot, powerful shower and the rooms were tidied and replenished each day. The staff were professional and courteous at all times.
The confusion with parking. Ring up in plenty of time to reserve parking as otherwise parking very limited indeed. Very narrow roads and parking spaces so very large vehicles wouldn't be advised. The first night I was allocated a room in the building out the back in the Burgate Annexe. This wasn't what I had booked or wanted, and I complained to reception who said they could move us into the Hotel for the remaining three nights the next day. The Burgate room is dated, like a low budget Travelodge and noisy. There was no shower, just a shower head in the bath and due to sloping bathrrom roof, you had to sit in shower to wash hair. I had specifically wanted a shower, which this was not, and the bed would be classed as a single.
