We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn San Diego/Del Mar, and it was truly one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome — not just us, but our dog too! It’s rare to find a hotel that treats pets as true guests, but this one exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully arranged to accommodate our whole family comfortably. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a great variety to suit everyone’s taste. One of the highlights for us was the pet-friendly touches — we were pleasantly surprised to find bowls and even a welcome treat waiting for our pup in the room. The hotel grounds were also well-prepared for four-legged travelers, with designated walking areas and waste stations conveniently located. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and accommodating stay. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend the Hampton Inn San Diego/Del Mar to anyone traveling with family — including furry members!

The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were not high - I always struggle with hotel's big and high pillows. Included breakfast was great: fruits, yogurt, wafflles, pastries, eggs, sausage, oat meal, cereal etc.

Nothing really - parking is not expensive, $12, but it would be nice if it were free.

The location was perfect for our trip to San Diego. This was the first time we were able to enjoy the breakfast and it was really good.

I didn't like having to pay the extra $15 for parking. The parking lot and garage is already built and with the cost of the rooms going up over 75% it makes it a little harder to decide whether or not to stay overnight. In the past we have usually always stayed overnight after our appointments to enjoy the San Diego weather and attractions, however with the rising cost, plus the extra charge for parking, we now have to determine if it's worthwhile to spend the $200 plus.

The property is well kept. But the employees at this location is what makes it exceptional. All the employees were very helpful and kind but I must say that Raul at the front desk truly goes above and beyond. This man should be given a promotion for his work ethic and attitude alone. We have traveled a lot and have NEVER come across a more helpful and kind employee. He truly made this stay special. Thank you Raul. You did not go unnoticed

Truly nothing

Liked the items in the bathroom (lotions, soaps, etc). Shower was nice. Fan wasn't noisy like many bathroom fans, and it worked well. The A/C worked really well and wasn't that noisy. They got me pillows without feathers, as I'm allergic. That was nice. The people were really friendly.

Construction, but that is temporary. The fridge in my room had an electronic whine and it was replaced, but the new one did the same when the thermostat was turned to the "cold" end, so we left it in the middle. Breakfast was ok, need more low sugar options. There were sausages one more than were so sweet I couldn't eat them. Perhaps add some plain yogurt without sugar? I gave it 9/10 because of the price.

Very nice breakfast with a variety of options (oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, sausage, yogurt, fruit, waffles, & different breads). It was nice to see the type of potatoes, eggs, & sausage changed daily. Room was very comfortable and I liked that we had a walk-in shower rather than a shower in a tub. Location was also very nice in that it was right near the freeway, which made getting places really easy. The staff were in general very nice and tried to help where they could.

As others have noted, it is disappointing to have to pay separately for parking. I could care less if the room price were bumped up by $12/night but it bothers me to see it separate on the bill. Though they are in the middle of a remodel, that wasn't much of an issue, though it may have contributed to the uncomfortably warm room temp in the breakfast area. The separate charge for parking, remodel, & warm breakfast room are the reason for the 8 vs 10 on my rating.

Very clean, comfortable beds, great location.

I enjoyed sitting in the lobby each morning to read while the family slept in, but I found the constant "dance" music annoying. Something a little more mellow like "coffeehouse, light rock or light pop" music would be more appropriate for mornings especially since the majority of guests were older not 20-somethings.

The shower in our room was faulty and we were upgraded to a newly remodeled room. That was an amazing move from the staff. The gentleman eningeer who came to look at the shower was wonderful as well. LIZ was so kind and helpful she made our stay at the hotel feel so warm. She's amazing and needs to be promoted!! I would definitely come back because she made our stay worth it.

I didn't like that the hotel charges daily parking fees I that was pretty dumb considering I've never been to any hotels that do that. Also the room we stayed in the first time before being upgraded had a lot of hair and dust they probably didn't clean well. The breakfast lounge wasn't big enough and had people standing looking for seats for too long.

Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Enjoyed breakfast every day. Visiting family that live near the hotel, so was very convenient for me to stay there. I have no complaints about my stay at the Hampton.

Nothing I didn't like, but the too high taxes in California. I'm from Michigan and an not used to the higher prices.
