We had 4 accommodations in Zanzibar, we spent 6 nights in this friendly, small hotel and had a very great time. Cleanliness, safety, kindness of staff absolutely 10points. And location is fantastic. Our room was upstairs, with a terrace overlooking the beautiful ocean, which was a few meters away. We heard sound of the ocean day and night, which was a wonderful experience in itself. The low tide is significant on this part of the coast, but even during the low tide the sight was wonderful and the atmosphere of the place was magical, as the local people marched out to the place of the water and collect the seaweed, fishes or maggots from under the mud for fishing at night. We also joined them at that time, or just watched them from the terrace, it was an absolutely unforgettable experience and feeling. The atmosphere is magical, wonderful, meditative, calm, we are very happy that we booked accommodation in Jambiani too, because e.g. we would not have had this special atmosphere in Nungwi. (there we were too 7 nights, there is an other feeling, there is a good too but not so special) We have been to many-many places in the world, but we have never seen or experienced anything like this, the great novelty of our trip was this, "the life of the locals during the low tide". It's great to think back on those wonderful and special days. The water in the ocean was 33-34 degrees and clean, there was no garbage in it, only some aquatic plants on top, but that didn't bother us, because at low tide we saw how many plants grow under the water, we knew where it came from, it was natural. The beach is beautiful and magical at low and high tide too. The accommodation is in Jambiani village, we liked it very much, it was interesting to see how the local people live, we also liked the muezzin right next to the accommodation.
The kitchen. They didn't cook that well for our taste, so we went to the restaurant next door to eat. But that's a matter of taste, otherwise it was ok.

We travelled with our 2 older boys so had 2 bed suite. It was very spacious and everything was catered for down to bug spray in each room. The rooms were very clean and well appointed lots of power points (they use european adaptors btw) the wifi both in the room and in the public areas is fab. The beds are very large and comfortable and all the linen is good quality. The kitchen area was great with a large fridge well stocked and reasonably priced and a water cooler which was a wonderful addition. The breakfast was stunning a lot of choice and so beautifully presented and served the juice was amazing. We also had lunch and dinner there all the food was delicious and lots to chose from. The location is perfect 10m from the beach where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Jambiani Village is really great we ate in a couple of local restaurants where the food was delicious and well priced all the local people were really friendly and not at all pushy there are a few shops and stalls selling local arts & crafts. The pool area is perfect lots of space and lovely furniture. Guido & Angela made us feel so welcome and their team are absolutely first rate nothing was too much trouble and they always greeted us with a big smile. Guido very kindly arranged taxi transfers and massage for us too. We would def return and highly recommend.

Room 6 on the ground floor with view to the sea. It was clean and tidy with clean drinking water readily available. Did not observe cockroaches. Directly outside there is a separate, small terrace. Beneath it, there are sunbeds that were frequently used. By the beach at low tide, it is lovely to wade out over the sandbanks and at high tide to swim. The bathing temperature was an incredible 33-35 degrees Celsius in the sea. Fantastic. Around the pool area and the restaurant there is a beautiful garden with palm trees and flowers. The restaurant serves a freshly prepared breakfast with a varied selection for each individual guest. The staff are pleasant and try their best to provide a good stay.
Little space to put down things and luggage in the room.

Villa Malaika is a little paradise! We hope to come back one day :-) We had the suite nr 1 which is on the ground floor, facing the sea, with 2 rooms & en-suite bathrooms. there is a kitchenette and free mineral water which is a great plus. The room had a terrace facing the beach. everything is very clean and new, the housekeeping team comes to close the moskito nets and spray some bug spray every evening aroung 7.00 pm which is great, but to be honest there are not many moskitos due to the wind coming from the seaside. The hotel itself is quite small and very nicely kept, you can walk around barefoot in the sand everywhere and it's right in front of a lovely public beach where you can swim at high tide and admire the low tide sceenery or go for a walk. There are many restaurants and small local shops close by and everyone is very friendly. We really enjoyed the fact that breakfast can be served at any time between 7.30 and noon, whenever your feel like it! and the breakfast was really tasty. Also, we loved the fact that you can use the swiming pool at any time, also at night, and the fresh beach towels provided each day.
We enjoyed our stay very much, but here are a few comments: The food was ok, but not the best we had in Zanzibar. Would definitely recommend eating in the surounding local restaurants which are better and cheaper. The pool water is very warm (more than 35 degrees), maybe adding some shade over the pool will help it stay a little cooler? Be aware, there is no AC. The windows do not have closed glass, just nets, so the breeze from the sea and the ceiling fans keep the room cool enough, but it does take some getting used to if you don't like the heat too much. It did not bother us and we slept beautifully with the sound of the waves :-)

