The staff are very welcoming and friendly, they are very dog friendly. Excellent facilities such as the dog paddock and bins. Lovely garden areas to sit outside to relax or eat, the garden was well maintained and pretty. The owners and staff have a lot of pride in the hotel. Nice relaxing areas in the lounge to sit and relax, areas for you to dine with your dog but areas for people who do not have dogs. Lovely welcome pack for dogs explaining facilities and behaviour expectations so that all guests can enjoy their stay. We had a lovely room which was quiet and peaceful. Our second stay here and we will be back. Lovely walks and easy to explore local area.

Booked as a birthday treat for my husband , the hotel stood out as its dog friendly so we could bring our cavapoochon with us ! Deiric , that’s the dog ! Received his little welcome doggy bag which contained the doggy rules and some treats The room was tastefully decorated , minimalist, massive bed , nice linen . Bathroom spotless and modern . We were upgraded on the room which was a lovely touch , so thank you ! There’s a massive dog run outside which to be honest is fit for a couple of horses . The hotel is a short drive from Milford on the Sea , also you can walk it ! All the staff were really friendly , toe food in the restaurant was delicious so in all a pawfect 🐾 stay

Breakfast wasn’t included unless booked direct. We paid each day for Continental. Could have full English, cooked to order . Good selection but we have been spoilt by more choice at other hotels. Fruit was Melon,orange slices or grapefruit. There were Croissant , pain au chocolate , cereals, toast and yoghurt with granola. Central location for touring the New Forest. 5 mins from Milford on Sea Bedroom well equipped, fridge was a bonus , iron , ironing board ,lots of towels, great shower.Plenty of tea and coffee

The decor was in good condition and clean but a little old fashioned and we didn’t feel inspired to sit in the lounge.All the staff were great, bedroom was great , restaurant good . It had everything you needed but No real heart or atmosphere to the hotel .

South Lawn is a lovely Country hotel, in a perfect location. The staff are all so very friendly & happy to go that little bit further to make your stay the best it can be. It’s very clean & welcoming from the instant you walk in with a lovely lounge area for guests. It’s super dog friendly, but also very good if you’re in a wheelchair, as it’s mostly open plan & the room we had was a good size with moveable furniture, which is ideal. No wet room, but a big enough bathroom for a walker. There is a great enclosed paddock out the back, which is very large & it was great to be able to take our dog out there & sit down with a cup of tea while he runs around & plays with other dogs. The restaurant had a simple menu, but all the food was delicious. The bar area is comfortable with a nice vibe. Perfect location with it being quite central to most places you’d want to visit in the New Forest.

Nothing to dislike, but if I was going to be picky, I’d say the skirting boards need dusting a little more often. Everything else incredibly clean.

Excellent room in a very nice hotel. nice bar, with a seperate lounge and a spacious outside seating area. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Nothing was rushed, we had a very relaxing stay. Excellent breakfast

We chose to eat in the restraurant on our first night. We found this disappointing, due to a small menu choice, portion sizes and price. I can handle Al-Denta vegtables, but not ones that do not like swimming in water. Even my fork looked like Uri Geller had got hold of it. The second night we opted for the local village pub, as did three other couples who were in the restraurant on Friday night

Good location for visiting the New Forest and the coast. Large free car park. We had a lovely walk to Hurst Castle on one day and explored the New Forest on the other day. We stayed in room 14 which was a great size, was clean and had lovely views across paddocks. It was the quietest room I have ever slept in, which was fabulous and just what I needed. Plenty of staff, who were all efficient, polite and friendly. Room well stocked, with tea and coffee making facilities and a small selection of toiletries. Nice big bathroom with a good shower. Hairdryer and iron/ironing board. Good value breakfast - the £12.50 included cooked options (they were happy to tailor to individual choices) plus great choice of cold options and unlimited tea, coffee and fruit juice. We had dinner in the restaurant on both nights. The service was great and the food was very tasty BUT see comment about portion size/cost ratio.

I do think the dinner portions were on the small side for the price. I had mushroom lasagne on the first night, which was roughly £18 and it was served in what looked like a breakfast cereal bowl with no accompanying vegetables or salad, so I requested a roll and butter to bulk it out. Our roasts on the Sunday were beautifully cooked but at roughly £18 each only included 2 small roast potatoes each and a single cereal bowl of cooked vegetables between us. My husband's cheese board was just under £10 and consisted of about 5 crackers and 5 very small pieces of cheese and some onion chutney. Some fittings and paintwork a little tired but that's just general wear and tear. Bed a little hard for my liking but that's a personal preference.

Lovely looking hotel from outside nice welcome from reception we asked for ground floor room due to walking disability and the hotel provided a ground floor room I did notice they have a disabled lift for upper floors nice bar area and lounge for afternoon tea evening meal was very good and very good service breakfast was very good as well our room was large clean and fresh the walk in shower excellent with safety handles in entrance and inside we had a lovely stay and will return big thank you to everyone

Our room was excellent with everything necessary provided and very clean

The continental breakfast was very disappointing. I'm aware that most residents requested a cooked meal but it should have been made clear by the waiter that cheese and meat were to be ordered separately. When it arrived after a very long wait I received 2 slices of salami, 2 small squares of ham and 3 cubes of cheese! I understand that fresh food cannot be left on the buffet table as in most European hotels but to wait more than 20minutes for a meagre portion was not acceptable

We could venture out into key attractions as this hotel is centrally located. On an average we sent 25 min. to each of the places of interest and therefore could visit more places than we thought. It's a dog friendly hotel which was great for my pooch. He also received a goodie bag with treats, feeding bowl and a ball which got him super excited! The food was great and the staff courteous with great attention to detail. I have pinned this hotel for any future visits and highly recommend anyone visiting New Forest to stay here.

The menu is limited but has enough choices. Items are slightly pricier, but they tasted great and the quality of service was excellent!

Liked the location, ideal spot, spacious room.sfaff were friendly and helpful.

No pillow protectors, bed was well too firm, both suffering with bad back now. Breakfast wasn't included so on the last morning we decided to pay for breakfast, bad idea, all was undercooked and not hot,we couldn't finish it,even the coffee was only warm,waste of money. The shower mat wasn't very clean, mould underneath it, the iron had a burn mark on the iron plate, the kettle hadn't been emptied, full of bits. The rooms view was only a view of the car park and a flat roof, water pressure was a joke, expected more for the money I paid, we will not return!
