Two great things about this hotel: connected with Yamashina train station (one stop away from Kyoto Station) and the hot bath. It is not very close to the touristic attractions of the city, but well connected via metro. Higashyama Station is 4 stops away. The hot bath was fantastic. I booked the hotel without thinking i would ever use it, but i ended up using it every single night, to relax after long days of exploring. Great quality toiletries in the rooms and in the hot bath area. Staff's English is not great, but they are very kind and helpful and we made good use of translation apps :) Breakfast was OK, good variety, good quality, but i would've appreciated more western dishes. It was very out of my comfort zone. The view was good, as well, my room was facing the train station and the mountains.

I’ve stayed here before two years ago. I loved it. The decor at the time was more traditional and since then it has changed and become modernised. It was a very very comfortable stay. The rooms are super spacious compared to a lot of hotels in Tokyo. The shower facilities are excellent. They give you all the essentials you’ll need in the bathroom including bath salts that were much needed after long days. I wanted a double bed but only a twin room was available. They put the two beds together for me which was lovely of them. I didn’t have the breakfast this time but there’s a cafe nearby that doesn’t great sandwiches and pastries. The location is great! Hotel is directly opposite yamashina station. You’re one stop from Kyoto and a direct line to Osaka available. So you can make day trips to Osaka and Kobe easily. I would happily stay here again and plan to come back to Japan as often as possible. The rooms are soundproof so I never heard the trains. I had the best sleep here. They have black out curtains and air conditioning available. It was not stuffy or hot even with air conditioning off. They were super accommodating in helping me send my luggage to the next hotel. Breakfast is expensive. I last stayed here before Covid restrictions in 2023 and it was cheaper. Very traditional Japanese breakfast and it was good. This time it seems too expensive when you can get good breakfast outside and close to yamashina station.

Great location just out of central Kyoto but close to station. Women only spa was excellent. Comfortable beds, well-laid out room, close to supermarket for meals and snacks. Cleaning staff were thorough. Everything was very clean.

Hard to find good restaurants close by but there are some. In the end, I opted for buying from the supermarkets and eating in my room and that was fine and cost effective. Room might be squeezy for two people if you like space but I found it fine. It was well configured and had everything you need.

The hotel is situated at the suburbs of Kyoto but has got a lot of great food options in proximity. It is really 2 mins away from railway station and "sits on" a underground train line. If you want to catch a flight at Osaka Airport the Express Train Haruka passes directly at the neighboring train station ONLY until 8.14 o'clock otherwise you must take the train to the airpot from Kyoto station (another 10-15 min with train). It can not get any better than that. The staff was great, the rooms are exceptionall, the connection to city center and sightseeings is ideal, local restaurants in few minutes walk, shopping center next to the hotel. The value-for-money element is unbeatable. I would ONLY recommend!!!

The breakfast is very japanese oriented. There is not much western-european options but if you are in to japanese food, my God you will love their breakfast. They have a lot of coffee options too.

The location was great and with a beautiful view too! Staff were super welcoming and friendly and the onsen was the highlight. All the little freebies and extras provided in the room were also lovely.

The rooms were a little tight and cramped. Also it would have been nice if we could open the window for fresh air as if would get very stuff in the rooms and their wasn’t an air vent in the bathrooms.

Comfortable room. Nice additions such as nespresso machines in the room with capsules. Nice soaps, cleaning/ rearranging the room daily, and the best…. There is an elevator from the train station to our floor… how convenient is that..? And the traditional breakfast… wow!!! Amazing experience.

Perhaps is not the most popular and nice area in Kyoto but the train network runs so well that it is relatively easy to get to places.

The spa and sauna was superb! The breakfast was delicious and we really like japanese dishes! The room was cozy. The location is close to kyoto. We had a blast and really enjoyed this vacation because of hotel sanraku! Also, you get voucher for saving on the room clean up which i get to use to buy more souvenirs!

I got confused with the check out time. Was it 10am or 11am?

The location was amazing. You see the hotel as soon as you get off the train, its literally across the street. The room was spacious compared to others rooms with stayed in in Japan. My wife loved the spa. they had an amazing Japanese breakfast. We arrived early, they stored our luggage and when we checked in our luggage was already in the room. a much more local vibe, even though its only one stop from kyoto station, we didnt see many other westerners

The location was perfect, with easy access to the station, convenience stores and a department store. The wide range of amenities we got in the room were amazing too!

I think the most disappointing thing is that they don’t have a laundry room. You need to go outside to do your laundry. There is also a lack of electrical outlets (I think). The AC unit is also hotel-controlled, so you can’t control the temperature yourself, which is a bit of a letdown.
