Staying in such a historical building in an historical town was a great experience. The cottages date back to the 1850's so one has to make allowances for how they have been fitted out to meet heritage requirements. That said, all modern conveniences were available and our stay was very comfortable. Visitors need to get the Burra Passport so they can access the cottage that has been set-up as they were in the 1800's. It's a short walk across to the Burra Hotel - good pub food.
Some have commented about having to pick-up keys from the caravan park office. It was/is really not a drama. We did have an issue with wifi connecting to multiple devices but this was sorted out quickly and 'the problem' disappeared.

It was great to stay in a tastefully renovated historic row house & get a glimpse of what it was like for the early inhabitants of Burra. Paxton Square is a short walk to a lot that Burra has to offer & a short drive to the rest. The unit was well set up with everything we needed & a very comfortable bed.
In winter, the unit was very cold. The reverse cycle AC could not provide enough heat to overcome the cold coming from the solid stone walls & floor. We huddled under the provided throw blanket & were just warm enough to enjoy the TV.

A lovely way to experience a Cornish miner's cottage in a great location to central Burra. Comfortable, clean, dog friendly accommodation with a short walk to the bakery, hotels, cafes and some historical sites. The historical pass to visit multiple sites was well worth the money and also dig friendly, which was fantastic. The people of Burra were so friendly and welcoming for humans and adults. Well worth the stay for a few days!
Perhaps a rattan mat for the slate floor in the kitchen for the feet in winter?

Very interesting location in original 19 century miners houses. Perfect for realizing how it would have been living there back then. One apartment is left original and can be visited as part of a historical heritage trail in Burra. By adding modern comfort is staying a blessing. No sounds at night, pitch dark. Birds in the morning. And village center less than five minutes away. All together: A very pleasant surprise!
The reception desk was hundred meters further away from the location, I should have checked it better. But it was not a problem in the end.......

The cottage decor was modern and efficient. Shower was fantastic! Everything was in the right spot. Loved walking out into the square and watching people enjoying the green. Laundry was handy and washing dried in the sun quickly. Walking distance to main street/hotel via a lovely reserve with small lake and running water.
Honestly, the only comment that I can think of would be that the bathroom was a little chilly in May, a heater would have been nice. However, this would not stop me from staying again.

The cottages were authentic and well presented with sufficient facilities for our stay. There was everything we needed for our stay and availability to prepare meals in cottage. The bedding was clean and warm enough.
There were a couple of little things that could have been improved but only minor, for example there is no soap holder for the shower cubicle. Toilet paper kept falling off the holder. I slept on the single bed as it was softer than the queen but my partner found the queen comfortable enough. There is so much potential for this property, the cottages are in a large square with an extraordinary amount of wasted space in the middle of the facility and so much potential.

Everything - the cottage was a wonderful blend of an authentic, stone-walled, slate-floored, two-room miner’s cottage with a skillion addition of a delightful bathroom and toilet. It would have been so easy to get it wrong but it was a delight - white, black and charcoal no unnecessary cutesie pie touches. Good hot shower, a generous well-equipped kitchen and wonderfully warm bed - heaven!
Nothing.

Unless you're looking for a golden toilet seat, you can't fault this place. Spacious, rustic, fully equipped, updated shower, outside seating at rear, quiet (ok, some early morning trucks went past). Eateries within 5mins walk.
Nothing. (well, the reverse cycle aircon heater was probably too high up in this high-ceiling cottage to be fully effective on the cold night I stayed there - after all, heat rises, so there wasn't as much down at ground level as one might have hoped, but not a huge problem).

Easy walking into the main street of Burra. A very comfortable bed and excellent pillows. Lovely hot shower. Lounge chairs were comfortable as most places are soft seating. Great to see the accommodation has been updated since I stayed there last.
The air-conditioning we found not to be working as good as it should of been. Maybe it needs the filters cleaned out. Also I did notice that the air-conditioner motor outside needs to be cleared from leaves and dirt.

These cottages are excellent. Older property tastefully renovated. Until now, I had no idea they were in Burra as they are not on the main street we have driven down multiple times in 12 years travelling between Broken Hill and Adelaide. This is a far superior offering that the Motor Inn! We had heaps of space with two decent sized double beds, living room and kitchen diner for less than $200.
Second bedroom didn't have AC and was reliant on cool air flowing from living area. However this was a great find and we will return.
