Border Gateway Wodonga is a perfect place to stay, especially if you're travelling with a pet! Very friendly staff welcomed us, with the offer of milk and extra room keys. This establishment has a well kept grassed area for pets to stretch their legs. Ample WIDE parking for each room that has enough space potential to allow a Dodge Ram to have all 4 doors open when unloading pets and luggage, without encroaching on the next car space! The rooms were clean. The reverse cycle air conditioning kept us cosy at night in beds that were very comfortable - we all got a great night sleep! Large TV with plenty of content to choose from. The clean, modern-look shower and toilet facilities were a huge selling point for me when searching for accommodation; we were very happy with the function and cleanliness. In close proximity to dining establishments, refuelling and coffee. Conveniently just off the main road, but the road noise is not heard!

The room was spacious, the shower was massive, and the location was perfect—right near the shops but still super quiet. The bed was comfy, and the staff were incredibly friendly, which made the stay even better. We started our day with breakfast at Henri’s Wodonga Bakery—absolutely loved their pastries! Then we wandered through the local shops. Cash Converters had some unexpected treasures like rare coins and retro game consoles, which was a fun surprise. We also enjoyed browsing through Wodonga Plaza. Such a relaxing, welcoming place—we’ll definitely be back!

Staff were friendly upon arrival. Nice spacious room. Convenient grass area outside for animals so we didn’t have to walk far. Convenient Tavern located across the road with yummy food. Quiet area and easy to get to.

Room wasn’t spotless clean, just surface level clean. Asked for a room with a sofa bed/fold out couch which we got but no extra bedding supplied for it so didn’t use. Light and fan in bathroom stopped working mid stay. Did seem a little over priced for what you got compared to others, don’t think the extra $30 per pet per night is necessary considering the price already. But overall was a lovely stay and would stay again!

Great place to stay with your pets — one of the best pet-friendly finds. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and cozy. Recently renovated and looked exactly like the photos in the advertisement.

There was a pet fee charged per animal, which I found a bit unusual. I understand that an additional cleaning fee may be necessary when staying with pets, but it seems unreasonable for the fee to double simply because you have two dogs instead of one.

EVERYTHING! the host Duncan is a true professional with obvious deep Motel pedigree. The room was immaculate and recently renovated and styled to world class level The Bed OMG the bed... my wife and i will be purchasing this bed through the referred site by Duncan it was the best we have ever slept on - I have recommended this Motel to my customers in Wodonga as well. Cant rate it higher

As it was for my brother's funeral, the location was right next door to the funeral home. It was also conveniently located across the road from Edwards Tavern which has amazing food. Only a short drive to Wodonga CBD and APCO is just down the road.

The only issue I could see was that if you had mobility problems, it would be hard to step up into the shower. Other than that, it was wonderful.

Lacking in easy kitchen and food preparation beyond cuppa tea or coffee for a group of 4 people. $30 for a small dog is too expensive, although it does mention it charges extra, somewhere in the advertising.

We’ve stayed before but was a few years ago. They allow you to bring your pets, which is great, with a grass area opposite rooms for them to run and play. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast provisions were also great. They are opposite a tavern for evening meals (but it closes early so don’t hope for a late dinner). Rooms look like they’ve been recently renovated too, which was a nice surprise.

A little bit out of town but for an overnight stay it suited us perfectly.

We overnighted here and did not use any facilities other than the room to sleep For this it was perfect Breakfast was conveniently packed in packs and located in reception on check in with a few different options Was perfect for the quick up and go we had in the morning and for breakfast on the drive

We just needed a place to stop over enroute back to Melbourne from Canberra. We stayed in the centre of Albury on the way up but it was an older motel and was very noisy. We selected Econo Lodge Border Gateway Wodonga because it was away from any traffic noise. We loved this location because of the peace and quiet, a great bed in a spacious room. We arrived around dinner time and spoke to Duncan about somewhere to eat and he suggested the Edwards Tavern Hotel across the street. Duncan's suggestion was 'Gold', we had the best steaks, a few drinks and walked home very satisfied. Loved the accommodation, the location (quiet) and the great nights sleep.

The only minor issue was the shower. The normal overhead part of the shower was fantastic but the bracket holding the hand held shower head was faulty and could not hold the shower head in a desired position. We spoke to the motel about it and they knew of the issue and were in the process of replacing and updating.
