This was our first visit to Kanazawa and we chose the Hotel Forza because of it’s location…an easy 8-min walk from the train station; centrally located with many eating and shopping establishments nearby; very close to the Omicho Morning Market and also on the local bus lines. It perfectly filled these requirements! In addition, the hotel was really wonderful and I’d give it a score of 11+ if I could! The staff were helpful and friendly; the room was a perfect size for two people and had a lovely window seat for reclining; the breakfast was an add’l charge but worth every penny and had SO much to choose from. We truly lived our 3-day stay in Kanazawa and much of this was due to the lovely accommodations we returned to each evening! If you’re unsure about where to stay, don’t hesitate to book here. You won’t be disappointed!

We loved everything!

Breakfast was tasty with adequate daily changes to the menu to provide some variety. The obasan managing the breakfast crowd was very polite and cheerful even when "tossing out" some guests who had tried to sneak into the breakfast area without tickets. The hotel was located right across from Omicho Market, and centrally located for walks to most of the main sights. Great for clocking those steps. Hotel staff helped us complete the luggage forwarding documents, and even took the extra effort to call up our next hotel to verify our booking. Appreciate having a coffee machine in the lobby to provide free caffeine fix any time of the day.

The room setup could do with more storage drawers for guests staying beyond 2 nights. The room also did not come with any luggage racks and we had to request for one at the reception, and only got one two days' later presumably after some guests checked out and freed up some racks.

Everything was fine - amenities, location, food services, laundry, service personnel. We would particularly emphasize the excellence of the concierge (‘Emi’) who went far beyond ‘knowledgeable’, ‘proficient’, and ‘considerate’ - things that would be expected of any concierge - to create for us an exceptional Kanazawa experience. She proposed walking itineraries to match our enthusiasm for history, culture, and natural beauty, she suggested authentic local eating spots that were local favourites as opposed to tourist attractions, and took on the making of reservations for us, given our non-existent Japanese language skills, complete with setting navigation directions into our smartphones and printing off hard copies with introductory notes for the restauranteurs. Emi deserves rave reviews (and a big raise!).

Everything was first rate; no complaints at all.

The hotel furnishings seemed pretty much new and it was very comfortable. The housekeeping was efficient and thorough. The bath and shower were excellent. Breakfast was varied and of great quality. The location, 10 minutes walking, from the train station, was ideal.

The self check in and check out service wasn’t really efficient as it required a member of staff to help each guest, as it wasn’t particularly intuitive. There were 4 washer/dryers for all guests, so the best time to do laundry was 6:30am before the day’s sightseeing. Any later and you are hanging around waiting for machines to finish or other guests to come and remove their smalls.

We have stayed at this hotel before. While it's a bit of a walk to the station (10 minutes with a wheelchair and a following wind) it's location is superior to being closer to the station. Room was adequately sized, breakfast selection excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, especially one of the breakfast room staff who recognised me from my last stay just over a year ago. The shower is a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering, once you have mastered it!

The only problem was an errant toilet light sensor which erratically turned the toilet light on and off in the middle of the night, a maintenance issue.

Location is super premium. Omicho Market is basically adjacent and Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-en, Higashi Chaya District are within comfortable walking distance. Kanazawa Station is also easy to reach. Nearby bus stops make it easy to get elsewhere in the city. My room was immaculate, spacious and quiet. The bed was large, comfortable with pillows to match. The decentralized bathroom (toilet, sink and bath/shower being in separate locations) was unusual but not a bad thing. There were complimentary water bottles in the room and a free vending machine drink that could be claimed at the front desk. Staff was friendly and helpful when I had issues. Breakfast buffet, though a bit more expensive, was worth it. Huge variety of options including Western, Japanese and more local offerings. Last but not least, it didn't break the bank to get all of this.

Woke up to a nosebleed and bloody pillow my first night as my room was super dry. To be clear, it had been super hot recently and the room does have a humidifier, so it was more my fault than the hotel's. Only actual issue was minor- room faced a parking garage, so I needed to keep the curtains down most of the time for sleep or privacy reasons.

A beautiful hotel with big rooms (we stayed in a twin room with sofa). The bathroom was awesome and the bathtub was big enough for two. Beds were comfortable and large, too. Lots of space for luggage etc. Friendly staff. Easy to find and walking distance to most places of interest in Kanazawa and also the station (12ish mins, more when you have luggage).

A big issue for me is the lack of fresh air - the room has beautiful big windows but they can't be opened at all (for security reasons). It would be great if the hotel installed security windows that can be opened up to 5cm or so. I've seen them in plenty of other hotels with rooms on high floors. We used the air con for airflow but it's just not the same. We also usually open windows in the morning and at night. It makes a big difference. Apart from that everything was great though!

Staff were exceptionally mannered with excellent language skills in every language we heard. Lobby was lovely - we often worked and studied on the ground floor during the evening to late night. Cleaning request system was refreshing, being able to choose how much our room was cleaned each day and cleaning staff worked carefully which we appreciated. Location was within walking distance of department store, omicho market, train station, kanazawa palace, geisha districts, samurai districts and temples. Water pressure in shower and bath were pleasant, along with the pyjamas.

Bidet not very strong. Could hear use of fire escape frequently in morning.

This was really a nice hotel. Our room was very big and the bathroom was awesome. The beds were comfortable and we were able to wash our clothes, which was very convenient. The accommodation was very well located and we could easily walk from the train station and to the city centre.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to open the window. We had to use the air con to keep the temperature in check, and the ventilation system was quite loud. I was sick during my stay, and I had a light fever, so the humidity within the room was a bit uncomfortable, and just opening the window wasn't an option. But having the air-conditioning on while sweating isn't all that healthy. Having both possibilities would have been nice.

Very lovely and helpful staff, location great (walking distance to Kanazawa station, and most attractions. Omicho market, convenience stores, great coffee spots and shopping mall with supermarket and food court) just meters away. Room was a normal size for Japanese standards, very clean and bed comfortable. Plus from me for separate toilet and bathroom. I didn't mind the sink in the room much but would appreciate better (or adjustable) lighting above it and the mirror as it's not suitable for makeup application. All important amenities were in the room and iron with ironing board can be borrowed from the reception. Extra points for the foot massage thingy and shoe drier (had no idea there was such a thing). Coin washer/dryers, vending machines and microwave on level too. Overall we had very good 4 nights in this hotel.

The tiny seat next to the bed is a bit awkward but at least there is something to sit on. Lighting above the sink in the room.
