Loved the hotel - beautiful styling, great facilities. Room gorgeous, clean and well presented, very comfy huge bed, spectacular view. Great to have a mini bar and coffee machine. Bathroom spotless, shower was powerful and hot.

There was a persistent thrumming noise, couldn't tell if it was coming from inside or outside the room. Very disturbing at night, almost like a loud vibrating sound. Switched off the aircon but it continued - possibly an AC unit from an adjoining room? Also, for a 4* hotel, the quality of the toilet paper is very poor! Thin and scratchy - please improve this!

This is a beautiful hotel. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The staff were so professional and helpful. Lucia looked after us so well in the restaurant. She was so polite, kind and helpful. We really appreciated her professionalism. The food was absolutely delicious and served generously. The choice of the decor is modern and the ambience delightful. Parking facilities are excellent and access is easy. The location of the hotel is superb as it is only a short walking distance to the city centre. We really look forward to another stay in this hotel.

Nice modern hotel. Very good breakfast. Nice cafeteria. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room large and comfy. Very clean. Bathroom huge. Great underground parking although expensive at 18 euros. Overall fit for purpose. Reasonably easy to find and only 20 minutes from the ferry ⛴️

Being bombarded 4 days running with a request to check in on line. I am old fashioned enough to prefer a face to face. Sound proofing is not good. My night was disturbed by a barking dog and 6 girls having a party in the next room at 2.00am. Not conducive with an early start to catch a ferry. Dinner menu somewhat limited for choice whereas breakfast was excellent. Lovely bathroom spoiled by a shower OVER the bath. Certainly geared towards the younger generation.

Hotel Gran Bilbao is spacious and things function well. People at the reception are quick and helpful. Thanks also for upgrading me to a big room with a wide view to the hills and mountains surrounding Bilbao. Really appreciated <3 The bed was comfy and the room seemed pretty silent so I slept well. The air-con functioned well. I also loved the filtered water automat in the corridor, just behind my hotel room door (btw. water in Bilbao is tasty everywhere!) Breakfast is big and super nice. I stayed for 4 nights and ate so much every morning that I could easily stroll around the city until late in the afternoon. For the evening, there's also a restaurant and bar at the hotel but I had no time to try them this time. Next time, then!

The visual look of the bathroom could be uplifted a bit: the bathroom is neat and tidy but quite bland. Also, this hotel is located a bit further from the most central quartiers of Bilbao (but there's a bus stop just in front of the hotel - though I preferred walking up the hill to the hotel). But: if you plan to tour the Basque Country by car, this location is perfect for getting smoothly out of the city. I'll definitely book a room at Hotel Gran Bilbao for my next touring trip! But if you're staying only in Bilbao, you may want to find accommodation from a more central spot... but most of them seem quite pricey (unless it's truly off-season going on).

Very modern and spacious room. The espresso machine and the pods were an excellent touch for coffee addicts like us.

Wifi was very bad and the locación is about 20 min walk from the centre. The parking costs 17 eur per night

I was greeted by a very friendly smiling front desk person Ms Tatiana who brighten my day immediately on my arrival even when it was gloomy , cloudy and raining outside . I was earlier than standard Check in time yet she allotted room with a broad smile two hours before which was well appreciated. She also handed me a map of the city but also came out of her desk to show me the walking pathway to old town and advised bus no 77 to return ( if required) On reaching my room which was very spacious , neat and clean with all amenities a person would like to have while travelling I was greeted by a housekeeping staff MS Bubemi . Soon I approached her again as she was just outside my room to show me how to operate the coffee machine and she very efficiently taught me how to operate but also made a cup of coffee for me which was much much appreciated. there was clean water fountain outside the room and she also showed me different functions to get hot water and cold water to fill the coffee machine. I wish her all the best . She was very nice. The Bathroom was rather large and spacious with all modern facilities but the best part was very effective Air conditioning for a very good night sleep. Another thing which is worth mentioning here was a guest relations personnel approached us while we were having our breakfast next day to talk about tourist attractions of the city and she was a hotel staff and not a tourist guide /travel agent . This service was offered to guests on behalf of Hotel to promote the city without any strings attached . Bravo !!!

Everything was smooth .

Stayed in a triple room - 3 friends travelling for the first time to Bilbao and surroundings. Comfy beds, big room and big bathroom too. Car park €17 a night, perfect to leave the car there on checkout day before heading to airport later in the day. If I had to recommend one thing to the property is to check the towels before putting them out - nothing to do with how clean they were (perfect in that sense!) more to how old some of they were which might have been worth removing from their stock (was only one out of all the ones we got) Other than that absolutely perfect! 12-15min walk from the city centre

Spacious room & bathroom, comfortable king size bed, great breakfast buffet with open kitchen, also a good choice for dinner. Walking distance to the old town. Bus no 77 stops in front of hotel. Tram station to attractions also 5 min. away. Friendly & efficient staff. A plus is the water machine provided on each floor to refill. Good value for money, thank you!

The only difficulty we had was the GPS directions to find it by car. It appears as Gran Hotel Bilbao, not as Spirit Gran Hotel Bilbao. There are many exits, tunnels, bridged & roundabouts in and out of the city which makes it complicated if you miss the right turn. Atxuri is the sign you turn to enter the hotel road.

We got a very nice and big room with a beautiful view, and the wallpaper had a grass motif, so we felt like ants in the grass. The breakfast was beyond expectations. The parking garage is a great benefit considering the lack of parking spaces in general in Bilbao. It is also commendable that the city bus line passes in the immediate vicinity.

A coffee machine is available to guests in the room, but we were unpleasantly surprised that only one coffee capsule is free, while the hotel charges EUR 1.50 for each additional capsule. We did not like that the reception kept calling us and asking for the exact time of arrival. You don't know that precisely when you're on vacation. The mobile application for pre check in does not work well. AC was not working well.

Great hotel. It had a great restaurant. And also had a cool bar in the lobby area, which I love in hotels. All the staff were so friendly. Great car park, loads of spaces, and you can come and go easily by car via the automatic barrier. Great beer, coffee, food, and views. The location was great, overlooking a nice river, and easily accessible by car, just off a nearby accessible road. It was also right beside the old town part of the city, and everything is within walking distance, you can walk all the way into the city-center, and the river makes it very easy to locate the hotel. I will definitely be back.
