The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was better than superb, the breakfast staff coudn't do enough for you, overall this was a great experience, the Haddock and chips in the Buck Inn were tremendous. I wasn't expecting much from the accomodation, we just wanted a place to lay or heads, we were suprised by the room, the comfort and quality of the bed and linen, we got a really friendly Yorkshire Welcome, I would thoroughly recommend the Buck Inn to any walkers, rock climbers or general adventurers.
Not all of the staff were fully trained on the check in for the restaurant booking system, this is a training issue and minor, we were very quickly dealt with when the person with the passwords turned up.

I have just returned from a very enjoyable sunny holiday in Malham and the Yorkshire Dales, where my wife and I stayed at the Buck Inn, Malham. The Buck Inn looked splendid in the May sunshine on our arrival in the delightful village of Malham. We were expected and we quickly checked-in and headed to our delightful super spacious double-room with modern en-suite, with a fabulous view from the room overlooking the village and Malham beck. The room looked very nice, smart and clean, was an excellent size room, with wall-mounted flat screen TV, and a very comfortable double bed. There were excellent tea-making facilities in the room, with an excellent choice of different teas, coffees and hot chocolate. A nice touch was the provision of milk for each room, each day, in a small white flask kept cool in a free mini-bar, which we thought was a much better solution than milk sachets./tubes. The room was quite and we both slept well. We enjoyed a splendid breakfast everyday. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. There were an excellent choice of draught beers in the bar area and the Guinness was excellent. Check-out at the end of our stay was very slick. It was sad to leave the super Buck Inn at the end of our stay after such an enjoyable holiday, but we shall be returning to the Buck Inn, Malham, and Malham again sometime soon, for sure. Many thanks.
There was nothing I did not like.

Great staff, friendly and efficient. They managed to honour bookings from previous owners despite taking over the premises, everything we needed was catered for and food was provided by the neighbouring hotel, the Lister Arms. As always a great stay at the Buck Inn. Some repairs and renovations going on in the hotel but nothing that affected our stay, they were all done mid day when the hotel was empty.
Happy with everything, I guess having to go to another hotel rather than popping downstairs for breakfast can be seen as a negative, but I thought the fact they had arranged breakfasts with their competition was actually a great spirited thing to do and better than cancelling breakfasts for their guests. So top marks for that from me. But others may not approve.

Friendly staff. Very clean for a dog friendly hotel. Considering the price and location you really cant complain about much. Parking was very easy. Initially there were hundreds of cars and people around so we thought it would be a nightmare but there’s a little car park around the back and we got straight in.
Although the breakfast and dinner was very nice for pub grub, the menu is basic. Dinner service felt a bit rushed (couldn’t do starters then mains etc it all came at the same time which I think was more of a staffing issue) but if we could’ve had separate courses we would’ve stayed longer and spent a bit more on wine and desserts in the restuarant.

Staff very friendly and helpful, bed was very comfortable (I meant to check the brand of the mattress so I can get one but I forgot!), free parking and perfectly situated to access the walks around Malham Cove and the tarn. Cooked breakfast was lovely with a good selection of lighter options as well. Only sticking point is the poor WiFi, which I'm sure can't be helped due to the location, and I couldn't use mobile data either as no signal. So I wouldn't stay here if you have work to do! Having said that, I did manage to stream a film on my laptop in my room. And I didn't go there to be glued to my phone or laptop anyway! I loved it and have already booked another stay!
Poor WiFi and phone signal

Lovely old building, fantastic room - excellent value for money and very well equipped for a cold night! We arrived on the snow & we understand that the owners couldn't get there, understandably. However we were looked after by a wonderful young man, Robert who is the chef at the hotel. His name is Robert and thankfully he gave us everything we needed. Excellent vegan meals for tea and breakfast. A very polite,, very caring, and a lovely young man who made our stay at the hotel a great experience. I can highly recommend the Buck Inn - we loved our stay
Nothing - all was of a high standard

The location was perfect for us and the room exceeded our expectations - huge, comfy bed! We were completing a charity walk one morning before breakfast was due to be served, the manager kindly provided us with some cereal etc the night before so we could eat something before the walk. In terms of evening meals, the food was delicious (real “pub grub”) and we felt the staff did really well to cater for everyone in the bar and restaurant, as they were really busy both nights we stayed.

A relaxed and dog friendly inn in a beautiful setting for walking. Perfect for stays with your dog. No restrictions and a comfortable overnight stay. The guy in charge was on his own due to staff shortage and faced with an extremely busy breakfast time. Hats off to him he did an amazing job and kept calm and our breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately again due to staff shortage the restaurant was closed in the evening however we were lucky enough to get a table at a different inn 1 mile up the road.
The property itself would benefit from a little tlc in places but again there seemed to only be one person working so I have no complaints. The rooms were comfortable and clean and perfect for a dog stay.

Well presented place with good facilities. Bedroom was clean, had all the amenities needed (including a tray for muddy walking boots) and a lovely comfy bed. Liked the little fridge in the corridor with fresh milk. Bar/restaurant was good and plenty of outdoor seating. Pretty village and quiet overnight
We were lucky that the weather was okay otherwise wouldn't have liked walking over to the other pub/hotel for breakfast

The location is beautiful. The manager James was pleasant and very hard working seemed to be doing everything.Food was good room comfotable and very clean .
The prices for everything seems a bit high everywhere you go in Mallam. The room price was for 2 people sharing needed to filter out breakfasts as these are still for 2 even though there was only 1 adult staying. Breakfast doesn't start untill 8.30 so if going out on a long walk it is a little late. Looks as though the building furnishings etc are a little tired looking and need of refurbishment.
