This is a B&B that is currently 'work in progress' and the new management are working hard to bring this beautiful property to its magnificent best. This means that a little extra patience may be required by customers over the next few months but there's nothing that should put anyone off staying in the meantime. A friendly, efficient service throughout our three day stay where nothing was too much trouble! Food in the evening was excellent with breakfast out on the patio really enjoyable. Llancarfan is a pretty setting but well positioned for Cardiff, the Bay, the airport and the Vale.

Loved the quirky pub was very hidden away. Was a lovely stay. The owner had only had it less than a week, said needs some work doing but he’s already on to do stuff to the rooms but we thought the whole stay was lovely experience, very friendly and even the locals in the pub. Very dog friendly nice walks for the dogs. Then we had food in the pub was very nice and all fresh and very delicious, we both ordered different and wanted to try each others so we halved our meal so we could try each other and very impressed cleared our plates, even asked if we could bring our plates to the chef to compliment his fine cooking skills. Would deffo stay here again .
Only trouble is and both the property’s fault is that it’s hard to get signal and the WiFi is still hard to connect to. But in a way it’s nice cause not glued to your phone just to live in the moment and enjoy our stay.

Location very good situated in nice village - although access to the village thro narrow county roads can be challenging. Cooked breakfast in the morning was well presented and of good quality. A non cooked breakfast is only provided on Monday and Tuesday of the week. Dinner in the evening was of good quality - although not cheap - and a 10% service charge was added to the bill even though there was no mention on the menu. But overall enjoyed our stay which was equal to our previous stay over early May bank holiday weekend in 2023. Would stay again in the future should time and circumstance prevail
Our stay overall was good.

Lovely place full of character. Room was nice and had plenty of surfaces and drawers for clothes. Breakfast was good. Chloe was lovely and very helpful throughout.
The wifi was a bit intermittent but I had data so was ok. There wasn’t any hot water after a boiler issue ( affected others too) but Chloe was really helpful and got it sorted. There were a few little areas where the cleaner hadn’t managed to get to but it didn’t bother me. The biggest issue was the location of the tap and basin in the bathroom. When the tap went on it soaked the area to the left so I had to put a towel down there but that worked fine.

I have loved this pub for many years so am not phased by the fact it’s a little off the beaten track down narrow lanes but it’s worth the drive. The staff were brilliant, the breakfast was delicious and we were graced with sunshine so the view of the church was spectacular. We sat under the glass conservatory with the heaters on and a blanket until midnight. Bliss
The room was a little basic and past its best. The carpet could do with replacing because it doesn’t give the best first impression. The rusty radiators wouldn’t cost much to replace but the bed was comfortable and bedding clean. Overall good value for money.

Lovely, rural location but not far from city of Cardiff. Quaint ‘pub with rooms’, lovely atmosphere. Quirky and authentic with historic charm. Clean public areas and great restaurant with super food. Lovely staff. Clean room, controllable heating, tea & coffee in room, plenty of hot water. Good parking availability close to property. Felt very homely and welcoming. It has its quirks and charm - if you’re after a faultless 5 star hotel, stay in Cardiff…but if you want charm, homeliness, great food and lovely staff, out in the countryside, this is your place!
Elements of the room were tired and requiring an upgrade, but the manager is aware of this and working hard to make improvements. WiFi is a bit dodgy in the bedrooms - because of the old stone walls, I guess!

The new owner of the pub was fantastic, very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Amazing meals on the menu at the pub at night. Breakfast was good as well! Over all, we had an amazing visit and we will return. Room was large, as well as the bathroom.
Only problem we encountered was the internet was having some problems in the room, but we were able to use it downstairs in the pub.

considering Adam has only had the pub for 5 weeks he did a splendid job of welcoming us and explaining his plans. Dining was very good and the wine tasting evening was an unexpected bonus.
not a comment on "did not like" just rooms were understandbly tired; however, beds were comfortable and Adam is doing the rooms up two at a time so looking forward to staying again in a renovated room

Continental breakfast was delicious. Adam the new owner was gracious and friendly. He had just bought the business a couple of weeks before so was noting things that had to be done in an old building. The pub and rooms were comfortable and local villagers present and friendly. The site is gorgeous on a little stream, next to an ancient church with wall paintings and in the heart of the countryside!

Lovely location.Nice walks and a gem of a church with medieval Wall paintings. Food was good, pub was busy, staff doing their best and cheerful with it. It's a very old building so maintenance is a problem.. Its up for sale so next owner may have to invest a bit in renewing old wooden windows. Otherwise can't fault it even the tea and cocoa selection in room were excellent quality.
The stream in the village is polluted..nothing to do with the Fox and Hounds but Vale of Glamorgan council should be doing something!
