The staff at the The Fox were delightful, friendly and ready to go that extra mile, from the welcome on arrival to leaving. My room was spacious, warm and welcoming, the bathroom was great. Huge room, huge bath and a rainfall shower over the bath. Hot water was plentiful. The bar was warm and friendly. Breakfast was very good, cooked to order and delicious. I also had lunch there on Sunday with my family, the food was good and the chef very accommodating, adapting a couple of things for my son who is dairy and soya intolerant. There is easy access to Burford and Bourton on the Water and fabulous countryside walks direct from the property.

I found the bed very uncomfortable, the mattress was very soft and felt lumpy in places. Dare I suggest a good mattress topper would go a long way!

The setting, the cosy pub atmosphere with real fires, and tasteful rooms made for a lovely stay. The food was really good and the staff were lovely.

Booked a number of rooms for a family gathering, many months before. At breakfast, the delivery of sausage and bacon hadn't arrived when we were ready to eat, so breakfast was delayed by about an hour. It's not a great issue, but as our day was time limited, it impacted on that. In our room, the bath with shower was on a plinth, so extremely difficult to get in and out of, though we obviously found a way!

The breakfast on offer is brilliant. I cheekily had the full English 2 days in a row and it was delicious. Being an old building, it isn't sound-proofed so for a light sleeper the people upstairs or nearby can be heard moving around which isn't ideal. The room was comfortable with nice tea and biscuits. The surroundings are beautiful - lovely on a crisp Autumn morning. The staff were lovely and definitely make you feel welcome. I would recommend but you definitely need a car or phone number of a few local taxi services.

Beds weren't hugely comfortable but I like a really firm mattress.

Beautiful location and property. Room was cute, clean and bath was a great feature. Staff very friendly and lovely breakfast.

Unfortunately the bed was a metal frame that was obviously a bit loose. Anytime either of us moved a fraction it squeaked which lead to a pretty disturbed night. Also the waste pipe for another room ran close to the head of the bed and they like to shower late at night and early in the morning. I know that can’t really be helped. It’s such a shame as room was peaceful, lovely and dark and the bed was quite comfy. Just let down by the squeakingand

As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by the man behind the bar. He was very friendly and helpful. we had a drink then we were shown to our room. We stayed in Windrush which was a beautiful room looking over the river and garden. We booked for dinner that evening where the food was really good and the service was friendly, relaxed and very efficient. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot dishes as well as helping yourself to fruit, yoghurt, cereals, muesli and fruit juices. Again the service was good. All in all a lovely place to stay and we would recommend it.

There wasn't anything of any consequence not to like.

We were unable to stay at the Fox Inn due to an issue caused by heavy rain, however, Allen of the the Fox team rebooked us elsewhere to take the stress away and still allowed us to come to the Fox for breakfast as we had other members of family staying there instead. As we arrived, the staff were well informed of the situation and made us all feel welcomed and the food was delicious. We were very grateful to enjoy their hospitality. Based on the friendliness of the staff, the communal areas and family comments about the rooms, I would happily return to try and take advantage and stay at the Fox.

Only thing that was not to my liking was not getting to stay there, but that was completely understandable in the circumstances.

-Clean bedroom & bathroom. Nicely refurbished- love the tiles. -Good food especially breakfast -Very pretty place by the river

-Bed was far too soft for our liking but all a matter of preference -Food portions are quite small . The hake looked like a child’s portion but it was delicious. Husband gasped when he saw the size of his desert but when he pointed it out ,this was handled professionally and an extra piece provided. -unfortunately there’s a very bad aroma from the river in the car park Certainly not the Fox’s fault but not a great welcome. Luckily it doesn’t permeate the hotel

We Booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding close by. Hotel, staff and food were excellent.

I could have done with better lighting in the room especially by the dressing table, it was too dark to apply make up and had to wait until steam had gone from the bathroom in order to use the better mirror and lighting in there. Also we had our personal number plates taken from the front and back of the car. There was no CCTV in the car park area so perhaps they should think about installing some. The theft would have been in broad daylight.

A typical Cotswold stone country Inn in a lovely location with great staff and good food. The room and bathroom were very spacious with tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water and biscuits. A quiet location in between the villages of Great and Little Barrington on the river Windrush.

Parking was a little hard when we arrived owing to Euro football final,we had a Mini so managed to squeeze into a small space, the car park was empty in the morning, also quite a lot of chat just outside our bedroom window which faced the road and pub entrance. That had to be expected though so no complaints.

I had arranged a get together of old University friends - chose Burford based on being equidistant from Somerset, Surrey and Worcestershire where we live, and it was the first time for 15 years that we had all been together. We did talk a lot, and were still talking when you closed the bar and finished breakfast. All the staff were brilliant and my friends all congratulated me on the choice of venue! We have decided not to leave it another 50 years before repeating! Thank you Allen, and all the team.

Can't think of anything, apart from the wine bill, but we can't blame you for that!
