A Very warm, friendly and cosy hotel, conveniently placed for exploring Southport. The whole place was very clean and tastefully decorated. We loved our twin room with its comfortable beds. The usual array of complimentary tea/coffee and what looked like high quality toiletries. In addition, all staff were lovely and helpful and constantly ensuring we were happy We thought the evening meals were excellent value with a good choice and we also enjoyed the continental breakfast. Lots of choice and a full cooked breakfast available for a supplement.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Check in was quick and easy despite me arriving fairly late at night. Initial thoughts were the place was clean and well presented. Room was just the right size, not too cramped in anyway and had everything you'd expect. Shower was hot and powerful and rhe underfloor heating in the bathroom was welcome underfoot. Breakfast was your standard affair with a particularly good pot of filter coffee on offer.
My only gripe with the stay would be the noise between rooms, over the years I've learnt not to expect too much especially from older properties, but if the neighboring guest had a loud mouth to accompany their nocturnal dyspraxic movements I'd have had a fairly unsettled night.

Location excellent Bar and food excellent. Highly recommend the afternoon tea. Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. We can't wait to go back it was better than expected.
Only one thing we didnt like and its a shame really. Ok Room 16 has an absolutely fabulous spacious room BUT the bed on one side is so uncomfortable. Its as soft as cotton wool but too soft and it has a huge dip in the middle. I felt like I was in a hammock. Made me wonder if they put the matress topper on which explains the softness to compensate for the matress that's had its day a while ago. Opposite side of bed was flatter, didnt dip but you could feel the springs poking through Only thing that let our stay down, was the rubbish matress. Shame really But a good night's sleep is the important part of any hotel stay

The staff were great as was the continental breakfast. The location is close to the town centre. It is a pretty hotel with a good dining area and reasonably well-stocked bar. The hotel also serves lunches and dinners.
The size of the room and the lack of space. The furniture was shabby and the bed creaked when I turned over. The mattress was old and sagged in the centre. There was only one small drawer for clothing and a small single wardrobe. There was no shelving in the bathroom for placing toiletries or toiletry bag. In my opinion, the room was only suitable for a young backpacker, not an older woman with different requirements.

The spacious room and very helpful staff as I am slightly disabled they changed my room because the one allocated had several stairs which I could not manage. The breakfast choices were good and the breakfast room spacious and pleasing to sit by the windows very clean and nicely decorated.
Heavy fire doors are difficult for me to open fully to allow for my stroller and myself as a bend by the wall in the way.

The hotel is located at the south end of town and easily walkable to all of the town's facilities (park, funfair, supermarket, bars, pier etc). The hotel staff were very attentive and whilst room 15 may be a little more expensive than some others, it is definitely worth the money, with a four-poster bed and castle theme. The bed was very comfortable and the large bath and shower were refreshing. We stuck with the included continental breakfast, however, there were plenty of opportunities to have a cooked breakfast if we had wanted (£6/person extra). The continental was nice, with croissants, toast, cooked meat, cheese and more available. We will definitely be back!
Difficult to fault the hotel without being overly critical and the only disappointing bits were a couple of minor jobs that need to be done in the room's bathroom (light switch pull handle, toilet flusher and sink taps need a bit of attention).

Lovely hotel with a lift ( which really helps!) Great location, around the corner from the Main Street. The hotel itself has a lovely outside area to sit and soak up the sun…! The hotel itself has a conservatory where u can sit and eat breakfast and a bar for evening drinks! Prices are reasonable as well which is pretty unusual these days. The owner and staff were lovely, always ready to help.
Nothing! But just a couple of “suggestions” - The shower could do with a hand rail as it’s quite a step up into it ( well our shower was anyway!). A full length mirror would be nice.

Location was great for us, I'd requested a ground floor room, if possible, due to my mobility issues. Room was ready early which was a bonus. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the continental breakfast was good
Only real criticism was the tables in the conservatory were badly marked with glass stains. Our shower, although lovely and hot with nice toiletries, was very slow to drain, just advised as we were leaving so that housekeeping could sort it out.

Everyone was welcoming even the other guests as soon as we arrived we was given the keys to our room and every thing explained to us about breakfast ect we up graded to full English which was really nice plus you still had full access to the cereal and continental breakfast if you wanted more. Parking is available just across the road in the local church carpark that has full CCTV (8.50 for 24hrs) or you can park on the side streets .

The breakfast last year it was lovely for £6 extra this year it came out like a stack all built up with a hard fryed egg on top and a wooden stick in it looked like a burger in fact someone commented who having burger for breakfast sorry but not what you want there was 6 of us we left most of it everyone left the eggs not what you expect for english breakfast sorry but next time we be sticking to the continental breakfast included in price or if we do want english will eat elswere
