Good location not far from the bus stops and a short walk away from the market, but far enough to be away from the noise amd get good views. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean. A nice lounge area on the top with hot/cold water and a small "store" where you can get cup noodles or something else if you don't feel like venturing out in the rain.

The shared bathroom is cramped and the shower is right next to the toilet so it all gets wet. The single room is between it and a stairwell so it can get noisy with people coming and going. Also, it was a bit hard to find - a smallish path out of the market and up some stairs before you see the sign.

I stayed for 2 nights, and it was a great base to visit Jiufen and surrounding hikes (Tea pot mountain, etc.). If you're considering staying over in Jiufen, do it! There is a small window of time when the day tourists leave and the shops start closing where it's much quieter, and I really enjoyed that. The hotel's location is great, right next to the main street and not far from the bus stops. The view from the 4th floor is very nice, I guess you could also use that space to work. There are also some fridges available on the floors, which was a great touch. Overall it was a really pleasant stay and the staff was very nice and available throughout.

We caught an Uber from Keelung to this property and that was the best decision we made. It was pouring rain and our wonderful driver managed to drop us at the back door (after some very narrow and winding roads!) The staff were very helpful (inc directing the driver where to go, it is tricky to find) The room was large, the bed was comfortable and the view was spectacular (after the rain and mist lifted!) so close to the main street and buses . We spent 2 nights here, and caught the bus to Shiufen via Ruifen on one of the days we were here. If you have bags, then taxis are the way to go, cheap and easier than getting bags in and off crowded buses. Absolutely recommend this accommodation.

Lots of stairs, no lift for bags. Not too much of a problem but if you have mobility issues I suspect this will be hard work.

It was really great value for money and arguably the best and cleanest place I stayed at during my 1+ month trip around Taiwan. I did not expect much as accomodation in Jiufen tends to be bad and overpriced in general, and was pleasantly surprised. Low reviews you might see are before renovation, so don't worry! The place has been freshly renovated, the room, bathroom and linen bed were spotlessly clean, the beds were supercomfy, and the room was equipped with a new heater and dehumidifier. The front desk staff was very helpful and spoke decent English, and the staff kept in touch on WhatsApp providing very specific instructions, late check in was not a problem either. My room didn't have any special view (though there was a proper window, which is a plus in Taiwan), but there are shared balconies with a great view. Highly recommended!

Cute place with lots of info messages before and during my stay. Everything was clear, no need to worry about little to no information in regards to booking, finding the place, check-in and check out process. They provide rain coats for free as well as insect repellent, coffee, tea and luggage deposit etc..

I'm honestly not sure but I had a ton of bites after my stay. Benefit of the doubt though please and it might just have been a bunch of mosquitos since it looked clean and cared for and I didn't see anything in the bed or elsewhere that might indicate another type of bug, iykyk. Another thing is it is uphill with quite a few stairs and I wouldn't recommend heavy luggage.

A safe havennn in rainy Jiu Fen! its not far from the bus stop and once we arrived, everything’s way better than I expected. the cleanliness and the readiness of the staffs are just ❤️❤️❤️ everyone is very helpful and patient with us esp Chenny, Jacob and Doris. They’re always stand by on whatsapp as well, very helpful to find the place and they also help us to book the taxi to the station. The building itself is very clean, very well-decorated and they have complimentary water, tea and coffee also shared fridge if you need. hot shower works really well alongside the heater and dehumidifier in the room. A very enjoyable stay overall!

Just amazing! I loved this place! Definitely recommend! The staff is so incredibly sweet, they sent me a ton of recommendations for where to eat and have tea etc and every interaction they were so sweet and attentive! I got a complimentary upgrade to a very nice room with window and my own bathroom. It was very clean and very spacious. No disturbing noise at night, very peaceful! Slept very well. The location is perfect, if you’re on Old Street, take a left by Gold Café and go up some stairs and there it is.

Really nothing to complain about. Maybe could use a sign in English on the gate so you know you’ve found the right place, but that’s minor :) This is not specific to this place, but maybe useful advice: Jiufen isn’t optimal with big luggage because of the stairs - if possible I recommend taking a small overnight bag and store main luggage cheaply by the train station in Ruifeng (it is expensive inside the train station, but there’s a cheap place just left of the train station that stores way cheaper (the visitor center pointed me there)).

When I arrived, they were incredibly kind—welcoming me warmly and even letting me leave my bag there early. But what really stood out was the next day: even though my booking had already ended, they still let me take a shower and dry my clothes while it was raining. That kind of hospitality meant a lot.

It would have been helpful if they had sent some pictures or directions on how to get to the hotel. I know they asked if I needed them, but honestly, it would’ve been nice to receive them by default—just to make things easier.

Really helpful staff. We were able to leave our bags and enjoy our last day before we left Juifen. It was pouring, and they offered us a free rain poncho and an umbrella. They also had hot water for instant noodles, and cold water for drinking. The room was super comfortable and clean. Beds were lovely and comfortable. The location is also fantastic, super close to the old street. The view from the rooms is also amazing! Overall, we loved our stay here and would definitely stay again!

Great value for money. The location was right off of the main street. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend if you want to stay in Jiufen

Jiufen itself is not a place I recommend. Overly crowded and the restaurants/everything is only open during specific hours during the peak of the tourist day. Legitimately no clue where anyone eats breakfast and you better eat dinner no later than 6pm.
