Healesville is a tourist town, known mostly for its animal park/sanctuary. I have not visited for a number of years, but was delighted to find it in a pretty, vibrant state: lots of people, lots of choices for eating and drinking, and plenty of retail variety. An historic town on the Yarra River, part of the goldrush era of the 1800's. The Healesville hotel was built in 1912, replacing the original built in the 1860's. It's old world charm and beauty has been augmented by modern facilities without compromising heritage. I loved the shared bathrooms with dado walls and twin shower stalls. I had the best night's sleep for six months in the cosy, quiet room. I can't wait to revisit with my partner.
I honestly can't think of a negative, apart from maybe the rather untidy, insecure parking area; but hey: it's the country!!

Hospitality- very welcoming and helpful. Grand old pub feel, simple but elegant, the aromas and quality of bathroom products, old style bathrooms filled with fresh towels, lovely crisp linen on bed and not noisy . Food in the pub is delicious and includes vegetarian options.
I would have loved a small table and chair as the room was spacious and that would have increased the usability of the room. The downstairs was not open until mid day so if you have work to attend to, or just want to sit and read in a chair, that means going off site.

Rooms were a good size The bed was very comfortable and the rooms had their own aircon Even though rooms did not have an ensuite, bathrooms were shared, this didn't create any issues for us. The shared bathrooms were a good size and very clean. We had dinner and drinks in the hotel, and the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Food and drinks were great sitting in the rear beer garden.
Only minor issue was the bar-fridge in room 6 was occasionally noisy during the night.

Location was great, right in the Main Street. Room was nice and clean, large bed. Short walk to four pillars, Woolies, Aldi or Beechworth bakery, plenty of nice shops to browse. As it says shared bathroom, there were three bathrooms, all with a toilet, 2 with showers/bath. I didn’t have to wait and they were always clean.
Room amenities were a bit basic. Just a kettle, mugs and spoons. Small fridge, with no freezer compartment. Maybe you can get other stuff from the pub/front desk but it wasn’t clear.

The rooms were large and modern. Ours was a bit dark because of the external balcony but I saw there were other brighter rooms and we weren't that concerned about it as our stay was overnight. It is an old hotel above a pub with a shared bathroom. The bathroom was very clean and was always available when we needed it.
The fridge in the room was quite noisy and you can hear people outside or in the hallway but aside from that, it was a pleasant stay.

Great place bed was comfortable, had shared bath room but was clean, well stocked with toilet paper towels etc, could hear music from pub below (to be expected but did not disturbed my sleep, may have been helped by the wine I drank lol) , bed room was large, with great air-conditioning, is in centre of town coles supermarket is 2 mins walk away, I would definitely stay again
Is a bit old, but it is over 100 years old

Right in the middle of town, clean room and even though it was a shared bathroom, the bathrooms were very clean and always available. And even though we stayed on a Saturday night, there was very little noise after 11pm
I found it a bit odd that they wanted you to write down your credit card details - hopefully they come up with a new system soon as it doesn’t seem the safest

We didn't have breakfast. Was it on offer?
Even though I know the toilet/showers are down the corridor (I've stayed before) this time I found it inconvenient. Having to put on clothes in the middle of the night to use the toilet is a bit of a drag. Perhaps if this inconvenience was acknowledged with a complimentary bottle of wine, I would feel more like booking there again.

The king room was superb and so comfy. Great spaces and a view to the street. No noise although we were left ear plugs just in case. The bathrooms are superb. Especially the double shower one. Loved it. Lovely liquid soaps and shampoos in the bathroom plus plenty of clean towels and floor mats.
The walk to the bathroom was a little ‘creaky’ in the middle of the night so I was afraid of annoying people as I crept by. The walk was down one long and one short corridor so select a room closer to the bathrooms if you need to use one urgently. Mmm… not sure about paying a Sunday surcharge for a glass of wine in the hotel bar …food I understand… but $5plus on top of $26 for the 2 glasses I felt was a bit dear, unless this is the normal Victorian thing in every bar?!?

Nice little shared bathroom hotel. Room size was good. Free parking. Great location if you don’t always want to drive somewhere.
It was very noisy all the time except from 11pm to probably 8am due to where our room was situated - from live music from bar or music from restaurant or music that the staff had put on while they were prepping or clearing the kitchen and restaurant.
