Our room and all the areas were well kept and exceptionally clean. We had a dog friendly room and there was a dog bed and water bowl provided. The hospitality tray was well stocked with tea, coffee and bottled water along with complementary biscuits. The breakfast had various choices with something for everyone and was also very well presented.
There were some squeaking floor boards noise from above and in our room but as it's an old building it was expected. On leaving I did mention to the receptionist that the plug socket was too far away from the mirror when drying your hair but wasn't a big issue as we were only there for two days. None of the above would stop us from staying in the future.

Friendly and helpful staff, tasty breakfast, nice warm rooms (probably too hot but nice in winter!) good location, comfortable bed. Would stay again. Really enjoyed the stay.
Rooms are quite dark (design scheme) and so was missing a brighter light in the bedroom. Poor soundproofing, a really loud family opposite us from early in the morning. WiFi signal poor in our room (top floor) kept dropping in and out. Slight musty smell, coming from bathroom but also in main room. These are all small niggles though just honest feedback, but would stay again really enjoyed it thank you

The location of the hotel is amazing, it really is in the heart of the town! As we arrived it looked beautiful! We were greeted by a really lovely, helpful lady on reception, who advised our room was ready early and we could therefore check in. Our room was decorated really nice, we had one double bed and two singles. The bathroom was really modern with good lighting. The bed was super comfy and had a great night sleep. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - a mix of cereals, pastries and fruit salad as a buffet and then cooked food you sat down and ordered. All staff working were so kind and attentive.
My friend and I stayed for New Years Eve, so we needed to get ready for the evening out. This was a little difficult because only the bathroom had good lighting. The main bedroom was quite dimly lit. There were free standing spotlights but they were too bright to use as extra lighting whilst getting ready. The temperature of the room was really, really hot. The radiators were off and we couldn't work out where the heat was coming from - there wasn't a dial on the wall to adjust. We didn't ask reception about this, we just used the fan and had the window open fully.

Location was very central to the town and in walking distance for most things. The hotel had a nice āvibeā to it. The room we had was very quiet - but I would imagine it could get noisy in the summer with the garden area at the back. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating.
Just minor things that didnāt detract from our stay. The telephone system lit up sporadically throughout the night thus disturbing sleep- but easily rectified by putting a cover over it. Because itās an old building there werenāt many plug sockets. So if I wanted to use the hair straighteners the mirror was at the other side of the room.

Superb location to explore the City. Perfect Breakfast, not too big or small. Lovely, Helpful Receptionist. A minutes walk to Chester's amazing independent shops, many of which are in 'The Rows', (quaint upper floors). Lots of pubs and restaurant's in the same street as The Town House. The City Wall (highly recommended) and Riverside Walks and Parks is only 1 minute walk from The Townhouse. We travelled to Chester by train so not sure about parking. Didn't appear to be anywhere outside the property. Our dog was made most welcome with a bed, bowl and treats.
Nothing.

Location fabulous, staff very nice, the Christmas decorations were lovely. The lounge and bar are were very nice, loved the sofas and it was really cosy and inviting. Breakfast was fab, full English was perfect and great quality and great value for money. The other breakfast offers were fantastic. I would stay here again without a doubt, but only Iād get a different sleeping option/bigger room for the reasons below.
For feedback⦠the 2 single beds were so small I thought I was going to fall out so it wasnāt a pleasant sleep sadly. I understand itās a small room and I think they move the beds in if you ask for two single beds, but I think Iād rather have two normal single beds and a bit less space than the tiny ones we had. Didnāt like the pillows they were too hard for my preference, but thats quite a personal thing and weāre all different.

A perfectly placed hotel within the walls of Chester close to all amenities. It has a family feel and some staff know you by name after a few days, but this was not intrusive and I felt very welcomed there. The staff are without doubt the biggest asset in the Townhouse - this was from booking, to reception, throughout the day and checking out. They will go out of the way to provide a special service. A lovely hotel that I cannot recommend enough, with an excellent breakfast choice and quality. I will be returning to trial in court there in November and have recommended to my colleagues. I shall certainly be booking it for myself first.
I really don't have any suggestions for improvement.

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. The rooms were also very modern. There were also complementary bottles of water, a range of teas and biscuits in the room. Our stay was very comfortable and I would recommend the hotel as the service was fantastic.
We were on the top floor which meant we had to climb 4 flights of stairs however we were aware that there was no lift and we were in a traditional property. The shower was perfect in the evening but in the morning the water was either very hot or very cold. The lighting was not great as we were on the top floor in a room with eaves. One of the side lights did not work and you could only turn the main lights off near the entrance.

The room was lovely and a good size Breakfast was reasonable price and really nice and fresh, loads of choice Staff were really friendly Great location Room had everything we needed
The only problem was that the windows donāt open - likely for safety reasons The room got a bit hot and stuffy in the night There was an electric fan available in the room but didnāt feel comfortable using it as it was thick with dust - understandable as not been used over the winter months but might be worth giving a clean going into the summer

We loved everything about the hotel and especially the Christmas vibe, this was our 1st visit at Christmas š The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the man who was working through the night during our stay (3rd Dec) was great serving drinks and even turned on the heaters outside when we went outside. I cannot find any fault apart from it would be great to have a mini fridge in the rooms. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice and warm. Definitely will stay here again when we come to Chester great location šš¾
