The self service check-in and out is very convenient. There’s also a reception area but we didn’t meet anyone of the staff in our stay. Anyway they always respond via booking and they’re always willing to help. The accommodation in Akureyri is up on a very slope road and on the day we stayed in the city it was snowing so the road was also slippery. We recommend people to drive very carefully and use a 4x4 car with appropriate winter tires. There are multiple parking spots nearby. The room was on the first floor and it was a bit difficult to carry our heavy luggage. The room was by far the best one we’ve booked in our trip in Iceland. It was very spacious, the bed was big, it had different windows so natural light could pass through, the host provided us fresh towels, sheets, there was a hairdryer and a mini fridge as well. The bathroom was amazing, it felt luxurious. It had a tub big enough to fit 2 people, a small shower and a little balcony with a nice view of the streets and trees covered in snow. If I had to find a “negative thing” it would be the shower curtain that didn’t close very well and it kept on sticking onto our wet legs.

We had an upstairs room with balcony in this guesthouse. It was a very beautiful and restored historic hotel on the inside, which was a nice change from most of the very new, minimalist cabins and guesthouses we stayed at on our trip. Couldn't have been happier with our stay, and only wished that we have booked more than one night to explore Akureyi. The hotel is a very short walk from the city centre, with plenty to do nearby. The botanical gardens are worth a visit!

There are a couple stairs to get into the building (even if staying on the first floor), and it is on a large hill with a steep walk back from the city centre. Not really a negative- just something to be aware of if a guest has limited mobility.

An Icelandic house converted into a guesthouse I was lucky enough to have the ground floor room which was both very light and very convenient. Very comfy bed and I borrowed a suitable chair to sit at the desk available to use my computer. Very close to all amenities but quiet and well furnished. My flight was delayed and Gisli kindly came to pick me up from the airport and book me in for an extra night at a reduced fee.

The bathroom is tiny and the sink really too small to wash in.

Fantastic old home full of beautiful antiques, centrally located, wonderful host who spent lots of time making great suggestions and he upgraded me at no cost to a wonderful double room with a sitting area and private bathroom. Thank you!! Oh and free parking right outside the front door!

Absolutely nothing!

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The room was perfect for three people — very clean, comfortable, and the bathroom was absolutely beautiful. The host was very kind and went out of his way to provide us with forks, spoons, and a can opener so we could have our meal in the room. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness and hospitality. Would definitely recommend this place!

The house is beautiful and in a really good location. Our room was spacious, including the private bathroom. The room also had a mini-fridge and a table for two. We loved the art on the walls, and the owner was really nice and gave us tips about the nearby sights and also talked about the history of the city. Everything was really clean and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights, and were really happy with the accommodation!

Great location with easy free parking with such a price. Clean and comfy beddings in hotel quality. Spacious bedroom and toilet, allowing two big suitcases to be opened while having place to walk around. Friendly host, always available. Beautiful wooden staircase.

Easy to hear movements outside including the using of water kettle. Nightstands are shaped round, making charging cables easy to slide off.

The property is well located, close to the town and it’s restaurants and yet with free street parking almost outside. However it is a steep climb back up from the town. We had the corner ground floor room. Very comfortable double bed. The furniture in the room is generally quite old and probably classed as antique and includes a large piano!! Tea and coffee facilities were in the reception area. There is a fridge in the room but no other catering facilities. Although the room is near the road the double glazing worked well and we did not get disturbed by any traffic. The en-suite shower room was fine but the handbasin is very small. The owner was very helpful

We would not normally chose a place with such old furniture but it actually all worked out fine. Practically the shower curtain appeared to be in the wrong place and allowed me to wet most of the bathroom floor.

Owner was great and very friendly! Very accommodating and shared tips on road conditions. Shower has plenty of hot water. There is a refrigerator in the room.

Closest parking is only roadside parking on the street outside. Cars are parked parellel to the street, so parking is quite limited. Room is quite small, and ensuite bathroom is also quite small and dated (white small tiles design). But everything functions wellm Kettle, cups, tea and coffee are on a wardrobe outside the room and is shared among guests on the first floor.

The place was amazing! Such a beautiful b&b. The room was big, spacious and beautifully decorated. The host was so sweet! We ended up adding on breakfast and he made us the best breakfast layout. Great location and very clean! Also the room had black out shades that helped with the light summer nights.
