Great location, lovely building , very kind people, nice food and local drinks. The accessible room was super spacious and there is a lift to the upper floors. The surranding views are spectacular and the hotel has direct access to the lake, which offers a lot of activities. We were pleased to learn that the hotel also has a bike store, so we could just store there our bikes on our 3 days stay. There is a perfect rout around the lake for cycling with small traffic on the west side and literally no traffic on the west. On our return to the hotel we had some snacks and refreshing drinks in the garden and enjoyed the fabulous views. We will definitely return!
The bathroom was a bit tired, although it was perfectly wheelchair accessible.

Friendly staff and lovely grounds. Comfy bed and good location. Excellent breakfast
Didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel - thought this was a bit misleading when booking

Beautiful location and lovely building. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Free drinks if you don’t have maid service. Great breakfasts and lovely dinners. Plenty of free parking. A room with a view is worth it, we had a view of “The Old Man” and waterfall or there is a lake view. Very close to the Bluebird cafe and the lake with all sorts of water activity including rowing boats, kayaks and motor boats e.t.c. you can take out yourself or boats you can sit on and listen to a guided tour. If you’re interested in Donald Campbell, the lake tours will tell you all about him and “Bluebird” is nearby in Coniston in the Ruskin museum and his resting place is behind “The Crown Inn” Coniston . There are other pub restaurants nearby, choose wisely. If you want a bit more bustle then make a visit to Ambleside and Windermere. There are obviously lots of walks.
We had an extra large bed in a double /twin room. So, this is the twin beds pushed together which leaves a ridge down the middle. While you’re both sleeping on your sides of the bed it’s no problem, but if you plan on doing anything else you need to do a lot of manoeuvres to avoid the ridge 😏, but don’t worry, the rest of the room is big enough for all activities 😉😏

Beautiful location, stunning views, friendly staff, good decor, good quality food & very comfortable room. Well behaved dogs are welcome and it was great to see them in the bar area with their owners. If staying for more than one night you receive a voucher that can be used for a free evening drink each, if you choose not to have your room cleaned the following morning.
Some of the seating areas in the bar were a bit cramped and the majority of seating was a bit uncomfortable for relaxing, the small quiet room where pets aren't allowed has slightly comfier seating but the seating could be more so. Obviously wanting to cater for as many people as possible!

The first-floor superior room was comfortable and has great views. It has plenty of room to accommodate a large dog and its bed. The food in the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast is now a convenient self-service buffet which caters for the "full English" but was well prepared. Any other breakfast requests though, e.g. porridge or scrambled eggs, can still be ordered at the bar and brought to the table. As the weather was good for March, we were able to sit out on the lawn and enjoy the view and tranquility. We choose the Coniston Inn partly because it is so dog friendly though the charge per night has increased 50% since 2022 but I suppose that's understandable.
Nothing really.

The grounds, room, and staff were excellent. Proximity to Coniston village was also great. The room was comfortable and clean, with plenty of car parking space to accommodate numerous guests and their vehicles. Decent beers at the bar, though on the expensive side.
Breakfast of a morning was nice with good choices. However, it was a little chaotic as other guests raced around with a confused layout. A drawback was having to dine in what felt like a dog pound one evening. Numerous dogs barking and yapping. Admittedly, we are no fans of dogs in eating establishments anyway - why has this become a thing? But with our location, accept high numbers of dogs in the area. The hotel has a 'well behaved dog welcome' policy, but nothing was done about those not so well-behaved.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, location is amazing, they have a room where you look at the mountains in comfy chairs with a beer, you can't beat it. It's a short walk to coniston and the hotel is right by the lake, bet its lovely in summer. Its also a good location for walks so can leave the car at the hotel. We ate at the hotel our first night and food was good, buffet breakfast was good too. Will definitely stay again.
Not much, our double bed was two singles pushed together so had a hard bit in the middle which was annoying but I know a lot of hotels do this other than that was fine.

Absolutely loved this place: wonderful beautiful location, overlooking Coniston lake, comfortable rooms/beds, staff are magnificent. Good selection of food so not a worry on rainy day if you can’t get out far. Good bar. Offers selectional cleaning which is environmentally friendly. Dog friendly.
Need to be aware of small bathroom/shower, low pressure shower. WiFi is very weak or overloaded, so not a location to work from (if needed). Also, not many nice food venues around in Coniston itself and no fridge to store own food, so you are a bit trapped with Inn’s bar and restaurant and in a week’s time you will go through full menu 😅

The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly. It was warm and welcoming. Izzy was lovely and friendly. She was the only staff member whose name i got. As we were only staying two nights, we were asked if we didn't want our room cleaned the next day? Which was fine with us. We got a free drink, which I thought was a good gesture. Breakfast was really nice and there was plenty to have. The grounds of the hotel were really nice and the views were amazing.
Can't fault the hotel, really the tiniest issue was the TV never moved to be able to watch in bed. But again, a minor issue as it was only to watch before going to sleep.

We loved this spot, our favourite of our trip so far. The location is stunning, building is lovely and charming, staff were helpful, breakfast was great, rooms were clean, very comfortable, and nicely decorated and it’s right on one of the lakes. We also felt it was great value. We were accidentally high maintenance guests (international debit card didn’t work at first, I accidentally knocked my glass of wine over at dinner, had some wi fi problems in our friends room) but the woman who I’m guessing was the manager was very helpful and nothing seemed like too much trouble.
As I’ve found in a lot of hotels with central heating, it did get very hot in the room overnight. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the staff member behind the bar seemed a bit overwhelmed and I’m not sure if the restaurant just doesn’t offer it or he didn’t know, but there weren’t many gluten free options mentioned for a coeliac guest.
