The breakfast spread was exceptional. Worth it. It is a short walk to Shek Mun mtr station and city one mtr station, with Shek Mun being more preferable to us. Amenities were good. There’s a self-service laundry at level 3 which was extremely useful albeit a little pricey. There are bikes available for us to use as well but we didn’t manage to use that facility. There is a 7eleven convenience store at the ground floor to grab whatever you need.

Breakfast could start a wee bit earlier but that was doable for us. There was a little hiccup on day one where there was some buzzing noise coming from the walls within the room. The staff promptly tried to managed it and switched our rooms as soon as they could. A minor inconvenience but all’s good. City one station is nearby a bus depot so walking around that area might be a little tricky that’s why we prefer Shek Mun station. The view of one side is the river view which is a little more scenic. The other side is the bus depot view. It isn’t bad but it’s different.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, lovely linen, and the room cleaned every day. Bed changed every 3 days. The room itself was a decent size. Lovely views. I have coeliac disease and, although I provided my own bread, with toaster bags, and crackers, there were eggs, ham, salad and melon etc which I felt safe to eat. I had no repercussions.

That there was nothing to put on door to say when it was convenient for housekeeping to enter room. A couple of awkward moments 😬 as I'm a little deaf and the bell was not very loud..........

The location is convenient: a few mins walk to Shek Mun or City One train station and A41 bus to and from the airport. The hotel even offers shuttle bus services to Shek Mun Train station, Sha Tin New Town Plaza and back. The top floor swimming pool is not busy and the view is good. Gym facilities are clean and well maintained. The room is cosy, clean and of good size. There's a convenient store downstairs open until 11 pm, not 24 hours but it's good enough. We made use of the bicycle borrowing service and went cycling on the excellent cycling track network in Sha Tin, Ma On Shan, Science Park. There's self service laundry service at the hotel, HKD40 for washing HKD40 for tumble drying, which is comparable to stores outside. I used it twice and both times I didn't have to wait. There's a bottle filling machine on each floor which is handy as I didn't have to boil water for drinking.

When I was first in the queue waiting for my turn at the reception, 2 guests (they travelled together) walked from behind, jumped the queue, walked straight to the reception. I reminded them I was waiting, they ignored me and the hotel staff member did continue to serve them before me as if she's afraid of offending them but thought offending me was okay. It's not what I expect from a well-managed hotel. The opaque glass used as partition wall for the toilet isn't opaque enough. One could still see quite clearly what's going on inside.

We got greeted very nicely as soon as we got off the taxi. Leading to a big spacious lobby with high ceiling. Beautiful and clean hotel. The staff was really nice and everything went very smooth without much trouble. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice aswell. The bar upstair had some interesting drinks aswell. Its pretty easy to take a bus to town or walk 15 min to a train station. There is also a 7 eleven in the building, making is very easy to buy drinks and snacks.

I miss more variantions in restaurants. They had some fancy restaurant options, but some mid and lower options would be nice. The pool was very nice aswell but sadly we weren't allowed to bring a drink to the pool, even though they had lounge chairs and table for it. Also miss a better bar. The downstair bar wasnt very cozy to to sit by and the upstair bar was very quiet. It felt more like a tiny corner of the restaurant than a bar we would wanna spend time at. :)

I chose this hotel as it’s closer to my relatives in the new territories and it is a relatively newer hotel. The rooms are spacious compared to many other hotels I stayed in HK, I especially like the chair and footstool and very comfortable which is not available the other hotels I’ve stayed. They were able to accommodated in the top floor as requested, the room was clean and the view was great. There were free shuttles from the hotel to the shatin plaza, nearest mtr and to West Kowloon to change to mtr for the airport and the walk to the nearest mtr stations were not too bad if it doesn’t downpour with rain. 7/11 just downstairs which is added convenience.

There is a very noticeable damp smell as soon as you step out of the lift on the 3rd floor where the laundry room is located. Even though there’s a self service laundry room there wasn’t a serviced laundry available which would benefit as I don’t have to stay up late to do the laundry and the cost I paid for the self service is similar to what I would have paid for a serviced one in another hotel I’ve stayed in. The dryer does not work in the apartment that my mum and sister shared, still had to pay for the room upgrade on the first night despite this. Realised there was a better deal for this hotel on another website.

We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights...Awesome staffs specially the guy with glasses in Concierge, he's so approachable and helpfull... Easy check in and check out.. Free shuttle service to City One Station makes our transpo. comfortable... Love the breakfast... Spacious room makes us feel at home... Everyday they clean our room and refill the supplies... Definitely I'll stay again with Alva Hotel the next time...

A bit far from Mongkok Area but we managed since there's a free shuttle going to MTR Station and its fine with us since we can also explore places outside Mongkok Area...

The only thing that made it very awkward and unprofessional was the check in counter lady. I tried to check in with my Macau ID and she refused and said this is Hong Kong. All this years every hotel ive always checked in with my Macau ID. She straight up did not care to check or care I tried explaining and she just replied well this is Hong Kong… Maybe its a new system im not aware of or the hotel policy but she did not explain anything else. Luckyly I had my passport

1. The location: Very convinient to all types of public transport. MTR, airport bus are within short walking distance. 2. The staff were courteous and helpful. 3. View from the room: my room was on 25th floor, overlooking the river and far from surrounding buildings, really enjoyed the privatcy and nice view. 4. Clean room: the room was very clean and new, spacious and bright.

The only thing that I think could improve hygiene was to replace the thick carpet from the walkway. It feels like the thick carpet is a perfect place for trapping moist, dirt and bacteria over time.

We asked for a room on a higher floor with the view on the river and the receptionist arranged it without a question, as well as putting all our friends at the same floor. :) Although the location is far from the centre, they provide a free shuttle bus to take you to the metro station and close to center. We had to leave the room at 11, but our transport to the airport wasn't until 8pm, so we left our luggage in the premises and went to explore the city. Upon our arrival we were completely exhausted and sweaty because of high humid and temperature and wanted to refresh ourselves before the next 25+h of journey to Europe. The receptionist gladly assisted us, letting us take a shower in the gym. This "detail" meant a huge difference for the whole journey ahead and we are really grateful for that.

Breakfast was in my opinion pretty poor in cereals, fruits and pastry. It is more focused on asian food (which is probably understandable).

Airport bus A41 direct from HK airport to the hotel. The hotel is very clean, good size room and also walking distance to MTR or buses to anywhere. The breakfasts has different selections to choose from.

The staff at the reception provided ok service, not specifically friendly or rude however the staff at the restaurant are excellent, they all smile to all guests all the time, they clean up the dirty dishes very efficient. 2 thumbs up to them.
