A very beautiful property. Highly impressed with the restaurant, the evening food (although alittle expensive) and service was amazing. Breakfast was very good. The room was large and clean, the large bed was comfy and extra blankets and a heater was needed due to the cold weather and the single glazed windows. The towels were AMAZING! Best towels we've come across in a hotel yet.
Not really a negative but this place is in the middle of a housing estate. The room could do with a carpet upgrade. The welcome to breakfast and check out was non existent which was disappointing. Tea and coffee in the room is on a tv cabinet which is quite low to the floor so makes it awkward when making drinks.

Beautiful old thatched roof inn in the middle of a housing estate - very unexpected. Spacious room with a very comfy bed. Staff were very helpful and helped us carry our suitcases up and down two flights of stairs. The pub is very popular with the locals and there was a hens party during our stay so it can get noisy. We expected a bit of noise staying above a pub and didn't mind it. Breakfast was very good - full English, continental, juices, coffee/tea. We also had dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Very close to Honiton town centre.
They don't have ground floor rooms but helped us with our suitcases.

We stayed over for 2 nights as we had our wedding at Lady Margaret's Medieval Hall which is just around the corner. When we viewed Lady M's we were given a few place names suitable for a small wedding reception.....we headed off to The Heathfield ....at a later date we had a gorgeous meal and stayed the night, the owner and staff are amazing!! They really go that extra mile, we have just had our amazing wedding there and the function room looked amazing...it was just perfect!!! Thank you Brooke, Michael and team!!! Not forgetting David the owner who was actually laid up in hospital until the very last minute.......your team did you proud and thank you for overseeing from your hospital bed, although I suspect Brooke probably gave you a telling off!!! I really hope the photographer took some photos of the room as we didn't :(

We were given a bigger room than we had booked which was very nice. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff lovely and friendly. The hotel suffered a power outage this morning which plunged the hotel and rooms into darkness. Full credit to the chef for getting our cooked breakfasts out as best he could and for the manager coming to explain and apologise. Excellent customer service with a smile despite the stressful situation.
Nothing really. It’s a beautiful 15 Century hotel but in the middle of a modern housing estate which I wasn’t expecting. You would never know it was there and you can’t see the estate from the rooms. Temperature of the bath tap was not very hot.

I'm sorry I can't answer many of the questions properly, as I booked the one night break for some friends who needed a time away. They were thrilled with their room and sent me some photos and I thought the room looked really nice. They were so pleased to have a bath and enjoyed their much needed stay immensely and the breakfast was a bonus, not having to cook it themselves and as one of them is a chef himself and his wife is a brilliant cook, for the breakfast to be a 'real treat', says it all! Thank you to all of you at the Heathfield Inn for our friend's break, and as you are pet friendly, we may book for us in the future with our two dogs.

It was a very good stay - even though we were there for just one night. It's not the most central location, but the sat-nav took us there with no trouble. Plenty of well-marked parking spaces. Rather a tight stairway to our comfortable roomy first-floor bedroom with a lovely bathroom. The evening meal was quite pleasant. My wife's lasagne and my 'smothered chicken' could have done with less time under the grill, as both had burned onto the side of their dishes, but that's being a bit picky. And what a super breakfast. Top quality ingredients beautifully presented and so tasty. The staff couldn't have been nicer - extremely friendly and helpful. Our poodle was made very welcome, too! We'd certainly go back when we're next in the area.
Nothing to complain about, really. Location in a housing estate a long way from the town centre didn't seem to deter the walkers and cyclists who we met at breakfast. A longish walk to an open area to give the dog a run. Could have done with some 'what to do in Honiton' info in the bedroom alongside the hotel rules folder. A few small points that could improve an already very good hotel

Very welcoming. The staff were very helpful. Especially regarding our late arrival, which we had previously arranged with them. Breakfast was excellent and staff suitably attentive and efficient. Our room generously sized and well appointed with a very comfortable double bed, excellent pillows and high quality linen. There was a bedside lamp on each side of the bed and ample sockets, both beside the bed and generally. A hairdryer was supplied.
The bathroom was very serviceable, with an efficient over bath shower and a shower curtain which was spotless and long enough, but does need updating. The main bedroom could do with larger more comfortable arm chairs as there is ample room.

The young man who was hosting was friendly, helpful and efficient, offering to carry our cases. The room was very nice, comfortable bed, a settee in front of a television and a good hospitality tray. Plenty of drawer and cupboard space. The bathroom was a little spartan but with good hot water and had all that was required (apart from some hooks on which to hang clothes while washing). It was nice to be able to check in at the late time (22.00 - 23.00 hours). Good parking, reasonable breakfast.
A little bit difficult to find (in the middle of a housing estate) but a beautiful building, with nice outside space. We only gave a "reasonable" for breakfast as the coffee could have been better and a better selection of cereals could have been provided. (I only mention this because you quoted on your website that it would be "a fabulous breakfast", so this is not a serious complaint, just a comparison with what we had imagined).

Lovely old farmhouse, converted to a pub/restaurant/hotel - now hidden away in a housing estate. Our second time of staying there. Great staff, especially Simon - who seemed to be everywhere, doing everything; also young lad (forgotten his name) who served our evening meal. Great evening meal and breakfast. Thank you all for a pleasant stay.
Have stayed in two separate rooms, which are good - but, being an old building, can be quite dark. There only seemed to be one older (sorry!) lady cleaning the rooms, so she was a bit pushed to do full cleans - suggest, that when a room is not booked, a better deeper clean is carried out, e.g. get rid of accumulated dust on wall lights, etc. Car park needs tidying up. Overall, didn't detract from our stay.

Good location for what I required, bar & food excellent, room very good despite being over the bar area!
I felt, when I saw the sign as I booked that the second evening the Hotel/Inn was booked for a Private weddding reception, no food or bar facilities available - rather annoyed that they had not informed me when they accepted the Private booking! Their alternative for food was that I could order from local restaurants who would deliver! Not very resident friendly!
