The grounds and location of Island City House could not be better! It's close enough to everything you want to see in Key West, but far enough away that you actually feel like you are in a quieter part of town, and more secluded. If you want to be in the middle of the action, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want to easily go experience the action and then come home to a beautiful, peaceful, tropical oasis, we highly recommend Island City House!

The internet was sometimes a little spotty while we were there, but honestly, it forced us to slow down a bit so it wasn't that much of a negative. If you're counting on being able to do work while you're here, though, you may want to confirm the strength of the internet.

Unfortunately, the room we stayed in the bed was very uncomfortable and the window unit AC didn’t cool down the bedroom area and there’s no fan and it was warm

The property was cute and was in an absolute perfect location. It was close to everything including downtown, marina, square, and the beach. The property even has bike rental on site which was an added bonus for our trip. The neighborhood was quiet and the rooms had the old school Key West vibe to them.

Parking was difficult but that is usually for Key West. The house keeping came at 9am and would knock on your door. So if you want to sleep in make sure to put the do not disturb sign! We were on the 3rd floor which is difficult with luggage because there are no elevators.

I liked everything about the place. It's located very close to the center of the town, only about 6 mins walk to Duval Street and everything else; 4 minutes walk to the parking lot ( "Key West Parking Lot" 15/day, recommended!). The room was not too big, but just right to accommodate two people. It has stoves, a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee machine. Just perfect. They also have a resident cat, who is a cute pie, polite, and very curious. He always waited in front of the room, looking inside, and refused to come in when invited.

Nothing, everthing was good

My wife and I have been visitors to Key West over the last 30 years and have stayed in many places. Island City House ranks at the top of our list. Located in a quiet neighborhood, Island City is close to Duval Street, the Wharf, and Fausto's, the local grocery shop. Bookstores, restaurants, clothing stores, and art galleries abound; you are literally within a stone's throw of whatever interests you. Island City's grounds are impeccably maintained. We went at the beginning of December and the grounds were fully decorated for Christmas. Because of medical necessity, I require a kitchen, and Island City did not disappoint. Our room was clean with a balcony overlooking the pool and surrounding neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were asked numerous times if there was anything we needed, which we appreciated.

I honestly can't think of anything I didn't like, nor do I have any suggestions for Island City to improve their rooms and services.

This was our first trip to Key West... and it didn't disappoint!! And that's mostly because we had a great start at the Island City House Hotel!! The buildings are gorgeous architecture. They've really tried to preserve the old world charm while updating for modern tastes. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with my sister and her new husband. The living/dining room was plenty large for us to sit and hang... and we didn't need it, but the couch was a pull out to accommodate 2 more people. The kitchen was fully stocked and usable with a microwave, stove, refrigerator, sink. They offer complimentary coffee, water, snacks, and stock daily. The bathroom was so cute and well decorated. The water pressure was quite good!! I'm not used to that on an island. The bedrooms were nice. A bit smaller but we don't need a lot of room. There are tvs in both bedrooms. THE BEST PART.... is the bicycle rentals... these bikes... saved our world lol. They are $15/day. By far the best money we spent down there!! Cars are basically unusable... bikes are a must on the island!! The grounds and gardens... are spectacular. Absolutely amazing. It's so calming to sit in the sitting areas and just hear the water, birds, wind.... love it. The pool was nice, private, great furniture. We also received a $5/day coupon the the nearby bakery (3min walk)... which had the BEST croissants I've ever had... We will definitely be return customers. Thank you so much.

I can't think of anything I'd change.

It was a wonderful little getaway, with beautifully keep grounds and heated pool. Our 2 bedroom suite with living room, full kitchen and amazing HUGE private porch was perfect. We also had the added BONUS of the resident cat Bert stay on our porch every night and visited us inside too....we are huge animal lovers and we're missing our beloved pets at home so this was a lovely extra.

Master suite was beautiful with lots of storage space and king size bed...unfortunately the bed was like a brick! Sleep was hard to come by. A matress topper would solve this easily.

Island City House has become our favorite place to stay in Key West! The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and well-stocked and the grounds are quiet and beautiful.

There is a lack of parking. There’s one parking spot in front which is supposed to be used for loading/unloading but last time we were there, a pest control company took up the space for over an hour; meanwhile, we parked several blocks away and had to lug our bags and a cooler in the heat. There needs to be separate parking designated for vendors to avoid this inconvenience.

Staff were helpful and pleasant, location was amazing and the facilities were clean and well maintained. We hope to return to this location again in the future when visiting KW. Thank you!

The sofa bed was comfortable in our unit, but an actual bed would be better for the second traveler -- but we understand the space constraints and will try to book a room that better suits us next time. No other improvements recommended. Loved it here.

It's a beautiful colonial house Key West style with a great lush garden, a koi pond and a big wrap around veranda. The room was like a small apartment with kitchen, fridge, living room, sofa. The bed was very comfortable and the AC was on point. Location was great, we walked everywhere. You feel like you are in Key West.
