Breakfast good, room fine, clean and comfy, location great and staff all very friendly and helpful.
Could've been clearer about the lift only going up to the 1st floor, we booked because of the lift and are not quite at the stage of needing a totally accessible room yet, so we managed. Entrance to the car park was tricky, rising bollards blocking some roads and one way systems, which meant we ended up driving around for a long time before finally getting parked up, could you provide clear access directions to the car park.

Lovely cosy Hotel right in the centre of Lichfield, close to all attractions and amenities. Really lovely guy front of house in the restaurant. Very polite and welcoming. Lovely, very helpful receptionist.
Would have liked some different breakfast options. The breakfast available was very nice and well cooked. Fruit, yogurt and cereal were available and a small selection of pastries. It would be good to be able to choose poached eggs, avocado, eggs benedict etc... Would have preferred a king size bed. The double felt small. The room was very nice, although quite warm and we were only able to slightly open the window which didn't really help. Also a lack of PowerPoints. Other than these few points, we loved the hotel and its perfect location. Would definitely stay again.

This old fashioned but charming city centre hotel was ideal for an overnight or short stay. The room was a good size and very quiet. The day we stayed there was the hottest of the year so far so we were particularly grateful for the fan that was provided in the room. There were excellent choices for breakfast and the serving staff were very friendly and attentive.
Ahead of our visit we requested a room on the second floor and got a confirmation that we would be allocated one but when we checked in we found that we actually given a room on the second floor. The staff on reception said that our request had been overlooked. This was a bit disappointing.

I was highly recommended to stay at the George hotel by my sister & her husband when I came to Litchfield two weeks ago to sort out a bit of business , I had to come back to Litchfield on 18 August 2025 to 20 August 2025 so where else to stay but at the George hotel in Litchfield
What can I say I did not find any fault when I stayed at the George Hotel in Litchfield the stay was perfect for what i needed, mind you did get wake up at 2.30 in the morning by the slamming of doors closing by my room, but other than that, everything was perfect

Excellent lift, fast and quiet. Good shower. Polite staff. Near to city Centre, cathedral, market, shops and many styles of restaurants and pubs. They allowed us to pay for one car park place shared by two motorcycles. Cleaner did a good job. Near to NM Arboretum and lovely city park and lakes.
Noises outside from revellers penetrated the double glassing. Car park small and £10 per night, (but council one nearby). We stayed 5 nights but had to ask especially for our rooms to be cleaned. Really squeaky taps.

We chose The George to be in the centre for our Christmas party. On arrival, the reception staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Returning to the hotel late in the evening, the staff were again helpful with drinks. At breakfast the next morning, we were looked after by Carol who went above and beyond with great, cheery service. The poached eggs that she brought for me were perfect as was the rest of the breakfast. High quality, well cooked and plentiful. The only tiny problem was the lights in our room - it was all or nothing which was not ideal. Otherwise perfect! Thank you.

Location is excellent and in the centre of Lichfield so you leave the hotel and you're amongst bars and shops. Limited parking is available but you do have to pay. The rooms aren't what you would call modern, but everything is there and it was clean. The hotel itself is quite nice and looks like the inside has had a recent lick of paint. Breakfast was very good quality and a reasonable price. The staff are pleasant and friendly. I would say that if you are at the front of the hotel on a Friday or Saturday night you will get some noise from the bar over the road. We were at the side of the hotel, so could hear a bit, but didn't bother us.

Right in the centre of Litchfield, it gives access to all local amenities. Beautiful former coaching inn, super decoration with very comfy beds. Buffet-style breakfast. As it was our first visit to Litchfield, we didn't know what to expect, but it is a lively centre, with plenty of bars, restaurants and traditional pubs. I will be visiting again. I was worried about noise as there was a wedding being held in the hotel, but our room was well away from the party and there seemed to be a midnight curfew anyway.

Very well maintained hotel. Spotlessly clean everywhere. We booked a double and a twin room- both were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Great selection of drinks on the 'tea' tray- even hot chocolate ( not many hotels provide that!). Breakfast was nice and th young waitress was friendly and bubbly, lovely girl. Parking fee was good value for money. We had a great family weekend, thank you 😊
At breakfast, there could have been a selection of bread rolls as not everyone wants toast. The sign regarding asking for non dairy milk could have been larger/ more prominent. My husband did not see it. The carpark was a little confusing- we initially parked on the larger carpark- it wasn't until we walked towards hotel that we found the carpark associated with the hotel. As it had snowed/ rained during night, the carpark was very slushy/ slippy in the morning when leaving- didn't look like it had been gritted.

Facilities were excellent room overlooked the terrace and was really quiet at the rear of the hotel but a lovely view. Location is perfect for exploring the town centre with everything on your door step bars banks restaurants shops cathedral and tourist areas to walk to. Hotel bar was very relaxing with outside seating front and back would recommend to anyone as staff so welcoming and helpful throughout.
Nothing to dislike soon as you walk into reception area it is a hub of activity with welcome from reception and the relaxing lounge and bar area makes you feel safe and comfortable surroundings.
