Abolutely loved the location of the YMCA - Directly next to the Abbey, the Baths, the nightlife and the theatres. I cannot fault the staff or the comfy beds. We had a private room for 4 of us with a shared bathroom, but at no time did we have to wait to use the toilets or the showers. The kithcen area and diningroom were a really good size and we were always able to find a big table to eat and play games at. We loved the outside courtyard, and as we had excellent weather the outside decking gave the whole venue a holiday feeling.
This is a YMCA hostal and although the facilities and staff were amazing you have to keep in mind that they do not have the sam decor budgets as the large hotel chains. That said, it was clean and well maintained.

the location is not too far from the train station and other attractions. Its shared facilities such as bathroom/toilets and kitchen/dinning area are well provided and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. They responded quickly and with great enthusiasm. They love to help out and friendly in every way.
There was no elevator. No clear direction given to reach the hostel. Good thing we looked out in social media and found previous visitors suggestion to take alternate route to save from climbing stairs., It was noisy as some youth who stayed there during the weekend were not following house rules. They were running, jumping, screaming, yelling and laughing loudly in the hallways, and banging on doors after midnight.

This is our true and accurate review of how we found the hostel. We loved the friendliness of the staff (Theresa) from the first greeting to the last goodbye. The kitchen was always well stocked and cleaned regularly. Room and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Nice to have an outdoor space. All other staff were equally friendly and accommodating.
Too many cigarette butts laying on the ground. Too many smoking in close proximity to the dining and outdoor eating areas. Having to pay extra for a towel, its just a little thing, perhaps choose who you would charge if suspicious of theft. We only have small backpacks. I would prefer to donate than take from anyone.

Location is good, environment is safe, and the hostel itself is calm and quiet. Staff who welcomed us was a bit grumpy, but later an other staff was very friendly. We had a small room with two beds, pretty much clean. Window was rather dirty, with view to another house's back. Beds are really short. Room was a bit crowded for its size, having a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a chair, a sink (with 2 taps in the old way), and 5 big rubbish bins to select waste. Bed linen were ok. You have to pay for towels. There was one female and one male bathroom in the corridor, with 2-2 toilettes and some showers, with acceptable cleanliness. No need to queue and they give shower gel. Common halls were fine. We used this place only to sleep, not for daytime activities. There is breakfast in the common hall Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast was really good and greatly improved our impression of the hostel. At the breakfast table we could also chat with other guests, which was great. We would stay here again, but only on breakfast days.
We have stayed in other hostels in other countries before. Compared to them, we didn't find this accommodation as cozy. The hostel wasn't bad, but wasn't that good either. It would be nice to get rather towels than shower gel. Breakfast every day would be even better.

Amazing amazing so so good! Wow, it was a relatively last minute booking for the bank holiday and it did not disappoint! I kind of arrived expecting nothing but instead got everything I wanted and more ! Weâve interacted with 4-5 different staff members - all absolutely lovely, kind and so so friendly. Free breakfast on both weekend days was a lovely bonus too. The room was spotless, we had a lovely view of a church and blooming trees out of our window. Toilet/shower - always clean. We were worried as itâs quite central that it might be quite noisy since itâs the weekend but the hostel is actually quite tucked away so we slept like babies and didnât hear a sound. We also were able to keep our luggage with the YMCA for a few hours before our train, once again very kind of them. 10/10 experience, thank you !
Honestly canât think of anything at the moment !

I absolutely loved the location. It was right in the city, close to a convenience store, and close to a lot of restaurants. You'd have no problem finding it. I also loved that they had a patio outside with lots of tables and chairs so you can enjoy the sunshine while eating your food outside, knowing that you're already at your accommodation for the night. The lobby was great, which had lots of couches to chill at. They also had a small library and lots of board games. Their kitchen facilities and appliances were genuinely more complete than my apartment so do not even worry. I also found out that they offered free breakfast during weekends, which I didn't even know when I booked! The breakfast was amazing and exceeded my expectations. They had gluten-free options and also plant-based milk. The bed was comfy and had a small nightlight and an outlet, which is really all you need. There are lockers in the room which I personally didn't use, but you can put your stuff there. There were lots of bathrooms you can use and the one I used was really clean!
I feel like managing the beds of the dorm rooms could be better? When I checked in, I was just assigned a room and told to choose one of the beds when I entered, which meant they must not be monitoring the occupancy of each individual bed. When I got to the room, some beds looked messy, some were occupied judging by the personal items on the bed, and a few beds looked made up. I just chose a bed with the blankets and pillowcases still neatly folded up. When the night came, there were only three of us in a 9-bed room, which was great, but it meant that the other messy beds were unoccupied and must not have been made up yet. I don't know. It didn't ruin my experience or anything, it just confused me, that's all.

I've never stayed in a hostel before, so went with an open mind, some preconceived ideas but was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were all friendly, natural customer service professionals, who went above and beyond. The facilities were clean, tidy, presentable, comfortable and the double room was no different, to some expensive hotels I've stayed in.
The only downside was not having a TV in my room, which I knew was the case from booking, but it was missed. I didnât sleep well due to seagulls, pigeons and a barking dog keeping me awake. But, the YMCA couldn't help that.

You can easily walk to all Bath tourist places & shopping area and ten minute walk to Train/Bus station, close to large supermarket. Located in quiet courtyard. Staff are all friendly & helpful. Everything was fine, happy to stay again as area is not cheap.I used the laundry which was good value, didnt use the onsite discounted gym. Liked the fact they left out enough items so you could make your own food any time - toaster, hobs, airfryer, microwave, kettle & fridge storage but no oven as can't usually afford to eat out. Theres no lift but was glad as on the first floor out of three. I did like the large room with the tv, think they use it for meetings.
Even after waiting 3 min like being told getting hot water in shower can be an issue. I also know surrounding venues can have loud music at times sometimes in the day but mostly evening but not too late at night, I just tried to move away from it. Could do with a mini oven

Everything was really good. Facilities were clean. I was very surprised that for the price which I paid I got free breakfast as well. Also there is a kitchen in there with all of the equipment (microwave, toasters, waffle maker, cooker etc as well as pots, pans, cutlery). That was the best option for us so we could cook and eat whatever we wanted. The biggest problem was the internet. It constantly was off. It was ok for basic things but for people who would work there it wasnât good at all. After all, definitely recommended to visit. Perfect location, lots of shops around
