Amazing quiet locations with mountains in background. Also missive kitchen with pretty much everything you need there to cook your own meal. Was well surprised how well nice lounge/living room was decorated, very cozy with fire place made you feel warm and at home after a long cold day. Honestly everything was great and nothing to worry about heated warm water everything you need
The only thing I could think about was the side of a house outside after like 5 pm at this time of a year gets really dark I had my flashlight likely but some other people may find this hard to deal or dangerous of falling. But it wasn't a issue more of a something that could a be point out

The location of Forces Manor is great for reaching all attractions. The property is decorated with characters (soldiers and military-related things), and I was impressed by the interiors. The room is compact but comfortable. The shared facilities provide everything you need. It is also a lovely place to share experiences with other travellers. Everyone was so friendly there.
The water splashed out of the shower place because the glass wall cannot hold the water sufficiently.

Very unique place, with lots of military memorabilia, but also importantly comfortable beds and a good powerful shower: much appreciated when on a cycle tour. We enjoyed trying to identify the battles depicted in the paintings. A really friendly welcome from the owner who has a really interesting backstory into how he came to own Forces Manor.
A bike shed is due to be built soon, but there isn't one just yet. Also the bin in the kitchen was overflowing - just a little thing but even a simple notice about where to take full bin bags, and supply of fresh one in the kitched would have fixed this.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The beds were extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The lounge was cozy and perfect for relaxing after a long day. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, making it easy to prepare our meals. Tony, the owner, was incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. Plus, the provided parking space was a big bonus. Highly recommended!!!
The shower was quite small, and the sink was also tiny. The shelf above the sink was placed too low, making it uncomfortable to brush our teeth, so we ended up doing it in the shower (we stayed at Room 6). It would be nice also if a bath mat were provided, as the bathroom floor gets wet easily. Additionally, the walls were very thin, and we could hear noise from the neighboring room, which affected our sleep.

The parking was easy. The manager was responsive to reassign room when the e-checkin misassigned the room. The common area was interesting with the war/veteran decorations.
Like most hotels in this area, it is expensive compared to the quality of the bed, mattress and size of the rooms. A small investment is a quality mattress would provide a much nicer sleeping experience. Be sure to note if you book a budget room you a sleeping in sleeping bags and paying extra for towels. If that is your vibe, you'll love this place. Overall, not a bad place to stay, manager was accommodating. A few changes would make this place a nicer experience for a tired traveler and a better value for the money.

Forces manor is run by a lovely friendly man who makes you feel welcome. The shared full kitchen has everything you need to make most meals, even pizza makers. Smaller kitchen upstairs for making brews. The lounge area is beautiful, and there is plenty of seating, plush sofas, and unique armchairs. Strong sturdy dining area, too. The surrounding area is stunning. We saw wild rabbits. The unique army, navy, and RAF decor is interesting and educational.
People banging their doors closed at all hours, possibly due to shared bathrooms. Maybe soft closing doors would be good.

The location is fantastic for solo people travelling with or without a car; plenty of parking but only 5 minutes from a bus stop, practically on the long-distance Speyside Way, and twenty minutes’ on foot to water sports and restaurant/ bar facilities at Loch Insh. The common areas are warm and comfortable, the owner was very down to earth, warm and welcoming. Kitchen facilities are available to make tea and coffee and simple meals, and plans are to finish work on a bigger kitchen to accommodate more guests. As a solo traveller, I usually end up paying for two people in a twin or double room. This was a luxury stay in a private room at hostel prices.
It’s a shame the local shop is closed: take all you need! There is a bar in the village that has live music and pizza on Thursdays. A fridge is available in the kitchen and the lounge.

Place with lots of history, love and care from Tony and his crew. Bedrooms were slightly basic, but we didn't mind it. The room and the bathroom were warm which was nice after a windy day. Communal area was superb and we felt very welcomed. Had a nice whisky in the lounge and looked through all the memorabilia on the walls. Good location close to the Highlands museum.
A bin in the room would be a nice addition, but not a major bother.

A beautifully renovated historic property, and a great project for a very good cause. I was not aware of the charity behind the Forces Manor, having booked my room very last minute. Despite arriving late I was welcomed by the owner, who was very friendly and showed me around the house. It is a very impressive project! I really enjoyed my stay, there's ample parking, the rooms are quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything you may need to cook and the shared reception rooms are spacious and cosy.

It's helpful to understand what Forces Manor is. It’s not a luxury hotel, it’s a really good value property in a fantastic location with a great atmosphere. The rooms are straightforward, clean and well set up. There’s a kitchen and communal areas for eating and relaxing. As Tony pointed out, you certainly don’t need to have served to stay there and everyone's welcome. The interesting backstory is that it’s a non profit business set up to help those that have served. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tony and his team were incredibly welcoming. Will definitely stay again