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa Malaika in Jambiani for two nights from September 21st to September 23rd, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel manager, Guido, whose professionalism and attention to detail set the tone for our entire stay. The staff, particularly Omar and the other employees, were incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our time there. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The level of service was impeccable – from helping with our luggage to ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The villa itself was beautifully maintained, with stunning views of the beach and a serene, peaceful atmosphere. The accommodations were clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, providing a perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed every moment of our stay, and the location made it easy to explore the beauty of Jambiani. We cannot thank the team at Villa Malaika enough for making our stay so memorable. We highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with exceptional service. We will definitely be returning in the future!

We had an incredible stay in Villa Malaika. The breakfast was just breathtaking. Everything, even the dark bread and buns came freshly baken out of the kitchen. Also we enjoyed our meals on the brandnew built beach terrace, where you can sit and enjoy the wonderful beachlife of jambiani. The rooms were very well cleaned and all hotel areas are super well maintained. We will come back to this little paradise in any case!!!

Everything was perfect and I can not emphasis that enough. The hotel is right on the beach in front of the Indian Ocean. The sound of the ocean was so soothing at night and we had the best sleep. Being able to leave your room and step right on beach was amazing. The Wi-Fi connection was strong which was quite important to us because my boyfriend still has to word on our vacation. I celebrated my birthday and the staff and hotel manager went above and beyond to make me feel special. Our room is cleaned daily and in the evening a cleaner comes to ensure the our room is prepared for us to sleep which was such a lovely touch and makes you feel refreshed before bed. The hotel Resturant was one of the best meals we have had in Zanzibar so we opted to eat here throughout our stay. I loved the passion fruit juice which was literally picked from a tree at the hotel and freshly blended. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, freshly made with numerous options. All the staff were so welcoming and ready to help. The hotel manager kindly helped us organise a scooter during which was fun to travel around the island with. Never stayed at a hotel where a solo everything was perfect. Glad we stayed at Villa Malaika and I cannot wait to visit again.
Wish we stayed longer!

This is a perfect boutique hotel on the beach in Jambiani a lovely spot in the south east of Zanzibar. The hosts are very welcoming and inforrmative. The staff lovely and friendly. The room has a terrace right next to the beach. The pool is beautiful as well as the surrounding area where one can relax with a cocktail. The food was very enjoyable. Highly recommended.
Possibly air conditioning when it is very hot.

The property is beautiful! We stayed in a family suite with two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a huge open plan living area with a fridge, coffee machine and mini bar. There are some really thoughtful touches such as a water cooler in your room. Guido, the owner, is very present and always helpful. Breakfast was awesome and the food at other times was great too. It was also in walking distance of some other great places to eat. This is the best place I have stayed in in Zanzibar.

« magical Malaika » : Jambo !!! We spent 10 days in this wonderful place and we must say that this was a once in a lifetime experience, in terms of quality of the resort and the food but also in terms of human experience. Guido, the manager was always very reactive and gave us perfect advices on what to do or not to do in Jambiani. The excursions are just great, we did snorkeling, the lunch on the desert island and also the monkeys’ place in the jungle. We have so many memories that are still enlightening our days. Finally, the two assistants there managing the restaurant are the nicest people we have never met. The November season is great, good weather, only a few showers but never more than 30 minutes per day so refreshing at the end of the day. the last day, Guido kindly organized a private dinner on the beach. tremendous experience
