Lovely family run hotel with attentive staff. It was a delight to have the family children on site who were all cute, fun and well behaved. The location is perfect, walking distance to everything in Chaloklum village including a range of restaurants and local shops. It’s also on the same street as the Sunday market which is a significant regular event. Of course the hotel is beach front so easy access to the beautiful crystal clear waters and powder white sand. Beware the sandflies though - best to sit on dry sand - I learned the hard way!

A little run down in places but all adds to the charm of a local establishment. If I were to give any feedback it would be to remove the old tinsel from the tree and bunting hanging from the building and maybe consider replacing the faux plants that hang in the entrance area.

I dont get why people leave bad reviews about this place. Probably not as well travelled as they think they are. This place is great when it comes to location and service. My room is on the ground floor, has a bathtub (that I didn't use), and huge sliding doors (one of which needs to be looked at) that open onto the terrace! The view is stunning, open sea and beach!! The people running g the hotel are amazing. I've had great contact with David regarding the logistics and whatever i would need. Everyone is incredibly nice and attentive. Its walking distance to 7-11 and Lotus, and lots of bars and restaurants. 10/10 i would stay here again!

A few things that I would've done had it been my establishment; upgrade the patio furniture. Plastic seats really dont go with the vibe of the place. Some nice traditional bamboo and cushions would go a long way. The same goes for the blue tent in front of the property on the beach. It was an eyesore, to be honest. Beautiful blue sea view, and a big blue tent obstructing the view is just a miss. Again, I'd go for traditional options that dont obstruct the view. Seeing as the view is the selling point of this place.

Absolutely loved staying at the hotel! The location itself is so beautiful and perfect with amazing views right on the beach. The rooms was incredible feeling large and luxurious with comfortable bed, jacuzzi bath, a great shower and beautiful beach front terrace. The staff were the highlight, showing such kindness and going out of their way to make our stay perfect. I told the staff in advance the booking was for my friends birthday and when we checked in the team had gone to huge effort to decorate the room. There was rose petals, beautiful swan and heart towels, happy birthday written in bamboo, balloons and roses in the jacuzzi. We were so impressed and touched by this, and it really made my friends birthday extra special. Very good value for money, the room was so elegant and beautiful and right on the stunning beach. The hotel itself is a lovely building with pool and roof terrace. Everything very clean and beautiful. Would 100% highly recommend, a very idyllic perfect hotel we wished we had booked to stay for much longer. Thank you to the staff for being so kind and helpful, we hope to return!

Lovely location, on the beach. However not a lot going on in Chaloklum. A few seafood restaurants and a decent Italian down the road. Malibu beach a short 5 mins walk and is lovely. Organised scooter and laundry through them.

A scooter is required and is quite secluded from the rest of the island. Nowhere to dry your clothes/towels from during the day. Bed was very firm, but does included a Massimo net which we would recommend.

Location location location On the main street of Chaloklum, on the beach, close to the restaurants and bars, near the peer. There is even a swimming pool. Staff very helpful and friendly

I would add some solid steps to the stairs going down to the beach, renew some of the plastic sunbeds and put a couple of sun umbrellas on the beach during the day.

The beach front room is awesome. I like the view a lot. It's not cheap but worth the price. It near many dive shops and there are many restaurants nearby with cheap price. You can rent motorbike or go to 711 in a few steps. There is a night market on weekend on the pier that very near the hotel. This area is quiet but the beach is beautiful, the water is clear and you seems have a private beach if you stay here. I think it's the best hotel in Chaloklum to stay.

The water in bathroom is a little salty.

Mandalai hotel was very nice, the staff were very nice and friendly! It’s only 3 min walk from malibu beach , and on Sunday there is very nice night market. The view from the hotel was amazing!

The bed was hard, and we stayed for one week and they didn’t clean the room.

The normal shower that's cornered off and on its own. The clean room with fridge and kettle and aircon. The mosquito net. The friendly staff. The beach in the back yard and sun loungers with umbrellas. The ambience. The staff that drove us to our next hotel. Desperately wanted to book more nights here but they were already booked. Close to restaurants, walking distance.

No complaints.

The room assigned to me was on the ground floor facing the road. Noisy and no privacy.
