From reception all the way through my stay, staff were excellent, friendly helpful and efficient. The Hotel is clean and the room was functional but dated, Shower fitting's inside a bath is not ideal. But it's understandable to modernise a Hotel of this size would be expensive. The restaurant menu was limited, however the two meals I had here were excellent. Beautifully presented and well cooked, no complaints there. Sadly the lift was out of order, that meant three flights of stairs to get to the third floor but it was good exercise after meals. Would I stay again, a hearty yes.
As already mentioned, the Hotel is slightly dated but I'm sure that will improve over time as income allows. Otherwise in my opinion unless you really want to nit pick there's nothing really to complain about.

The hotel is close enough to Llanelli to walk into the town centre and the wonderful Stradey park but far enough away to enjoy the fantastic scenery of the gower peninsula. The staff were friendly and helpful we got moved to a ground floor room as the lift was out of action. Our room was spotless, fantastic shower suite and the bed very comfortable. The hotel had a nice original Welsh atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again. The bar was well stocked with international drinks and local brewed ale. The barman was knowledgeable with a selection of Welsh spirits on display.
We didn't stay long enough.

Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice. We were notified prior to arrival the lift was out of order and asked if we wanted a room on ground floor, we did not need this but nice to be asked. Room was small but very comfortable, great shower, comfy bed and enough room to hang clothes and handy table and chairs for sitting along with tea making facilities, water provided daily. Parking is down some steps unless you can park at the top car park, couple of disabled parking spaces. Great food served in the restaurant, although a little pricey. Lovely conservatory area for sitting having a drink and a very attentive barman. I have to add that the staff here are great, we were always greeted with a smile at reception and they were really helpful. Highly recommend!!!
If I am being really picky they may have some plumbing issues with water draining from the bath while showering but it did not cause us any issues, it drained eventually, just had a foot bath while showering, lovely!

Excellent breakfast served in the conservatory (great views of the coast) Wide choice to suit everyone and the hot buffet is fresh and hot ! Room spotlessly clean with massive comfy bed. Nice hot shower. Hotel is ideally located for a short walk into town. Very quiet and peaceful with a nice atmosphere. All staff polite and friendly. Shout out to Gemma in particular who although always busy was extremely organised and took the time to chat to all the guests.
The hotel is a little dated and is situated up a bit of a slope but we always choose it regardless. Lift is always out of order so request a ground floor room if you want to avoid a hike

Friendly reception on arrival and departure, all staff encountered during our stay were polite and attentive. We had drinks in the bar which was a good selection. We had breakfast (pay at the property) continental and cooked, which was good quality and cooked well. Our room was clean, well decorated, kettle with both tea and coffee supplied, large comfortable bed and bedding. We also had a fantastic view! En-suite was a good size and toiletries provided. There was an ironing board and iron for use situated in the hallway. Great value for money!
Not a dislike, just so others are aware. There is limited, tight parking outside reception. Plenty of extra parking on the grounds, access to hotel from there is either via steps or a walk up the ramp.

Lovely views from room on second floor front. Lift was working only for luggage due to technical problem but we were informed in advance so knew this. Bathroom had bath and shower both good picture missing from wall meant screws and hole showing. Bed very comfortable but bounce back high pillows not quite so. We were blessed with fabulous weather so more outside sitting area would of been nice. Didn't eat there ate at pub down road where food was good but that was just our personal choice. Can see work is being down in certain areas but enjoyed our stay enhanced by very helpful staff and brilliant weather . Blackout curtains would enhance sleeping.

Breakfast was of good quality and in a nice dining room/conservatory. Reception and bar areas were refurbished and looked smart. Ate in the hotel both evenings. Quality of food was very good. Staff were all very friendly and pleasant. Would stay again.
Whilst the reception and bar areas are good, some parts of the hotel are tired looking. The room where they are currently serving evening meals is a little depressing - not sure why they are using this room, when the breakfast room and bar areas are much nicer! The bedroom itself was good, comfy bed, nice sea views, but again a little tired and walls are very thin! Overall I would say the hotel is a 3 star, not 4, but it was good value for money considering what we had paid.

Enjoyable weekend stay. Staff were very friendly. Particular thanks for the receptionist (sorry we can not recall her name) who was helpful when we had to suddenly extend our stay by a night. The hotel responded quickly to email request of an accessible room for my elderly father. Good communication regarding the lift being out of action beforehand and being offered a ground floor room. Was pleased to find a non slip mat for the bath/shower for customers' safety. Only marked down for comfort as we both found the pillows too firm and full. Breakfast was in a very pleasant conservatory. The food was excellent, impressed to see two flavours of sausage which were oven cooked not fried. Poached eggs were perfect. The toaster even toasted the bread perfectly on the first attempt!

Fantastic value for money. Great location with some lovely walks straight out of the hotel (Parc Howard and the old railway line). Very reasonably priced bar and restaurant. Comfortably furnished with a really nice relaxed ambience. Clean throughout. Great room service that never disturbed us when we were in our room. Huge comfortable bed. USB sockets near bed and plenty of sockets. Shower was excellent. Clean towels every day even though we folded towels onto the rack intending to reuse them. Decent tea and coffee and plenty of milk provided plus bottled water.
This is nit picking and didn’t detract from our very enjoyable stay but since you ask: It was hard to find the car parking close to entrance on arrival the first time. It was dark, the lighting isn’t great and there were no obvious signs to the upper car park. Car park space markings are difficult to see in lower car park. The towel rail was so close to the wall it felt like a workout to get the towels out, and back on the rail after use. The bath is raised to accommodate the low level lighting - this is a nice touch but it makes the bath harder to climb into and there are no grab rails to help with this. The bottom of the bath is steeply curved so it doesn’t feel very safe to stand up when showering as you can’t put your feet in a comfortable stance.

The staff were exceptional, always willing to help with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. The whole place was spotlessly clean and well looked after. The food was cooked well and even when I went off of the actual set meals they couldn't do enough to make sure I was happy. The portion sizes were well worth the reasonable charge for such a high end hotel.
The only disappointment was the room. Although it was spacious and clean and the bathroom was huge with a seat in the shower and various handrails around, it only had a small window that looked out on an overgrown incline and was very high up. The lack of light coming into the room made it very dark and you needed lights on all day. I found it very claustrophobic and did not like it at all (ground floor, room 4, accessible room) I did not complain or ask to be moved as from what I could tell, all of the rooms were laid out the same. As the lift was out of order I could not access the upper floors so moving wasn't an option.
