Second time I have stayed here and a pleasure to return. Staff were polite and helpful though a little inclined to use the royal "we"! It was certainly worth paying a bit more for something a bit better than a Prem. Evening meal was vey good, breakfast tasty
I always find it difficult to decide on my breakfast choice the night before, Seemed on day one to lack any sugar at breakfast ,staff were busy and I had finished my weetabix before I saw anyone. Coffee was okay but it would have been nice to have fresh coffee out of a cafetiere that I could easily top up; either that or provide bigger mugs rather than smallish cups.

breakfast was good, though you have to decie what you want the day before. room was adequate though stuffy even with windows open but as room was over the entrance could be noisywith windows open. HAD A FAN IN THE ROOM . NO aircon.
NO air conditioning. Sunday evening after returning from a day out find the bar closed at 9pm!!! No residents bar. The manager did get us a drink but residents were coming in after us and were also shocked at the closing time and lack of residents bar.

I stay here once a year when i visit Blyton for a motorcycle track day. I cannot fault the Hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, good food, friendly, very professional and courteous staff and value for money. I have quite severe allergies and they are very conscious of how my meal is prepared. I guess the added bonus is they have no issues with motorcycle guests, as some place do. Car park is adjacent to the hotel.
My bathroom smelt quite strongly of stale water, that smell like old dishcloths. (no.7) That is my only complaint but it did not ruin my stay, just kept door closed.

Love the location and the staff are great !food is beautiful overall fantastic stay !
We have normally stayed in the hotel but on this occasion was put in a separate part . The room was quite small for a 3 night stay the longest we’ve been .The walls aren’t soundproof and through the night could hear people banging doors and generally being loud. Not that I’m a party pooper but can’t people just shut doors .We where next to the maids cupboard so we was up when the maids began due to the noise which we normally are early birds but didn’t plan to be up early as we had worked so hard so wanted a rest .lovely place and we do love going but my request next time would be to remain in the hotel that’s just my opinion everyone has a different idea of relaxation .

Staff excellent - really friendly & helpful. Room good - but TV didn't work so well, channels were all mixed up & static interference with signal. Even though room clearly booked for 3 people we only ever get 2 cups & 2 glasses - happens every time we stay here - so annoying as have to go to reception each time to ask for more. otherwise all good & good value for money
Not enough cups / glasses provided - such a simple thing that could be so easily managed

The staff throughout were exceptional, I am from a red star hotel background, these people were superb, truly friendly, keen to help, faultless . My only. Concern , the rooms were modern and spotless was the temperature, it wasn't a HOT day but the provided fan was required. Dinner was at a level way above average Gastro pub, breakfast faultless. These folk have recognized how to make life good for their customers and a bit easier for the staff, a pre ordered breakfast helps all round, decent sized car park, though the place must have 120 covers!, literally,🤪. The modern world of tech in booking and ordering aside, a BEAUTIFUL location, by a village riverside, lots of landscaped outdoor seating, whoever redid this country pub to this superb small hotel and restaurant needs applause. 😎😎
Aircon would have been nice, but a fan provided, and it is Northern england

Generally very nice & pleasant. Car park is a bit poky.
I paid for the breakfast but found the kitchen had run out of items early. I went for breakfast at 9:45 whereas it was supposed to end at 10. I was rudely told that I was late and the other customers had eaten all the food. I was also told to sit at a specific small table in the corner as the rest of the tables were being prepared for lunch. The staff should treat breakfast as their top priority until the official end time has passed. They knew I was coming because it was pre booked. This is poor service. The food that did arrive was good.

Fab location to where we needed, food in the restaurant for Dinner was fabulous. The rooms were clean, fresh and warm and whilst a little on the smaller size very comfortable and fit for purpose. Ingenious what they could fit into the rooms with sliding doors. Immaculately clean and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Breakfast for the continental option is a little lacking. There were a few pain au choc and croissants with jam, toast, but not much else. No proper coffee available only out of pre-made thermos.

Rooms have been created to a high standard, with quality fixtures, fittings and sanitaryware. Nice restaurant with rooms feel to the place. Well thought out use of space and plenty of safe parking on site or close by. Good selection of well kept real ale on tap.
Whilst I enjoyed the cooked breakfast, I did feel it was a bit of a 'light bite' compared to many I have enjoyed elsewhere. The staff were very focused on the restaurant side of the operation on arrival, so I felt that I was imposing on them. My poor timing most likely.

Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel with restaurant and pub in a lovely picturesque village. Stayed for a couple of days for a wedding. Enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again in the future.
Nothing to dislike but would just like to comment that air-conditioning in the accommodation would be an advantage and recommended for a cool and more comfortable stay.
