Single rooms are often sqeezy corners in an hotel. At Ancora, I got a modern, stylishly decorated place, with a large, beautiful bathroom, and balcony. All details are taken care off. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is refined and classy... and this in front of the navigazione, with best trattorias in 2 min walk...

Well, it's more an Italy and verbania problem: I found a car charging spot in front of the carabinieri (safe;-)!!) But the heart of Verbania is a blind spot for E cars. No chargers. Come on Italy, get to terms , the navigazione can easily harbour a handful of spots what are you waiting for?

This hotel is a little gem. Great location, restaurants, places to visit, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, lovely balcony and lots of little "extra" touches like free bottled water and snacks in the room, welcome drink/snacks etc. Whole area super quiet when we went (no queues etc) although see note about off-season!

We went for a lake view room with balcony. Perfect however, the hotel sits between 4 lanes of busy traffic and the lake. Not much the hotel can do about this (there is double glazing) but if road noise till late/and early morning isnt your thing, best to avoid lake view / facing rooms as it will spoil what will otherwise be a perfect and amazing stay in a great hotel. We weren't aware but the Area goes into partial (off-season) shutdown after 5th Oct, which reduces ferry transport & trip options from Intra if no car

It was a beautiful hotel, located right at the lake. The rooms were very clean, spacious and had all amenities we needed. We also booked a lake view hotel, which we highly recommend. The view was breathtaking. The breakfast was tasty, there was a variety of foods to choose from, from baked goods to fresh fruit and vegetables, from sweet to savory. The room service was exceptional, the staff friendly and professional and the hotel felt safe and welcoming. It was rainy during our stay, so we spent more time in the hotel than planned, and were happy to have been in the Hotel Ancora, as it made those rainy days extra cozy and comfortable.

Everything. Great location, just across the street was the ferry terminal going to all the towns and islands on the lake. Bus stops outside the hotel. Lots of shops, restaurants and cafes all with a short walk. The reception area has a welcome drink, with wine, juices, water, and coffee with lots of delicious cookies and snacks, which was very welcome after a long drive. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and modern with everything you need, including a kettle with tea/coffee and water and snacks free of charge. A safe and mini fridge was also in the room. The shower in the bathroom was fabulous. Plenty of nice toiletries. Last but by no means least, the staff were fantastic. They were so helpful and friendly.

I cannot think of anything negative to say about the hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ancora. The location is excellent, close to everything we needed. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. What truly stood out was the exceptional service — the staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Special thanks to Helena at the reception, who went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Her warm attitude and attention to detail were truly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel!

Our stay was superb! But there were noises that we could hear late at night and in the morning. Like steps, banging, moving furniture and slamming doors. Noises were from above us. It was just weird that we hear it regularly. It disturbed us most of the time especially in the morning when we want to sleep in. It was not just 10 minutes but it was for hours.

Wow! What a hotel. Everything was perfect. Spacious, comfortable and really nicely designed room. Great bathroom. A/C worked super well and very silently (I don’t take this for granted, even in 4* hotels). The breakfast was absolutely wonderful too. Staff was super friendly. Right next to the shore & Promenade, ferry terminal and city center.

Absolutely no complaints

Perfect location with lovely views of the lake, easy walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. Room was small but nice,with comfortable bed. Good breakfast served. The windows are well sealed to shut out noise of traffic on cobblestones.

The bathroom was a little tired and poorly designed. Maybe a bigger selection of breakfast pastries?

Garage closed box available with extra fee making sure our car was very safe In the center of the town so very easy to have restaurant and activities nearby Dogs allowed with a fee and dog friendly staff Nice view on balcony on the lake Very friendly staff helpful and kind Small fridge in the room Good Airco

Bathroom a little outdated Shower water didn’t flow too well meaning the shower easily overflows

All staff were incredibly service-minded and helped us with everything from changing rooms to vegan breakfast options and the housekeepers had great attention to detail. The table of snacks in the lobby and the free coffee in the room was much appreciated throughout our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the balconies was amazing. The rooms were sound proofed so we did not notice the noise from the street or other guests.
